The handsome Duke of Haverleigh has no idea that the masked woman he has roughly bedded in a brothel is actually his bride-to-be, Sabelle Corstairs, a tempestuous heiress who vows revenge on the nobleman

I didn't care for the huge age gap - 17/34. I guess I didn't really care or notice when I was a 17 year old myself. The story is not so amazing or well written that I can look past it. Might not have been a big deal if the author wasn't constantly alluding to it and how imperative it was for a dukedom to have a [young] virgin.
Of course this is all part and parcel with the pre-Regency Era but the story did not serve to save it.
I LOVE Veronica Sattler. The Bargain remains one of my all-time favorite books. But for some reason, Sabelle just didn't do it for me. I found the timing of Justin's switch from innocent boy to jaded male to be ridiculously quick. Really...2 bad events in your 14 years and now you're a jaded, heartless, bastard? I don't know...I also found Sabelle to be silly...maybe I'm just too old :)
