Handsome, AUFC fighter, Lincoln Hayes.
The same Lincoln Hayes that she’s had a crush on since she was sixteen.
All muscled, disciplined, hot as hell, six-foot two of him. He’s definitely not a boy anymore.

And Lincoln? He’s only got one thing on his mind.

To Crash by Amity Cross, a 3rd book that I've read by this author so far,
well I give 4.75 stars

The story completed from the blurb:

After being viciously attacked, Violet Fuller’s hidden herself away from the world for the past five years, fearing everyone and everything. That’s until the day she finally gathers the courage to go outside. She decides to take a job at her brother Ash’s new gym, Pulse since she finished the online course in business management and account. She never expected to see him again - handsome, AUFC fighter, Lincoln Hayes.
They have known each other since they were young and yeah it's the same guy she's had a crush on since she was 16. But she never acted upon it, Neither did he.
Why? They both thought each one was untouchable!

And now after the horrible thing happend to Violet (Vee) she's even more „untouchable“ and „distant“ but now that the odds are changed, the obstacle seems too high to reach, it is making Lincoln - muscled, disciplined, hot as hell, six-foot two determined and persistant fighter, to finally take the matter of winning her over.
And how do you win over a woman who is afraid of everything?
You fight.

BUT Lincoln makes mistakes too, he's not perfect, far from it, he's proven to be a hot bloodied man who reacts to the offered invitation for a release, and that fact just makes for another aggravating obstacle in making Vee to understand that he knows he made a mistake and that he's willing to prove he's worthy. That she is what he WANTS and he is what she NEEDS.

The characters:

Violet Fuller – a girl who was shattered in the most vile of ways one can ruin another person – by taking her dignity, by destroying her physical selfesteem and the way she looks at herself and the world around her. She felt guilty as well cause her older brother Ash took the fall for her by retaliating and assulting the man who attacted her , and spent five years in prison destroying his own future as a pro AUFC fighter.

She never left her house in five years other than to see her therapist, she never felt the touch or contact of other people, she became a ghost, a shadow, an empty shell of a person that only vegetated in a secured environment and her own secluded and safe world of books and movies, cause she could escape in them feeling in control even if it was fake…

Until her inner self started to reach out, wanting to break free…cause somewhere deep inside the „real“ Violet lived hidden as a captive of the horrid past unabled to move forward…
She takes a chance one step at the time, in facing the other world, reacting and slowly opening up BUT it's a long way to go…and she never hoped or expected to be overwhelmed by the only guy she ever dreamed about.

I liked Vee, inspite her being a total mouse, I felt empathy, not annoyance and I was cheering for her to make that step towards the world, I was so proud of her…

Lincoln Hayes – the AUFC fighter who had a shoulder injury in one of his last matches had to take a leave from fighting for six months. He comes back to Melbourne from Sidney where his life is settled actually, to visit the newly opened gym Pulse, to see Ash and Ren, his friend.
Ash offers him a part time job to help him out in the gym, while Linc under goes his physical therapy. He never expected to see her again. He never expected to have the strong pull towards her either, he thought the teen crush was over BUT it actually never ended, it was dormant but now it's awakened again and he won't pass the opportunity to meet her again.
Violet.

The woman he is ready to fight for, to bring her to life again, even if he has to take the patient and long road to erase all the horrid memories of what she went through by showing her what it means to love, to cherish, to hold, to feel.

I liked Lincoln, although he was a stupid, dumb dick who acted like a stupid, horny dumb dick looking for a casual release, just because he was stupid enoigh NOT to talk to Violet about his feelings. BUT I forgave him, stupid fuck!

Anyway he proved himself over and over again, even when the things looked way off and went too far off course, and really seemed as „the end“ for both of them…he pulled through, he fought, he never backed down and he never gave up, and he was ready to sacrifice the very thing that makes him a fighter…just like the true fighters do!

Violet was in love with me. I was in love with Violet. I couldn't let her slip away. I wouldn't. It was time to do what I did best.
Fight.

NOTE: Just to be clear, there's nothing new to the story that you probably haven't read before, but it was the development of the characters that got through me and won me over…so it was a winner for me.

It was fast tempo, it flew fluently and I really enjoyed it and read it in one take!

I love this author and this book was different from the other books I've had the pleasure of reading from her so far.
Violet is a rape victim. She fears everything. Her only comfort is her brother Ash. When she is encouraged by her therapist to change her life, she takes a job in Pulse, Ash's gym.
Lincoln is only looking for a place to pass his time while recovering from a shoulder wound. He is a fighter and so Pulse seems like the place to go. Things get complicated when he sees his teenage crush. Violet is different though. Shy and shell-shocked, she tries to be invisible.
But emotions cannot be hidden and Violet will have to get out of her shell. Can Lincoln be the one to help her?
The story was amazing. It deals with a sensitive subject matter but it is not a dark and heavy. The author handles the theme with sensitivity and care and the result is beautiful. Linc was an amazing hero. Violet was strong and sweet. The romance was deep and sizzling. Loved every minute of this book. Do not miss this gem.

