Stevie is a tattoo artist and a free spirit. She’s covered in tattoos, cusses like a sailor, and is quite brash. She lives payday to payday, can barely pay her rent, and uses a bicycle as her only mode of transportation. Every man in her sordid past has abused her, and she’s reached the end of her rope. Only attracted to tattooed alpha males, and primarily bikers, she begins to wonder if her choices in men have been poor. One day as she stands in a torrential downpour without a ride, a handsome man in a suit offers her a lift in his Porsche.

And she can’t help but wonder…

Wilson is a successful businessman and a self-made millionaire. He’s handsome, intelligent, loyal, and unlike many other men with similar interests and wealth, he’s got an extremely colorful personality.

But he also has a secret.

While having one of the worst days of his life, he meets Stevie. Immediately, his views on matters, and on life, change.

And he chooses to change her life in return.

But Stevie and Wilson are from two totally different worlds - worlds that historically don’t mesh well.

Can a self-made millionaire find love in someone who has nothing to offer him but herself?

Can a woman who has only known pain, abuse, and inconsistency see value in stability and sincerity?

Quite possibly only if both halves are willing to meet somewhere in the middle.

Pretty In Ink is a stand-alone modern day Cinderella story. It has no cheating, no sex outside the relationship, and a heartwarming HEA. Be forewarned, this is erotic romance, and it is intended for audiences who are mature, and at least over 18 years of age.

Cinderella Porn.

The dedication of this book sets the pace of what is to come.

"One never knows what may be beneath the surface of the skin. This book is dedicated to anyone who has had the guts to see beyond the exterior, and love someone for who they are, not what they appear to be."

Stevie is the "new" tattoo artist on the block in Book I of the Bodies Ink and Steel series, and the heroine of Book II. Please note, this is a stand-alone by all accounts even though it is Book II in the series. Loud, foul mouthed, brash, and without a filter, she takes no shit from anyone, male or female. She is NOT a weak heroine.

But she only dates bikers. Bad asses. Alphas.

Or does she?

One day while shopping and caught in a rainstorm, a man offers her a ride home. "Wilson", a man in a Porsche, is exactly what she doesn't like about life.

Until she gets to know him.

Torn between following her own set of inner rules and following her heart, she reluctantly agrees to a date. And from there, things get pretty damned interesting.

It seems "Mr. Wilson" is a rich - and I do mean RICH - businessman. And in addition to being rich, he's actually a nice guy.

I expected Wilson to go all "Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde", but it never happened. He's just a great guy with a shit-ton of money. And, unlike most, he isn't afraid to spend it on the woman of his dreams.

But, as all men do, he has a secret. A pretty big one.

And, a quite interesting one.

And so the story unfolds, and takes my little heart with it.

Hot.

Steamy.

Airplane sex.

Cinderella story.

It's a tattoo, it's supposed to hurt.

Suck your cock for a donut, Mister?

Office sex 20 stories up.

Let's do dinner.

Can I interest you in a helicopter ride?

This book kept me interested, happy, full of love, wondering what the hell happened, believing in fighting for what is right, and clapping for the H and h both, all the while, making me laugh at every other turn.

Where's the "ten star" button?

This book deserves them.

One to read, re-read, and read again, "Pretty In Ink" is just that.

Pretty.

And.

In Ink.

Just don't forget.

The name's Stevie, Bitch.

