The Little Monk

Rate this book
A humble and self-effacing "little monk" is the unlikely hero of this gentle parable about making prayer the centerpiece of life. The little monk is sent to a mythical monastery, where he must learn about prayer, one lesson a year. Armed with a slingshot and accompanied by a kitten, the little monk goes on his journey--a loving metaphor for the spiritual search we all undertake.

This book and it’s companion, “the early days of a little monk” are my favorite books of all time. I have re-read them several times and anytime I find a copy available I purchase it to have it ready as a gift for someone else. I highly recommend this beautiful simple deeply spiritual and wonderful work. The journey of the little monk is heartwarming and powerful and uplifting.

Read this book for disciple formation, and enjoyed the journey the little monk took finding the power in prayer.

This sweet book is a little reminder for young and old about the grace and ever-loving support of God. This will be a regular reread for me, as its approachable nature is so dang lovable.

I love this book..
It is a very entertaining book, but at the same time, it teaches
lifelong lessons you wouldn't find in most books..
It will teach someone how to strengthen one's faith in the Lord during
certain life circumstances..and how is it possible for us to change, or
at least teach something to the world, regardless of who we are, what we do, what
we look like, or experienced we are..
