The Deadly Legal Affair
Daisy McDare is busy nursing a broken heart, trying to build up her interior decorator business, and baking cookies when murder strikes Cozy Creek. At first she leaves the investigation to Chris Crumple, the local bumbling police detective. But when Crumple arrests the wrong suspect, Daisy takes the investigation into her own hands. Cracking the case won't be easy. She'll need help from her pastry-baking best friend Samantha, her wise-cracking Granny Annie, and her trusty West Highland Terrier Shamus. It's up to Daisy McDare to find the murderer in Cozy Creek before they strike again.
A Novel To Die For
Newspaper reporter Deanna Devlin finally gets a promotion from writing puff pieces to covering more serious stories. Unfortunately, her next assignment hits a little too close to home when one of her friends is accused of murdering a local book store owner. Deanna knows her friend couldn't have committed the crime, but the only way to prove it to the police is to find the real killer herself. There are no shortage of suspects in the case, including a tarot-card loving mistress, a jaded wife, a sleazy land developer, and a sassy mother-in-law. With the clock ticking, Deanna scrambles to uncover the truth before it's too late.
Reunions Can Be Deadly
Another murder occurs in Chloe Cook's sleepy hometown of Cape Cod. The victim is an arrogant former actor who has a bad habit of making of enemies. Now the local police detective suspects that Chloe's old friend Paige O'Doul is the killer. To prove Paige's innocence, Chloe has to take matters into her own hands and find the real killer herself.
K. M. Morgan. The Deadly Legal Affair v2 (Daisy McDare series): Don't enjoy Daisy McDare. Bridget Bowman. A Novel to Die For v2: Deanna Devlin So far I'm not impressed. I'm feeling dialogue overload here. Half way through the book and there are no descriptions or backgrounds of the world around them. How can wife legally sell bookstore the day after husband was murdered. Not a fan. 1/2 Kayla Michelle. Reunions Can Be Deadly v2?: Chloe Cook getting in people's faces until one of them confesses, not really detective work. It's like listening to a radio play. Lots of talking and no window dressing. 1
I really liked the stories in Christmas Cozy Mystery Multi-Author Collection. They all have female characters who are determined to solve murders and find killers even though the police are also looking to solve the crimes.
The writers are very illustrative creating entire worlds for their audience to get lost in. Every aspect of these novels is fully developed in a manner that you can’t help but picture. They are simultaneously exciting, suspenseful, and emotional. Oh, and add in some humor, too.
The book is a great read and each story definitely captures the reader in the story line, but that wouldn't work if the authors didn't have good characters. These amateur sleuths are smart and determined women who do whatever they have to do in order to find the murderer.
Entertaining little stories. Not great, but I like almost everything. My gripe is that the only thing Christmas-y about this 3-book collection is the collective title and the cover. I started it expecting it to be appropriate for the season, but no holidays, Christmas or any other were mentioned in any of the stories. Not even winter! Disappointed in the false advertising.
All three of these cozy mysteries were just what the doctor ordered. Being laid up in bed with the flu (after getting the flu shot) these were just thing to keep my mind off how bad I felt. Highly recommend!
You will diffidently find yourself wrapped up in these books! Each one are completely amazing! A nice set to grad yourself some coco and settle in on a cold winter evening or any evening for that matter and lose yourself in the stories!