Scott Hildreth’s Pretty in Ink is Book 2 of Bodies, Ink & Steel series. Stevie Satterfield is a tattoo artist who has just moved from the West Coast to start a new life without the abuse from her past. She believes her dating needs can only be met by Harley riding bad boys and sadly not many of them. On a rainy day at a grocery store She meets a Suit, a pretty one, and decides to see what is different.
Asher Wilson is a self-made man who is beyond lonely and has been most of his life. On the day he runs into Stevie, He believes his life is changing and it does, just not the way he had planned.
Stevie comes to accept “Living on the cusp of being white trash and seeing he clearly lived somewhere in complete contrast made me believe the differences between Wilson and me were enough that I would never get used to the things he may do to, for, or with me.”
Wilson’s surprised that “My father said a relationship is no different than a good romance novel. A fight, separation, angst, and an eventual reunion are all required to make it great.”
In Pretty In Ink Scott Hildreth steps out of his angst driven twisted stories and takes Wilson’s father definition of a great romance to the top. Pretty in Ink not only has two opposite but pretty main characters, but the whole story turns out to be Pretty—great, unexpected, and satisfying. Scott Hildreth takes a turn in his storytelling that a satisfying surprise. Pretty In Ink is a standalone read with less of the gritty bite we usually get from Scott Hildreth. It is a must read in the growth of Scott Hildreth’s writing style and I can not wait to see what is next.

Thanks Scott Hildreth & Good Writing

I don’t even know how to rate this book. I like that she was very experienced and hero came off as he wasn’t as much as she was. He hasn’t had sex for 10 years. But the sex scenes were a bit cringy especially the ones towards the end. I didn’t mind she was a bitch but calling OWs whores are no no for me. Also how the author made his mother an evil person but in the end she was ok with their relationship?

Five Beautiful Tatted Stars!!

Stevie is an incredibly beautiful, unique, and honestly genuine woman, with the mouth of a sailor! LOL With her letting you know “It’s Stevie, bitch!” She doesn’t put up with other people’s stupidity, nor does she let people slide on being rude or jackasses. She will call you on your shit and holds firm to her own set of rules. I love that her personality is portrayed as colorful as her hair and tattoos are, you never know what will come out of her mouth next, and it makes it so fun reading her story. One of my favorite moments is very early when she and Riley (who we met in Blurred Lines) are talking about love…

“She glanced over each shoulder and leaned into the center of the booth. “Have you, uhhm. You know, masturbated while you think of him?” she whispered. “Yeah, but I’ve also masturbated to thoughts of Charlie Hunnan, Johnny Depp, and Chris Hemsworth, but I don’t love any of them,” I said with a laugh. “You’re impossible,” she sighed. “I’m realistic,” I said…” –Stevie (talking with Riley)

Just hilarious moments that make you wonder, how naïve some people see love as and others that show you she isn’t one to just fall in love for the sake of falling in love. You have to get to know the person and over time see what happens. And with Wilson, who isn’t her regular type of guy, she is willing to take that chance to get to know him. And their getting to know one another is absolutely breath taking and some of the most erotic, yet so off the wall silly, but still in the firm set of reality, that makes this an epic and wonderful love story. As mentioned by the author in the synopsis, a modern day erotic Cinderella story. #soHOT

Wilson is your quite yet enigmatic millionaire who is struggling with his own issues when he first meets Stevie. Yet, with her bright personality and beauty manages to capture his eye and heart. Not conforming to social norms and doing as his heart leads him, he and Stevie form a romance that will have you looking at jelly donuts with total longing. #iwantadonut When the heart knows what it wants, and the old adage ‘opposites attract’, you can’t help but fall in love with Stevie and Wilson and their journey. Each with their own parental drama and some over the top actions to drive them apart, Stevie and Wilson will make your heart FEEL like love is worth everything it’s said to be…to be protected, cherished and fought for. I mean what other declaration of love would you need than Stevie’s self-assessment of their fucking….LOL…

“Being fucked by Wilson was an entirely new experience. I now felt like all my other sexual encounters were me being fucked with, and not being truly fucked. With Wilson, there was no doubt in my mind what he was doing. He was fucking me. And he was fucking me good.” –Stevie

So don’t delay, #oneclick and get ready to fall in love with Stevie and Wilson in “Pretty in INK”! Bikers have nothing on a Millionaire!! Tattoos are sexy and beautiful, and love can be found if you’re living with your eyes open!