Although this is about a different couple than books 1 and 2 (Beat and Pulse), you still need to read this series in order. If you don't, you'll be lost and missing out on some important backstory.

This is the story of Lincoln and Violet. Violet has pretty much been a recluse since she was violently raped and abused by her brother's enemy, Hammer. She's afraid of everything in the outside world and even more afraid of anything to do with men. Starting in the last book, she had slowly been gaining baby steps in overcoming some of her fears. She wants to be herself again and be able to be around people without breaking down in a panic. Since Ash, her brother, has just opened up his new MMA gym he hires her to keep their books for him.

In a twist of fate, Lincoln has to return from the AUFC MMA championships due to an injury. He can't fight for 6 months, so he ALSO ends up working at Ash's gym. He hasn't seen Violet since before the tragedy and isn't sure what to expect. Back when she was younger and used to hang around the gym that Ash practiced at Lincoln had a crush on her, and unbeknownst to him she also felt the same way. Both of them still have feelings for the other but they don't know how to approach them.

Although Violet WANTS to get closer to Lincoln, she's too damaged to be the kind of girl he wants or needs, especially sexually. Of course this is just what SHE thinks, not how Lincoln feels. He isn't sure if he can be who she needs, because he doesn't feel worthy of her. But he can't deny the pull she has on him, so he decides HE wants to be the man to bring her back to herself because the idea of anyone else doing it makes him want to hurt whomever that guy may be.

Lincoln is so patient with Violet that it will melt your heart. They spend time getting to know one another and can't help falling in love. He does the only thing he knows how to do to help her, and that is to fight. He refuses to let her painful past shape the woman she becomes. She slowly emerges from her cocoon into a beautiful butterfly and even though it took hard work on her part, she couldn't have done it without Lincoln.

Just when things are going well, a series of events occurs that could be the end of them. Violet is still fragile and things that might be easy for other people are huge hurdles for her. Thy both must dig inside themselves to find the strength from the love they share to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Violet has to be a fighter, too.

This love story is just perfect. Neither Violet nor Lincoln are without flaws, they both made me angry several times before the end. I wanted to yell at them both to get their heads out of their asses and realize what they had right in front of them. Good thing they listened to me! They get their "happy for now" and while I hope it's an HEA, this IS an Amity Cross series so nothing is for certain. I'm really excited to continue with book 3.5 (Spike) which goes back to focus on Ash and Wren. I'm sure we'll still get glimpses of Violet and Lincoln and I want to see how they're doing.

This book was different from the first two, but it was still amazing. Linc was so sweet, I fell in love with him in the first book. And, of course, it was great to get to read more about Ash!

Received a copy of the title in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 / 5 stars

I had the opportunity to read the first two books of this series, in addition to this third one, for today. And while I did enjoy Ren and Ash (and am pretty excited to see they have a small story coming up)...

...I really liked Violet and Lincoln.

Violet had crushed hard on Lincoln when he and his identical twin started going to the gym she and her brother trained at (little did she know, he was crushing on her, too). She's one of the few people who can tell Lincoln and Dean apart without more than a glance. But since then, the years haven't exactly been kind.

I loved how protective of Violet Ash was, but on the same token, I completely understood why Violet was so angry with him when she learned that Lincoln knew her secret. Like many victims, Violet was embarrassed by what had happened to her, and knowing that the guy she liked as a teen (and woah, she still likes as an adult) knows her dark secret? She's not entirely sure how to act around him.

Lincoln was a good guy. Did he make mistakes? Yep -- people do, athletes do, those in love do. It happens. But when a mistake potentially costs him Violet, he does the great alpha-male-lead thing and he fights hard for her.

I enjoyed Violet and Lincoln's journey because while it dealt with the two of them falling into one another, it also dealt greatly with Violet learning how to live with her past. She overcomes many obstacles in this story with the help of her family and friends. It starts out with something as simple as finding a job then being in the presence of too many people at a party, but she manages to overcome all of her fears in the timespan of this story -- the greatest of them with the help of Lincoln.

This book is categorized as an erotic romance, but I felt that the heat and sensuality of the book weren't terribly overdone. Amity Cross dealt with the sensitivity of Violet's past in a great way, but also didn't make the rest of her sex life flowers and roses, either.

