I did not like the book! While usually I like fantasy books this just in my opinion was not very intriguing..

This is my first Bella Carson book and I know that it will not be my last! The premise of this shifter series is that there are 3 kinds of shifters: those who find their mates and live happy lives, those who don’t whose animal sides wither away from loneliness and disparity causing the human to die, and those who’ve lost touch with their humanity from being alone and become crazy and need to be put down because they’ve become dangerous like rabid animals. This story is about Clay, an alpha who has resigned himself to his death because his bear is in despair when a Hunter, Sam shows up on the scene. Sam is initially there because she’s looking for a creature that tore about some human campers in the small town of Bright Falls. When her lead, a ranger named Tammy proves to be immovable, Sam decides to go into town, get a room, and stake out the creature suspecting it to be a shifter. She’s never had a run-in with a shifter who wasn’t rabid so initially she thinks that they all need to be put down until Clay saves her from the real culprit. Even before she met him, he was a major player in her fantasies and from their introduction; they knew they had to have each other. Even though she didn’t understand the motivation, I liked how she took the initiative to mating him. Usually, that is almost always left up to the males in PNR stories so a woman taking the lead in that regard was refreshing in its own way.

Although I got this story in exchange for an honest review, I really enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading the stories of more of the characters that were introduced in this story.

Nice read

My first read from this author, but it definitely will not be my last. Story flowed and characters interacted seamlessly. "Jaws" and Clay were so cute together. Loved his faith in making things work and finding a solution to theirpending seperation. Clay has a great crew of from the looks of it. Would have liked to get to know them a bit better and how they interacted, but there's always the next book.

Omg, loved it!!!!!

Such a lovely story of a bear shifter bar owner / fireman and a monster hunter slayer tough as nails fighter who meet when Sam, our heroine comes to Clays Washington State town to find and kill a monster. They meet, and sparks fly!!!! Wonderful story!!!! Very well worth reading!!!!

A great introduction to a new series. Something is terrifying the residents of Bright Falls and Sam is there to rid them of the horror. But will she find something more?
Clay is sliwly dying inside. It's been so long he's searched for a reason to live and time is running out.
Bella Carson writes an evolving touching and entrancing story with mystery mayhem and manmeat galore!

I was given this arc for an honest review, And I totally loved it. Well written and brilliantly paced I found the characters were realistic and brilliantly portrayed. I can't wait to read the next one in this series. If you enjoy reading shapeshifter paranormal romance then you will love this series.

Sam was hot on the trail of a monster that killed several people. That was her job as a hunter after all. No time for romance. But for some reason Bright Falls kept calling her and she couldn't figure. Until.....

Really great start to this series. Great character's, romance and suspense. Interesting story line between Clay the shifter and Sam the hunter. Can't wait to read more!!