GIDDY—Yes that is how I feel right now… Damn, I do not think I have ever felt that emotion at the end of a Hildreth novel. Which proves that this author has done it yet again, surprised this reader with a unique story. I do not think I laughed at a book this much in awhile, and laughter is ALWAYS a huge bonus for this reader. This story, for me, was about two people finding their perfect partner, and that the result of their search truly never had to do with what they saw on the outside and everything to do with who they grew to become, together. They were not only living their reality they welcomed it unconditionally.

The story starts with Stevie Satterfield and I can not possible do a description of this character any form of justice, so you MUST read this book to understand the experience of Stevie… The below picture is a small glimpse into the attitude, that embodies Stevie, and I am sure you will grow to LOVE her as much as Wilson. One of the most touching parts of this novel for me was to experience the love that Stevie received from Wilson; the love was in the details.

Wilson was EXACTLY what Stevie needed and what made the story so delightful to read was watching her discover this, to think outside her box. I loved this character from the start but at the same time I loved that he stayed true to himself. He did not become a different person to try and get the girl. I loved the inner dialogue that the author gave us when it came to Wilson; we were able experience his journey of falling in love and see the vulnerable side of this strong man.

I am not sure if everyone does this but when I read a story I have a tendency to see if at any level it compares to my own experiences and for a big chunk of this book I thought I could not relate to the “new” love that this couple was in the middle of, as I have been with my husband for over 20 years. What this story gave me though was the idea that I am in love with love and to quote Wilson’s dad, “… a relationship is no different than a good romance novel. A fight, separation, angst, and an eventual reunion are all required to make it great.” AND Mr. Hildreth this novel was BEYOND GREAT from begin to end. Stevie and Wilson work together, period end of discussion.
Do yourself a favor and read this book. See if you will fall in love with love and embrace your own reality as Stevie and Wilson did theirs. I know I am…. Well Done!! *clapping*
That is it that is all I got.

I love this "modern day Cinderella story." I love the lessons learned in this book. I wish we could all live by them. For example: Don't judge someone by the way they look and What would you be if money didn't matter.
This book made me think of all my book friends including the author of this book. We have all become close friends and we have no idea how the other lives. Some of us have never even seen what the others look like. Some of us could be rich or poor and you know what...none of us give a shit! We love each other for our minds and our common interest in books. We love each other for how we boost each other as individuals. I could call, txt or message some of these people and they would give me their time. Some of them don't even know my life, don't know how I live or who I am outside of our book world, but would still be there for me just the same. You know why? Because we don't judge. This is what I love about this book. Stevie went against everything she thought she wanted and gave Wilson a chance. Wilson was at the end of life as he knew it and one look at Stevie and everything changed for him. She made him feel loved, he made her feel beautiful. Seeing Stevie with her unfiltered mouth, brass balls and sleeves of tattoos one wouldn't think that her and Wilson would "fit." Wilson being filthy rich, conventional in his day to day life and never swearing was in need of a woman just like Stevie. Although he didn't know it until he found he outside of a grocery store in the pouring rain. One look was all it took for their Cinderella story to begin. I love that Wilson loved her unconditionally, especially after all Stevie has ever known is men that have used her and treated her bad. They both deserved each other, they both needed one another, they just didn't know it.
This book was another fantastic read. It had some of the past characters in it and as usual a HEA! I hope I know who's book is coming next, and let's just say I am hoping that it will be here faster than Lightning!
SD, thank you for sharing your words and life lessons with us all and I wanted to tell you...Stevie....yah....she has made up for Sam's shortcomings! Her Names Stevie Bitch and I Love Her!!!

Pretty In Ink was fun, flirty, filthy and exactly what I needed for a quick, palate cleansing read!

Stevie and Wilson are polar opposites. She’s a tattoo artist, covered in ink. He’s prim and proper and wears $400 loafers. He’s the epitome of uptight, she likes bikers, rough and ready, party hardy types. But what if what she’s always wanted isn’t what she needed?