I do hope to see more of these two in the future (but will pretend to be okay when it's just snippets in other books) ;)

Crash (#3 the beat and the pulse)
By Amity Cross

Crash is the third book in this series, but follows the growth and relationship of Violet Fuller and Lincoln Hayes. You are introduced to Lincoln in Beat and Violet makes her appearance in Pulse. This story is for them.

Lincoln Hayes has worked his whole life to be a professional MMA fighter. It's what he does, it's who he is. When an injury lands him with 6 months of down time he eventually makes his way to Pulse, the fight studio Ash Fuller opens. Ash gets along with Lincoln a bit better than his twin brother Dean. When Lincoln turns up Ash could really use some help with the fighters he has already. The possibility of seeing is adolescent crush, Violet - Ash's little sister, makes the idea all the more appealing.

Violet Fuller suffers from PTSD to a severity that not many people can handle. She hasn't left the house except once to help her brother since her attack. When she decides to take her life back Ash offers her a job running the office at Pulse. When she runs into her adolescent crush Lincoln Hayes at the opening party Ash talked her into she freezes and clams up. Her fear driving her out of the door and away from Pulse.

When Ash and Ren head to Thailand Ash asks Lincoln to look after Violet. He knows the score and knows what happened. Violet makes more progress with Lincoln's help in a few weeks than she has in a while of therapy. Moving past what happened to her with the help of Lincoln could never have prepared her for falling in love. That's exactly what she goes and does though.

With Lincoln healed and back in Sydney his relationship with Violet makes it hard for him to concentrate, her as well. When she decides to take the biggest step in her recovery and heads to Sydney she can't help but break when she gets there and finds another woman in his bed.

His declaration of love is what the romance novels she loves are made of. Can she find it in herself to listen to what he has to say and be the strong woman he helped her to become or will this set her back into a tailspin she could t have imagined.

Yes!!!! I have been eagerly waiting for this story with Violet and Lincoln. They have their share of heartbreak, bad decisions and tough love, but they are so meant to be together.

Lincoln got me hot and bothered from the first time I "saw" him in this series. A sexy, muscular, fighting teddy bear. To see him develop in Crash was emotional to say the least. I wasn't sure how Violet would grow and come out of her shell, but Ms. Cross did it again. Showed each character, even with timid Violet, in full view. Like a real person. Flaws and emotions mixed with strength and hope. Brilliant.

Ms. Cross writes in a way that even my fingers get excited to click those pages! I want to be in this world. I want to hang out with these characters! So well done. Amity, keep taking me out of reality and give me more! ~ Krissy, 5 stars

Hot Fighters. Innocent love. Oh, the feels! The Beat and The Pulse series continues with CRASH and I, for one, CRASHED head over heels in love with Violet and Lincoln.

Violet is attempting to overcome trauma. Lincoln is recovering and hanging with Ash and Ren at The Pulse. When they meet up, all of Violet’s old feelings come back. She has loved him since she was 16. But will he reciprocate? Can she handle what it means to let herself love him?

Crash isn’t all hit ‘em and quit ‘em fighting. It’s the hard-as-nails fighter falling in love. Lincoln is the man’s man, who does anything to take care of Violet. If I could find him, I’d steal him away from her :) But not like a tig-o-bitty chick! Crash is a fast, fun, lovable read! Get it now, you’ll be glad you did! ~ Heather, 5 stars

I love this series by Amity Cross. MMA is a topic that I like but it has to be the right author. Amity Cross is definitely one of those authors.

Violet has closed herself off from the world since her attack. Now, she’s finally ready to try to branch out again. Her brother, Ash asks her to work at his new gym. Through this job she gains confidence but she also rekindles an old crush from years ago.

Violet and Lincoln both push their feelings for each other away because they are unsure about the other person’s feelings. This caused some frustration for me because I just wanted them to tell each other how they felt and to stop skating around each other.

I loved this book. Violet went through something horrible, but she was able to come back from it over time, and with the help from her therapist, brother, and eventually, Lincoln. Lincoln made some stupid mistakes but he ended up proving himself after a while. He ended up being a sweet guy, despite being a fighter.

I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series which is another book about Ash and Ren. ~Leah, 5 stars

description

4/4.5 stars

What I loved about this book was that even though it is part of a series it is different. It is written distinctly in the voices of Violet and Lincoln and had a whole different feel to it. This book was intense, just like the last two but it had this sweetness to it that added character to the over all feel of the book. Even though this book was about two different characters, I think you would seriously miss out on so much if you don't read the others first.

"He'd taken my entire life and my ability to live and cope/ It seemed to be the cruelest fate of them all."

