Frank Mosely was the typical hustler who chose the streets over an honest life. Coming home to an empty house after his mother died proved to be too much to handle. There was only one way that he knew how to block out the pain and survive in these wicked streets and that was to go back to where it all began, hugging the block. Meeting up with one of his boys from the inside and getting put on by his connect, Frank thought that it would be all good. What he didn’t expect was for that decision to set off a chain of events that could possibly send him back to prison for life. If there was one thing he had promised himself it was that he would never go back to jail. By any means necessary. Skipping town seemed to be his only option and he needed to go somewhere where no one knew who he really was or his dark past. What he didn’t expect was for the people of the small town to have such an impact on his life, not all in a good way. The enemy is always roaming and seeking who he can destroy and he would even use someone in the church to complete his task. Just as he starts to get comfortable in his new position his past comes rushing in like a flood and he doesn’t know who he can trust. Not only is his life in danger but so are the lives of the people that have come into his life. Will Frank be able to hold himself accountable for his wrong doings and have a sensitive ear to the voice of God? Or will he just continue to play the role in order to keep himself hidden?
Author Andre Ray is a talented writer who brings the trials of the hood to life. Frank Mosley is street hustler turned church man, but his departure from the old neighborhood doesn’t come without its own source of baggage. Frank struggles to accept his new found path. Somewhere along the journey Frank accepts his new path as a new “hustle’ and treats it accordingly. Andre Ray teases and tantalizes with the blurred lines that are so similar between the hood and the church. As Frank Mosley grapples with those realities his own personal life bombards in and causes its own sense of drama. In the end Frank makes a decision that completely changes his life forever.
To be completely honest, I almost put this book down within the first few pages. The grammatical errors were terrible. I had to reread to make sure what I had just read was what thought it said. Confusing right? I know. But I'm glad a pushed through to the end because the ending made up for the errors. In fact, my favorite part was the lesson Frank taught at the end and how he related it. Well thought out by the writer.
This book just goes to show that you never know who God can and will use in His plans. He was using many character in this book to usher along His plans. There was Mother Mary, Jake, and even the policeman and James. Although both James and Kerry were working for the other team, God's purpose was still carried out in spite of them. And even Pastor proved "every closed eye ain't sleep".
Also a lesson to let people know there is nothing you've done that's to bad for God to use you if you surrender to His will . It did kind of seem that Frank progressed really fast from surrendering to God one night, becoming a deacon almost overnight and then being in the pulpit teaching and sermonizing the flock in just a couple of weeks. But i'll overlook that. Hoping to see Kerry come to some sense in the sequel also.
This book is a really quick read ( I finished in a few hours) so you might as well go ahead and get the sequels at the same time.
I enjoyed this book, awesome job. Frank was a young man that lived his life in the streets, selling drugs and robbing people. Frank was sentenced to jail and once returning to society he was hurt and confused. During his stay in jail his mom died and he did not get to attend her funeral. Frank met up with James after getting out of jail and had to flee town. After fleeing from town he gave his life to God, only for James to find him. This book is an awesome page turner....
I really enjoyed reading this book because I know first hand God can take a booty and turn it into a Cadillac, but the Word says you have to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart I'm saying this because when Frank gave his life to the LORD he answered question but didn't make a confession himself, but I enjoyed
Great read.. It was inspirational and motivational. God has a plan even when we don't have a clue. It keep me from the beginning to the end with much unexpected surprises. Never a dull moment with Frank.
What a story of God's redemption. A lesson for all. Praise his holy name. God is always with us. His word is true. It's up to us to choose him over evil. Please read this book and practice his word. Thank you author for a good word.
This is a good storyline with very believable characters. I gave it 2.5 stars because of the errors and the sentence structures caused a lot of re-reading just to understand it's context.
So I'm sitting here in tears. This book really touched my heart. Andre Ray has an anointing over his life and especially over the hands he uses to form his words
So I'm sitting here in tears. This book really touched my heart. Andre Ray has an anointing over his life and pen!
I gave this book 5 stars, because u can feel the anointing seeping all thru this book. Mr Andre please don't stop doing what u are doing. The world needs to hear more from u. I thank God for u.
I was amazed at the actions of the First Lady. I read her wrong at the beginning but this was a book about redemption, hopefully in the next she has a come to Jesus moment like James did.
Good plot. Spelling and grammatical errors in the book caused frustration. Good characters that were not predictable. All in all, I enjoyed the book. About to read the second one.
Thank you for delivering a word/book from a real Thugs eyes! It's a powerful yet easy read. It reminded me of how God kept me throughout all of my foolish behavior growing up in the hood. What a merciful God we serve!
This was a very good book. It got my attention almost immediately, it have got more and more interesting as the time went on. I loved it about the start book 2 right now
This was a great book with a powerful message. God is surely in this author. Needed just a little more proofreading at the end because the words all ran together.
I really enjoyed Frank story. It was very uplifting and shows how God change change anybody. Looking forward to reading part 2 and more from this author.
I enjoyed this story. You can always hide in the Lord. I’ll remember that. This story shows you can be redeemed. You can have a second chance if you truly want it, but know all secrets comes to light eventually like Jake said. James kept me on edge and Mother Mary needed to get a hold of Kerry, smh. Overall, this was an awesome read. I’ll have to read Book 2.
This was an excellent read. The author was very vivid in the lives of the characters. This author pulls the readers in with the storyline of redemption, and how everyone has a past, but with GOD all things can change.
book was good liked all the characters there James, Frank Kerry I loved how there were scripiytrd in the book this book was telling me that God gives chances to us to.turn our lives around and give God a chance to do his thing on us
The plot was very interesting but some of the characters were a bit much for reality. I hate cliffhangers so I will not be recommending this book. Overall, the book kept my attention through completion and that is a plus for the author.
This is not a book I would normally read and the first time reading work from this author. I enjoyed the book and read it in two days. It was a great book on how God give second chances. Can’t wait to read more from Andre Ray.
Man, this was a really good story. It shows that sometimes we can't always escape our past. Great job, and I can't wait to read the other books I have by this author.
