Excellent book for prepping for the Psychiatry Shelf and day-to-day for the Psych clerkship. I almost entirely relied on this for Shelf prep and got a 91.
I used this book as content review to prepare for the NMBE exam for my peds clinical rotation.
I liked the format, and found it was well-written and organized. It focuses on high-yield information, which I appreciate, though there were times that I needed to use additional resources to read more information about topics (this book deals more on facts than on explanations).
I'd recommend it to help prepare for the NBME, if used along with a question bank book like Lange or PreTest.
This was a LOOOOOONG review book to go through... almost 600 pages of review. I found that a lot of it was straight medical review and not necessarily for just pediatrics. Either way since I am studying for Step 2 as well as my pediatrics shelf I found the book to be an excellent (if long) review. Fairly comprehensive, but give yourself at least 4-5 days for your "quick" review in order to get through the whole text.