This is how Violet feels after what happened in her past. She is a shell of the person she used to be, fighting debilitating demons that keep her trapped and isolated from the rest of the world. But it is time for her to move forward, to take back her life and visit the real world again. If it were up to her, she might have just stayed away but with some encouragement she decides to take a job at Pulse and work for her brother. One step at time and one foot in front of the other she is moving on. The highlight of her new job is the handsome fighter she had a crush on years ago.

Lincoln Hayes, the more sensible twin, is out of the AUFC for a few months because of an injury. Needing something to pass the time he finds himself working for Ash to help train some of the new guys. It doesn't hurt that he is also hoping to set his eyes Violet, the girl he didn't think he had a chance with all those years ago.

The budding relationship between these two is awkward at first as they tip-toe around each other while thinking very much the same things. Each is so worried about what the other might think they never think to ask. Lincoln doesn't want to mess up and Violet doesn't want to push him away. When they finally try each other on for size they are a perfect match, except insecurities and old flames might drive them apart.

I really enjoyed their story. Violet was a walking contradiction, while mousy and scared of the world she could speak her mind and had a seriously strong will. It took her a long time to see herself as others see her. Lincoln, while a times a dumb boy, had a heart of gold and true gentleman. This was a bit more mild and heavier on the story than the last two books but it worked really well for the characters and their story.

This is the third book in this series and they must be read in order. This book is Lincoln and Violet’s story. Both Lincoln and Violet had a crush on each other when they were younger. Before everything happened with Ash and why he went to jail. Now Lincoln has come back to Melbourne because of a shoulder injury; the docs say he will be out for 6 months. With nothing to do and not being able to train he swing by Ash’s new gym and Ash offers him a job while is in Melbourne. Lincoln takes him up on his offer hoping he might run into Violet. Violet has been going to therapy again and making progress. Her therapist tells her that maybe she should look for a job. When she tells Ash about this he offers her one at the gym as an office manager. Violet is nervous to start on her first day and Lincoln makes her even more nervous. Violet hates that she has let he life get this bad; hates that she has let Hammer take her life from her. Lincoln sees his second chance with Violet and knows he has to take it slow. He is angry that all this has happened to her and wants to help her. Violet doesn’t believe that Lincoln could want anything to do with her in that way. She is just a scared little girl there is no way that she could give him what her needs or deserves. Will Violet and Lincoln get their second chance? Will Lincoln be the key to Violet learning live again? This book was more romantic to me than the first two books. Lincoln wants Violet so bad and knows that he must take his time with her. Allow her to get used to him being around and ease her slowly into the physical things. I felt so bad for Violet. She has been through so much and is so frustrated with her progress. She is so strong though; to overcome everything she has been and come out on the other side stronger. The relationship between Lincoln and Violet is anything but easy but it is wonderful to read about. I loved getting to read more about the other characters as well in this book. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and find out what happens next. I love this series and the characters in it. Another fantastic job Amity. I am so glad that I got to read these book back to back and didn’t have to wait.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

4 out of 5 stars

Violet Fuller’s life will never be the same since the night she was brutally raped. She has closed herself off from society and is afraid of everything. Her brother Ash is the only one she trusts. He has done everything he can to help her.

When Ash offers Violet a job at his new MMA gym, Violet is very hesitant. This would mean having to be around people all day long and she just doesn’t know if she is ready. With nothing to lose but the fear that holds her back, Violet takes a chance to get her life back on track.

Violet is surprised when she sees that Lincoln Hayes works at the gym as well. He is an MMA fighter, and she has had a crush on him since she was sixteen. Being around people and now being face to face with Linc is going to be extremely hard.

Lincoln Hayes has his future all lined up. Moving up the ranks of the AUFC, he is ready to take the championship one day. That is until he injures his shoulder during a fight. With six months rehab ahead of him, he accepts a job at Ash Fuller’s gym. He is shocked that Ash’s sister Violet is there. He always wondered what she was doing. He has always had a thing for her but was too afraid to make a move.

Linc knows what happened to Violet and is more than determined to be with her. He wants to help her and show her what it really means to live.

Their friendship blossoms into romance but Violet is always struggling to let go of the past. She doesn’t think she is good enough for Linc. When a gym bunny tries to get her grubby hands on Linc, it only makes her insecurities worse.

I think this is my favorite book of the series so far. I loved Violet and Lincoln; they are an awesome couple: a hot, sexy fighter and a beautiful woman who is much stronger that she thinks.

I hope there is more to read about this couple in the future. I definitely recommend this book as well as the first two in this awesome series!

Read in one sitting, loved it

A fast paced read, amity has a way with her writing that has you eagerly flicking the pages wanting to know whats next.

