Muşatescu was born in Câmpulung to a family of middle-class intellectuals — his father was a lawyer while his mother was a writer. He began writing during his early years in school. He completed studies at the University of Bucharest where he earned a degree in Law and one in Literature.
Much of his work centers on provincial life in his native city, and includes political satires such as Titanic Vals (arguably, his most influential writing).

Foarte simpatică piesa lui Tudor Mușatescu! Bine că am citit-o, chit că un pic tîrziu... :)
Dar, cum pînă și în ziua de azi piesa se simte ”de actualitate”, practic ea merge citită oricînd.
Recomand cu căldură. :)
Pentru o carte aflată la a nu știu cîta ediție, absolut jenantă colecția de greșeli de tipar de tot felul. Rușinică, tavarișchi.
Poate 4-5*.

Titanic vals este o carte ce ilustrează o familie ca "de la sat" si comportamentul lor pasiv-agresiv, dar totuși destul de comun. Spirache, Gena, Miza, Chiriachita, Dacia,Traian și Decebal locuiesc impreuna, intr-un haos și rebelitate -ce avea sa fie cea mai frumoasa tristețe convertita in poveștile de viata ale personajelor- .
Deloc atipic altor carti de ficțiune, singurele personaje cu capul pe umeri sunt Spirache și Gena,tata și fiica.
Spirache avea și umorul ce face cartea o "comedie", dar are și maturitatea unui tata demn, fapt demonstrat prin comunicarea lui Gigi ca Miza este pe mâini bune alături de fiul ei. Spirache este caracterizat indirect și ca o persoana calma, avand in vedere ca nu a "parat-o" pe Miza Chiriachitei, știind ca asta v-a declanșa un conflict.
Gena decide sa aibă grija de copilul Mizei, în timp ce are grija și de propria satisfacție sufleteasca. Ea și Dinu aveau sa crească impreuna bebelușul Mizei prin bine și rău, prin iarna și vara, prin soare și ploaie. Gena dovedește ca este o fire inimoasa, dar si profunda. Își alege cuvintele bine și vede dragostea ca un scop al speciei umane, ca povestea prin care trece orice ființă efemera, trecătoare.
Pe o alta nota, nu am apreciat faptul ca aceasta carte promovează involuntar stereotipuri greșite. Un exemplu ar fi: ,, Mama este cea care-l naște nu cea care-l creste". În contradicție, familia nu este doar sânge, iar faptul ca Miza ia copilul Genei de la ea, fără niciun argument corect moral ma dezamăgește.
Așadar, Titanic Vals este o lectura simpatica, palpitanta, despre sacrificiu și viata,despre dragoste și despre pierderi, ce m-a surprins plăcut.

O opera scrisa de Tudor Musatescu . Nu ma asteptam sa devina una dintre cartile mele preferate . Are o actiune interesanta , este usor de citit si inteles . M-a captivat abia pe la mijlocul cartii . Este una dintre lecturile obligatorii pe care a trebuit sa le citesc pentru scoala , dar nu regret . Nu ma asteptam sa o inteleg si , chiar sa imi placa atat de mult . Personajele Gena , si in special , Spirache mi-au atras atentia . Sunt foarte bine conturate , de asemenea fiind si Miza . Nu ma asteptam nici la faptul ca Spirache sa fie un om atat de inteleigent si filosofic , precum am descoperit ca este , abia in ultimul act al piesei de teatru .

This is a very good comedy, the satire, humor in it will place it above many (most actually) productions that are acclaimed today, one example would be Beef, a series started yesterday, nominated for so many awards, Emmy, Golden Globes and all, but one that I failed to fall over, after one episode…

Besides, there are some elements, aspects that endear the comedy in a particular way, but I am subjective, for I think my mother has had a minor role (if any) in an ancient production, and then it deals with politics, which is a favorite subject for me, and it takes an outré, original view of the subject
The protagonist refuses to enter the rat race, politics, and with that he is so unique, a rara avis, rare bird that is in fact extinct now…The Economist issue that has been at newsstands from this morning has Biden on the cover, next to a car that dates from the year when he was born – 1942, and the comment is skeptical
If we get The Orange Jesus next year, the we are damned, so with all his faults, Biden is the only sane choice, however much criticism the present president gets from The Economist –the main one being that Joe Biden should have announced four years ago that he will only accept one term and then retire…
Spirache is the main character in Titanic Vals and we could see him in contrast with the fame-seeking politicians, those who never give up, while Spirache refuses the limelight, Joe Biden seems to think that he is the only one that can beat Trump, and we could see that there are fears the Confidence Man could win

O altă satiră la adresa clasei politice de tip Caragiale, dar nu la fel. Din nou, rămân uimit după ce citesc un autor român, se pare că România are mulți scriitori, care nu dezamăgesc. Totuși literatura noastră e mult mai mică decât a altora precum și piața de carte, care constă în doar 60 de milioane de dolar, în timp ce a Ungariei este de 100 de milioane de dolari. Rușinică!
V-o recomand cu plăcere, deoarece e destul de ieftină și scurtă, deci dacă nu vă va plăcea nu ve-ți pierde mulți bani sau timp pe ea. Însă sunt sigur că o ve-i iubi.

Publicată pentru prima dată în 1932, piesa de față poate fi privită drept o comedie cu accente dramatice. Personajele principale fac parte din pătura mai amărâtă a societății și de aici rezultă și viața plină de frustrări pe care sunt nevoiți s-o ducă.
Dar uneori și-o mai fac chiar cu propria lor mână...
PS: Interesat este că filmul omonim (lansat în 1965, în regia lui Paul Călinescu) a depășit mult ca audiență piesa. Pe lângă faptul că reprezintă o formă de artă mai accesibilă, a contat probabil și distribuția, în frunte cu Grigore Vasiliu Birlic. Ion Finteșteanu, Coca Andronescu, Mișu Fotino, Ștefan Mihăilescu-Brăila au fost alte nume de referință.

Acum îmi doresc să văd piesa jucată 😀
Poate mi-aș fi dorit alt sfârșit, Spirache pare să accepte la nesfârșit ceea ce facem soția și soacră. Nu au existat consecințe pentru comportamentul celor 2 (și al copiilor prea răsfățați) și pare că nici nu vor exista.
Poate mi-aș fi dorit să se facă puțină justiție la final, însă Spirache tot ce își dorește e liniște în familie, indiferent ce sacrificii trebuie să facă pentru asta.
In orice caz, o lectură excelentă!

O piesa de teatru usoara si amuzanta. Se pot observa tipogiile oamenilor lacomi si fara cultura care mai sunt prezente din pacate si in zilele noastre si prin intermediul piesei putem observa cat de mult a evoluat (sau nu) lumea in care traim. Desi este scrisa ca fiind o comedie, cartea arata mai degraba tristul adevar in care tara se regaseste.

Cred că este piesa mea de teatru favorită la momentul de faţă. Mi-au plăcut personajele, perioada descrisă, umorul. Cu alte cuvinte, vă invit să vă delectaţi cu această delicatesă literară. Spor la citiiit!!!!! :)))

Nu-mi vine să cred că mi-a plăcut o carte scrisă de un autor român și mai ales în genul dramatic. Acțiunea m-a ținut captivă pe tot parcursul cărții şi m-a amuzat. E o lectură uşoară şi se citeşte repede. Recomand dacă ai intrat în readingslump

A fost o carte decentă. Majoritatea personajelor m-au călcat pe nervi la maxim. Spirache și Gena sunt singurii oameni întregi la cap din familia aia.