This is a story of looking beyond the surface. When you look underneath the clothes and the inked skin, you never know what you’ll find. Stevie was stunningly gorgeous. Wilson needed Stevie in his life, even though he may not have known it. And she needed him in her life.

The chemistry was off the charts. The banter was fun, and the donuts…well, awesome It’s amazing how when you open yourself up and don’t expect anything, the right person may fall into your lap! Just be open to the time and the place.

There are certain words that were part of Stevie's vocabulary that I just can’t imagine any woman saying but I was able to overlook it, because maybe she’s just a bit more crude than other women. It’s a bit of her charm, but oy, I still can’t imagine it. Wilson’s history could also have been developed a bit more for me. I think I just wanted MORE!!

Scott’s writing is fun, the editing was good, I didn’t see any major problems; I just wanted to know more about these two! ~ Heather, 4 stars

5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!

This book is just another reason why Scott Hildreth is one of my favorite authors. A modern day Cinderella tale that will have you laughing, crying, pissed as $@it, swooning, and fanning yourself all wrapped in a "Pretty In Ink" bow. I absolutely love Stevie. Underneath her foul-mouthed ways is just a girl who wanted to be loved. Admittedly, I was a little leary of Wilson. He just seemed to good to be true. I can admit now that I was so very wrong about him.

You don't have to read Book One in this series to enjoy the story but I do recommend it. It gives you better insight into other characters that make appearance through this story.

here is so much that I loved about Stevie and Wilson's story. First let me just say that Stevie is my absolute favorite chick that Scott has created. She is brash and bold and I loved every bit of her. On the flip side she is sweet and wants so much to be loved. Seriously I heart her big. Then Wilson comes into her life and shakes it up nice and good. He was her match in every way that she couldn't have imagined. I really loved their story. Scott totally rocked it out.

I give Pretty in INK 5 hearts!

“…the next man I settled down with was going to treat me right, fuck me right, and be able to stand on his own two feet without my income as a crutch.
And I really didn’t care how many men I had to force out of my house at gunpoint to find him.”

Opposites do attract. This book is a perfect definition of it. Stevie and Wilson are from two different worlds, two very different people whose on the far side of each pole, who met on a random rainy day that have for some reason change the course of each of their lives.

Scott Hildreth’s book have become my comfort book. It’s when I’m feeling so skeptic of the world and I wanted to read of a world’s perspective from a different view that I’d definitely pick his book and read. I always love the wisdom he imparts in his books and the different perception of his characters as well as the metaphors and comparisons he had about certain day to day things that we see all around.

I am always amaze that every time I read a Scott Hildreth’s book, it always made me smile when I reach the end and that it always made me feel better. This book is just proof if it. Stevie and Wilson’s love is just something that makes me think of random strangers I’ve met along the way, whom may have change my path one way or another.

Stevie is one crazy woman who found the one person who could tame her. And Wilson, has everything in his life yet holds no worth until he found the one person who could save him. This is one beautiful love story. Fate, destiny, and chances.

“Meeting Asher Wilson convinced me the perfect man is out there waiting for each and every one of us. He may be the exact opposite of what we’ve spent a lifetime looking for, but…
To find out for sure, all we have to is give him a chance.”

P.S. I've had this for awhile but got distracted with Otis! haha

Reviewing on behalf of Relentless book chic’s ramblings and reviews

I was so excited when I found out that the next book in the bodies, ink and steel series would be Stevie’s story and I definitely wasn’t disappointed as it’s another 5 star read. We first met her in book 1, Blurred lines and I knew then that I wanted more of her story as she’s the type of character that everyone can relate to in one way or another.

Stevie loves tattooed bikers, she loves to fuck them and ride with them but they’ve never treated her right and usually abused her. All her life she’s been treated a certain way by people, men in particular, so she isn’t expecting that to change. She loves working at Blurred lines and was hoping a fresh start in a new city would be good for her, as well as an escape from the people in her past. A simple trip to the grocery store proved to be the best thing she ever did.