Violet is a rape victim, the plot doesn't go into detail or focus on this but focuses on her recovery and how this hot fighter helps her do that and he begins to fight for something other than a title.

Its heartwarming how these two once had eyes for each other in their teens and are reunited years later to discover the chemistry is still hot in the air.

loved the characters, Ash, Violets over protective brother who would kick anyone's ass for hurting his sister loved him, every book should have one of these.

Good pace to the read and once again a great read from Amity who always rocks an alpha.

WOW! I don't read a lot of MMA books but I LOVED this one so much! The whole series freakin ROCKS!

Violet Fuller hasn't had the easiest time in her short life. She's hidden herself away in fear for the last 5 years after being brutally attacked. Her brother offers a job at his new gym and she finds the courage to take it. When she walks in the door, she sees the man she's had a crush on since she was a teenager. Lincoln Hayes is injured after a fight that has him sidelined for 6 months. So he went home, and is now recovering and helping Ash at the gym as well. All his old feelings come up when he sees Violet walk in, as he's had a crush on her for a while. Will he be able to win over the girl who's afraid of everything?

Amity Cross has serious talent in holding her readers hostage, not able to do anything else but flip the pages quickly to find out what happen next. Her character development is spot on perfect, and they are easy to relate to. The storyline is very well done, and flows smoothly. She is diabolical in pulling every emotion out, and it actually felt like I was physically experiencing the story. Fantastic story, series, and author! Cannot wait for the next book, and I HIGHLY recommend.

Predictable.
Usually books about rape victims are more...dark? Real? A deep felt romance? But this book seemed too light and there was annoying high school cattiness that pissed me the hell off.
Kind of a let down from the first two books which I really enjoyed.

This is the third book to this series, and I am loving it. Warning, there are scenes of violence and flashbacks of a rape scene, if you are sensitive to these subjects, do not read this story. Although this book is a separate couple than the first two, I would not read it as a standalone as it could be confusing if you are missing half of the back story in the first two novels.

Violet Fuller is a rape victim. Her attack left her destroyed, petrified and changed the way she looked at men. Scared to leave the safety of her house since the attack over four years ago, she becomes a shell of her former self. Feeling guilty after her brother, Ash Fuller goes to prison for assaulting her attacker, she's secluded herself from the world, only leaving to see her therapist. Finally after years, she is willing to take a change by agreeing to work for her brother at the new gym he just opened, Pulse. Who she didn't expect to run into at her place of work is the same guy she harbored a crush on for years, Lincoln Hayes. She definitely didn't expect to still have feelings for him and feel the instant pull to him like she felt when she saw him again for the first time in over five years.

Lincoln Hayes is a sexy AUFC fighter that has just injured his shoulder and is unable to do anything for the next six months. With time on his hands, he takes Ash's offer to work at his gym and help train some new fighters. On his first day of work, he never expected to see Violet there. It seems his feelings for her that he had all those years ago never went away. Linc is ready to fight for his Vee and make her feel alive again. Knowing about her attach, he's willing to take things as slow as she needs as long as she's doing it with him.

Although he was a stupid, horny jerk in the beginning, I couldn't help but love his character. He managed to prove himself over and over again, and never backed down. He was fighting for Violet, whether she wanted him to or not.

This story is about overcoming fears and fighting for what you love. In the end, everything worked out for the best and I could not have been anymore happier about it, This romance was deep and the chemistry sizzling, there were a few moments I had to fan myself, it was so hot. There couldn't have been two people more perfect for one another.

I don’t class this book as cheating, because technically it’s not. But the hero was already in love with the heroine while having sex twice with OW. The last time the heroine heard them having sex in the changing room of the gym and see the couple walking out. The hero notices her and just then he realized he fucked up big time. Not when he was having sex with OW, no only when he sees the heroine he knows he messed things up. Ya think? He gives good grovel, but I think she gave in way too soon. Of course they weren’t in a relationship at the time of “cheating” but I like my heroes celibate, especially when he is already emotionally into the heroine.

Besides that it’s a good addition to the series. I loved reading this book as most other books in this series. My overall favorite is still Quake though.

Not going to lie, this was a tough one to read. The story focuses on Violet and her recovery from being viciously sexually assaulted (off page) I normally do not read books about SA because I hate the topic but Linc also arrived on my pet peeve list as well. I HATE IT, FREAKING HATE IT when the MMC is into the FMC but because he is unsure of her feelings about him, he goes off and fucks (Multiple Times) some vindictive, nasty, made up barbie doll. This book left a bad feeling in my mouth and I will not be reading the others.

An emotionally endearing, heartfelt and sweet romance. I'll admit there was a moment where I was a little upset with Lincoln but the way he treated Violet took that all away. These two definitely belong together. I enjoyed every moment of this cute story.

