Complete BWWM novella, with a happy ending and no cliffhanger. Rhys Courtland’s four-year-old daughter wants a sibling, but he’s a grieving widower and not ready to move on. His daughter’s innocent suggestion that he should have a baby with the nanny sparks an idea, and he sets out to seduce Ava, planning to get her pregnant before gradually cooling down the relationship. It’s only after he sets his scheme in motion that he realizes the flaw in his plan. He didn’t anticipate developing feelings for her, and now he has to decide if he wants to stay his dead wife’s faithful husband, or let go of his grief and seize an unexpected second chance at happiness. Bonus content includes a three-chapter excerpt of another Mia title loosely connected to this novella.
I met a few character Ava, Rhys, his daughter and his sister-in-law. Of them all I can only really say that Rhys was an ass and Ava too sweet for her own good and Margo (sister-in-law) smart. Tha for me was a shame because I just finish this read and there was nothing about it that carried over and it's only been an hour. the narrator did a better job than I have heard on previous books from this author, but it too was nothing that truly stood out.
This is a sweet little book. Rhys and Ava were a cute couple. Ava wasthat girl that was there through the Rhys and his daughter's hardest time. Ava grew to love them and understood what was going on and why Rhys had a hard time moving on. Great book.
