Young women are being murdered and left dressed in fairy-tale costumes. Detectives Brick Henson and Timothy Daniels are at their wits end with no leads and no useful evidence.
Fifteen-year-old Delilah was born with a she can see what people are dreaming. Delilah’s gift turns into a nightmare when she taps into the dreams and memories of a serial killer, known as the Huntsman. She knows who the Huntsman is, and she knows all of his secrets…secrets he will kill to protect.
My Rating - 4.5 stars Little Girl Lost is an entertaining book and quite an easy read. The storywriting is strong and the story itself is completely gripping. It tells the story of a young girl named Delilah who can see into the minds of other people. A gift which seems to have been passed down from her Grandfather. Things get interesting when she taps into the mind of a serial killer! The chapters are fast paced and heart stomping. Each page is lined with an intense urgency that made it more compelling to keep reading to the very end. If anything I felt like maybe everything happened too fast, that perhaps the book could have been longer. This would have added more suspense but then most readers (like myself) just want to get to the good stuff and see how things will play out. Donna Dillon is a great story writer and I'm looking forward to the sequel - Little Boy Blue.
a teenager's psychic abilities help her identify a serial killer obsessed with fairy tales. Delilah keeps her gift a secret from all but a select few. But she shares with the police, something that will put her in danger.
This is a short and easy read. Completely implausible, it is still fun. Delilah's mother is over the top and super annoying but the rest of the book is engaging.
Few books suck me in as intensely as the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child does. This book certainly did it. An absolute page turner! I could NOT put this book down at all!
well thought out plot with some interesting twists. secondary characters could use additional development as they are somewhat two dimensional. if you are looking for something easy and quick but with a good plot this book is for you. i look forward to the next book in the series and watching Delilah grow into her special ability.
I found this book enjoyable in the extreme. The back story of the murder is a fascinating study in how monsters are made. Contrasting the darkness is a charming and heroic teen who has a remarkable gift. We don't know, but it is strongly suggested by her story, that she may have inherited her abilities from her grandfather. The range of characters in the book sets up some of its best lighter moments which are important in a book that is at its core a paranormal murder mystery. I think the story works on more levels that just that though, I tended to forget the paranormal implications and read it as a straight murder mystery along the lines of perhaps a Tess Gerritsen novel. Its a page turner and I loved every thrilling moment of it!
Warning! Do not start this book unless you're prepared to get nothing else done until you finish it!
I was honored to be one of Mrs. Dillon's beta readers for this particular story. I started reading it around 10:00 in the morning and finished before 6:00 p.m. Yes, it's THAT good. I couldn't put it down. The characters are complex, yet personable. The story draws you in, demanding that you turn just one more page. The twists and turns will leave you breathless. In my opinion (and I've read all of this author's books), this is Dillon's best work so far. I can't wait to read the next installment of the DreamCatcher Chronicles. What a rush!
"Little Girl Lost: Dreamcatcher Chronicles" by Donna Dillon is my first read from this author. It is not my usual genre of reading but I really loved this story. It's one of those books that you don't want to put down and stop reading because it was riveting. Delilah Mason was born with ability to see into other people's dreams. This turns her dreams into a paranormal, murder mystery. There is so much to this book and I thoroughly recommend it. Much more to the book than I am writing about because if you enjoy reading about paranormal mysteries you will LOVE this book.
WOW, What an intriguing book! I wasn't prepared to stay up all night reading, but I couldn't put this book down. Donna Dillon created realistic characters and settings, and her descriptive writing/realistic dialog helped me to see the action as I read. I could picture the 15 year-old Delilah rolling her eyes as she was talking with her mother, and Brick throwing another pair of glasses across the room. This would make a great movie. I can't wait for book two in the series.
This book is a must-read! If you have a Kindle or Kindle App, its a cheap buy (sorry, Donna, but it is...lol) at just $.99 for a big thrill. The book was broken up into 60 short chapters going back and forth between the two main characters as their paths come together towards the end of the book. This is one of those books that is difficult to put down and when you're not reading the book, you're thinking about reading the book. The story definitely keeps you hooked.
Delilah is a gifted person from the get go. Her gifts end up getting her in trouble when she finds herself in a situation with a murderer.
This book was suspenseful and extremely well written. A very easy read. As a suspense enthusiast, I find things to be mundane and predictable and this book was neither. I am looking forward to the second one!!
A suspenseful, terrifying thrill ride I loved. It took me on a dark journey with the Huntsman and his sadistic killing of women to recreate his own demented fairy tale! Such an incredible book that I highly recommend.