Crash (The Beat and The Pulse Book 3)
Amity Cross

5 moving and emotional brilliant stars

Ok – I LOVE this woman. Her series are absolutely brilliant. I have no idea what swims around in that head of hers but its fantastic.
Crash is the story I have been waiting for. Well to be honest Im waiting for all the guys to get their story but this one was a very important addition that we as fans needs to know. I mean needed to know. This is Lincoln and Violets story.

Violet Fuller, twenty four years old, has been basically in recluse after her tragic ordeal. I don’t really want to say what because it could be a spoiler. You technically don’t have to read the prior books but you should. I say that was all series because it simply gives you a deeper connection to the characters. Amity gives you insight as to who the characters are and where they stand in this group of friends and family. There is enough detail to understand who is who. I also love the reference to a book that I absolutely devoured. Violet is an avid reader and was engrossed in the book Beautiful Bastard in one of the chapters. Love that! Love that book!

Violet has been encouraged to get out. Take some baby steps. Ash, her brother, has just opened up Pulse and offers Violet a job doing the books and managing the office. Ren is still helping her dad out at Beat and doing what she can but Pulse is up and running and running well. It seems like the perfect place for Violet to get her feet wet without getting too far out of her comfort zone. Ash will be there and the office is upstairs from the gym floor. Violet believes she can do this until she finds out the one and only man she has ever felt anything for is going to be there. Lincoln Hayes.

Lincoln is on leave from the fighting circuit doing rehab on his shoulder. At the encouragement of his twin brother Dean who is still in Sydney with Coach he heads to Pulse to see if Ash will give him a job. Something to do while he’s held up. His relationship with Ash was also better with him than his brother Dean so maybe there was a chance. And maybe while there he might just get to see Violet; the girl who seemed out of reach at 16 when she used to come and watch the Ash fight. All these years later she is still as beautiful as ever but her past is something he doesn’t know how to break through.
Violet’s journey is an incredible one. Lincoln is there and he is a really gentle soul even though his demeanor is that of a MMA fighter. Lincoln’s character blew me away. I don’t want to elaborate too much because then you will know what Violet was going through and too much of being too close to giving away spoilers. Let me tell you though this is one amazing release. Violet and Lincoln will move you, they will consume you and they will make you squirm in your seat. I just cannot get over Lincoln. I never ever thought this man could be written into the character he was and is. Just absolutely phenomenal.

I love Amity because you feel as if you belong in this circle of friends and family. You are rooting for all of them to get exactly what they want. I also love the person Violet becomes; a strong woman. A woman who you see transform into a force who knows what she wants and what she derserves. Fan Freaking Tastic!

I love all Amity's books. You cant go wrong with any of them.

Review to appear on Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets blog on release day. I received Crash as an ARC in return for an honest review. Thank you Amity! -- Release date is September 22nd.

~*~ Obsessed by Books arc given in exchange for an honest review ~*~

"In that split second, my heart felt like it was going to burst. I was in trouble. I already knew it, but I wasn't getting out of it..I was in lust with Lincoln Hayes for life without parole."

Snatching glimpses of Violet Fuller in previous books in The Beat and The Pulse series this is her time to step into the limelight. Little sister to the mighty Ash she has been used against him as she was his only weakest, having been raped by his rival and left to suffer the consequences. Valiantly trying to move past the pain and trauma of the past she is proud of her brother and all he has accomplished against the odds but yearns for her happily ever after. Trapped in her small bubble of safety Ash encourages to push herself and expand her perimeters. Together with the support of Ren and her counsellor Violet takes small steps towards conquering her all consuming fear...

A careless injury benches Lincoln from fighting so he returns home to rest and takes the opportunity to catch up with Ren and Ash now that things have settled for the pair. Just in time for the grand opening of Ash's new gym, they come to a mutually beneficial agreement. Linc agrees to help with the training sessions and Ash has a recognised fighter representing and promoting his gym. Eager to bump into Violet Linc is set to get to work! Caught up in emotions from years ago Linc still views Violet as the unobtainable...whilst she feels she is just too damaged to be the woman of his dreams.

This is a softer, more subtle read compared to the other books in the series. The tone reflects the main character personality...Violet is quietly under control on the surface and a hive of activity inside. Her underlying courage and strength is wonderful to read. Having suffered needlessly Violet has struggled to come to terms with her feelings of shame and horror. Haunted daily by the violent events and the heavy price both Ash and herself paid as a result Violet has decided to live and recapture her old self. Hope sparks to life just going in close proximity to her teenage crush, the woman she had the promise to be waking up from her slumber and fighting to emerge once more. The fight in this story is within Violet. Determined to make it to the last round Violet has set her sights on the prize - Lincoln. As always nothing is ever easy and Lincoln has suffered a few knocks to his head based on his lack of judgement in this story! Making stupid mistakes he has much to prove and a long way to go before he can keep his promise and help Violet learn to live again. I never thought hairspray could be so romantic! Will they, won't they? Can this bull headed pair overcome all the obstacles in their path?

A four and a half star 1...2...3 and you're out read.

I love this series and Crash though it is different characters from the first two books does not disappoint. I was a little in awe of the authors compassion in writing this story that has such a difficult subject matter and honestly a few times I just stopped to absorb the message in her words.

We met Violet in Pulse and learned of the trauma she had been through and the lasting effects that the assault had on her and Ash's life, and as her brother starts to make a new life for himself Violet realises that she has to too. As she visits with her therapist we learn of the fears that still hold her prisoner and it is these visits through the book that make for some inspirational writing from the author. With encouragement from her therapist and Ash, Violet prepares to re-enter society and see if she can learn to regain her life and so she agrees to take a position at Pulse, Ash's new gym.

Lincoln is another familiar character that I really liked from the previous books and was so happy to learn that this was to be his story. Lincoln is carrying an injury that has forced him to return home from competitive training in Sydney and finding himself at a loose end he agrees to help out as a trainer at the gym for Ash. He is surprised to find Violet working at the gym after learning of her story previously from Ash and he is considerate in his approach to Violet even if he messes it up a few times initially. Lincoln is a great character, he is perfect for Violet and I honestly fell for him more and more as the story unfolded.

We learn that Lincoln and Violet both had a thing for each other as teens that they never acted on before Violet was assaulted. That attraction is quickly reignited when they encounter each other at the gym but Violet is quick to dismiss any hope of being able to make the even bigger step of a relationship as she struggles to cope with daily interaction alone. Soon though they become friends and Lincoln is just lovely in helping Violet build confidence and strength and is just what she needs but will she be able to take the bigger step into a relationship? Just as things seem to be working out, Lincoln has to return to Sydney and Violet is left to face up to her fears once again, can she take the bigger step to show Lincoln he is what she needs? Things don't go to plan and Violet and Lincoln are left reeling from a misunderstanding and Lincoln is left to fight for Violet and I was right there with him.

I am so looking forward to the next book in this series already.

I flicked through books one and two again before I settled in to read this, I know I didn’t have to be I absolutely love this series, so it was indulgence really! If you haven’t read the other book then you really should before you start this one because some vital back history is in Pulse.
This is Violet and Lincoln’s story and I think it was the most poignant of them all so far.
Violet has a tragic past. One that has her cowering, hiding away from not only everyone around her but also from herself. She is safe in her room, surrounded by the friends she finds within the pages of the fiction that she holds so dear but her fear is denying her a chance at living again, but it is one that she is unwilling to take. She is merely surviving and that is blatantly obvious to all those around her.
But her brother Ash and his partner Ren are doing everything they can to make her transition back from the brink of despair as easy as they possibly can but no-one knows just how difficult it is when they haven’t had to experience what she has been through. Turning what she should do, into what she can do is not an easy step to take.
Linc and Violet have been friends since they were kids, mere teenagers, but it never had the opportu8nity to grow into anything more, despite the fact that they both had feelings for each other. But here we are years later and Linc is the man that is slowly giving her a reason to put on foot in front of the other each morning.
His gentle demeanour, his patience and his love is abundant and he stole not only my breath but my heart. He gently coaxed Violet back into the land of the living, one very time step at a time.
He showed attention when it was necessary, devotion when required and attitude when nothing else would do. He gave her enough room to breathe but not enough room to run, the man was epic!
I lived each moment they were together slightly holding my breath waiting for their guard to fall and their time together to crash around them. I wanted nothing like that, I wanted then to find their forever but Amity has a way with words that had me bouncing with anticipation.
The journey they took was exceptional, the intensity of the storytelling for first class and the drama that I devoured will keep me sated for a while to come.
Amity Cross you are a beaut! Your create magic with each and every character that you bring into my life but with Violet and Linc, you gave me a woman I could truly admire and a man that was impossible not to fall in love with.

“He was right about one thing. He looked hot almost naked with his eyes covered like that. I could suddenly see what all the fuss was about.”

5 stars!!! I absolutely love this series!!! Each book is hotter than the next and this book proved that with every page! I love Amity Cross and her writing!!!

Violet Fuller has been through a lot in her short life.
After being viciously attacked, she’s hidden herself away from the world for the past five years, fearing everyone and everything. That’s until the day she finally gathers the courage to go outside.
Violet decides to take a job at her brother Ash’s new gym, Pulse, to reacquaint herself with the male dominated world of MMA. She used to be her brother’s biggest supporter, going to all his matches and cheering him on. There’s no one he trusts more to help him run the admin side of his new business, but when Violet walks through the door for the first time, she sees someone she wasn’t expecting.
Handsome, AUFC fighter, Lincoln Hayes.
The same Lincoln Hayes that she’s had a crush on since she was sixteen.
All muscled, disciplined, hot as hell, six-foot two of him. He’s definitely not a boy anymore.
Things are about to become more difficult than Violet had hoped. So much for easing back into reality.
And Lincoln? He’s only got one thing on his mind.
How do you win over a woman who is afraid of everything?
Simple.
You fight.

I fell in love with Violet and Lincoln in the first two books and I’m so glad that they got their own book!!! In this book we deal with Violet’s struggle with trying to join life out in the real world after her brutal rape. She agrees to go to a party that her brother is throwing and she’s thrown off guard when the man, Lincoln, the boy she’s had a crush on since high school. Both are too foolish to let the other know how they feel about each other. But when they finally stop denying their feelings…..BOOM…...explosions!!! This book is so sweet and steamy, just the way I like my books!!! I mean I’ll always read whatever Amity writes, but this series, is off the charts amazing!!

I love how Amity Cross incorporates heavy, sensitive issues into complex and steamy story lines in all of her books; she exposes the raw emotions that are felt in a way that is in your face enough for the readers to understand how exposed her characters feel due to what they went through and the manner in which they strive to live not to simply exist.

Amity Cross does a great job of illustrating Violet's fears and insecurities in Crash. She is someone who has been held captive by the scars of her past for five years now, and she can't just jump right into interacting with society or trying to find love because her fear consumes her…it’s a tangible idea…it lives and breathes in her and forces her to reject society and all of the risks that could happen by being on the outside. For Violet, her recovery is a process...a grueling sometimes devastating process and Cross focuses on Violet's recovery and its highs and lows and provides hope for women who feel as afraid and insecure as she does.

I always liked Lincoln in Ash and Ren's books, and I still do now, but I definitely wanted to throttle him for thinking with his dick instead his brain early on, but I guess I would be a bit skittish in knowing how to handle Violet and her past, so I can absolutely forgive him for his choices because he more than makes up for it with the sensitive way he handles Violet once he realizes what she needs. Lincoln, with his patience and care, helps Violet to live again…to see what sexual intimacy can be like when you give yourself to someone wholeheartedly and he helps her to take risks and be fearless.

Violet’s transformation plays out so well in the story and Lincoln changes as well as he begins to understand what and who he wants. Their journey is definitely emotional – it moves forward and back a number of times, but once Violet and Lincoln figure each other out and Violet starts to heal through honesty and hard work, their chemistry ignites and readers see the beautiful and amazing woman that Violet is.

Book Review - Crash by Amity Cross - 4 great spin off from Beat Stars

One of my favourites series I’ve read this year got a spin off outside of the main characters. Yes ladies and gents we finally get Violet and Lincoln’s story and it’s been worth the wait.

Broken after being used as a pawn against her brother, Violets been hiding not living for years. Damaged by the abuse done to her, she’s hidden herself away with the assistance of her brother Ash.

But no more. Energised by Ash’s relationship with Ren, Violet starts to think of new beginnings. With the help of Ash and her therapist, she starts to escape her self built prison.

Taking a job at Ash’s gym, she’s floored to find Lincoln working there.. Her sixteen year old self crushed heavily on him and now he’s back, new feelings are starting to awaken.

Can she fix what’s broken and can the man see beyond the broken pieces to the woman underneath?

I loved Lincs and Vee’s love story. I’ve been longing them to get together since I read Beat and starting envisaging them as as pair.

The only part I didn’t like about this story was the additional person thrown into the mix. I truly didn’t believe their story needed the added drama. Sometimes less is more, and I believe without her there, I would have had even more enjoyment from this book.

Violet and Lincoln deserved a beautiful happily ever after and the story wouldn’t have been lacking if they had been given that from just working through their own issues.

I loved the way Amity writes. Taking a story of a seemingly broken and weak woman, we are quickly shown the strength she has inside and has displayed to come this far. And even with a sensitive storyline there is some great banter between the characters and good reflection of their flaws. Because at the end of the day, we are all perfectly flawed.

This series has so much more to give us. I can’t wait for all of the other side characters stories to come out. You can be certain they will be high up my tbr list, and with over 1100 titles on my kindle, that’s a reflection that she really is that good a writer.