On the surface, (Asher) Wilson appeared to have it all, money, fast cars and millions of dollars in the bank. Wilson was having a bad day, well more like a bad life until he met someone so different from himself, he just had to find out more. Stevie definitely stood out from the crowd with her bright hair, her arms covered in tattoos and cursing at the rain because she’d have to cycle in to get home with her groceries.

Wilson introduced himself but didn’t exactly get a warm reception from Stevie who expected him to be just like everyone else. Despite this, she agreed to getting a lift home with him and even agreed to a date which was the beginning of something neither of them expected. I don’t want to spoil the story by saying too much but as the author described it is accurate, it’s a modern day story of Cinderella and Wilson is a perfect mix of all the Alpha male qualities we all love.

As usual with a Hildreth book, there is more to every story than simply just the words on the page. There is a hidden message, a deeper meaning that is interpreted in a different way by each individual reading it. For me personally, it was an inspirational story of hope, love and the happily ever after that all women want but some only dream about. It teaches you to look beyond the stereotypes of people based on their looks and to truly see the person inside, who they want to be and who they can be with the right person at their side.

I highly recommend this series to everyone and if you haven’t started it yet, there’s time to catch up as this is only book 2 of what I hope will be at least 6 books as I love all the characters so far.

After reading book one in this series (Blurred lines) I was desperately and eagerly awaiting this hot new release from the amazingly talented Scott Hildreth, and let me tell you it's was worth the wait, from the second I met Stevie in book one I knew her story would be a good one.

Stevie is a tough nut!! A hot feisty colourful and tattooed Cinderella. Riley hits the nail on the head when she describes her as an M&M hard on the outside sweet on the inside.
Stevie thinks she is only compatible with bad ass bad boys who ride Harley's but for some reason is still struggling to find her Mr Right.

On a rainy day in Kansas all that changes when she meets pretty rich boy "Wilson".

Wilson is the complete ying to Stevie's Yang but although there are some bumps along the way this really is an amazing hot love story about opposites attracting!

I love these two together from Stevie referring to Wilson as Tom Hanks friend in Castaway and Wilson retaliating in referring to Stevie as Stevie wonder they just warmed me.

From the hot scenes, trading donuts for road head and the Donut dinner first date I just couldn't stop turning the pages.

I also really love the friendship between Riley and Stevie. The banter and affection between the two of them is fantastic and who wouldn't want these two as friends.

This is a little different from Scotts other writing but it's fresh, extremely well written and shows his growth as an author. I for one highly recommend this book and can't wait for more from Scott.

This is a stand alone but I would recommend reading book one just cause it's fabulous too!!

Great Job Scott!!!!!

A very surprising and not your normal everyday Cinderella story!! "Pretty In Ink" is book #2 in the( Bodies, Ink and Steel series).
I suggest you read Blurred Lines first but this book is a stand alone.
Stevie is not your average woman. She describes her life as F..ffted up as could be. Then she meets Asher "Wilson" in the rain and he is everything she normally would NEVER see herself with. NO Tat's, NO MC, NO foul language and Stevie doesn't see why Wilson would want to be with someone like her. I don't want to give too much away or ramble on but the two of them will surprise you. It definitely proves that "opposites DO attract."
This story is a wonderful story that had me smiling, crying, pissed and surprised all rolled into one. As usual Scott graced us with his particular writing style I love that about his writings and I CANT WAIT for the future books to come by Mr. Hildreth. Thanks for another wonderful book Scott! :-) "Suitcase"

A 3.5 round up to 4 because it's Hildreth. Characters are consistent with his always deep, unique and complex creations. It felt like someone else wrote the ending here though. It was too easy and predictable to be Hildreth. Still, he's a one click author, always will be.

Mediocre book.

I was pleased that the heroine was more experienced than the hero, but I didn't really like her. She was too brash. It's as if the author couldn't make her like sex without being bitchy. That wasn't cool.

Asher hasn't had sex in 10 years and even then he'd been in a relationship that pleased his parents. He was still tied to the apron strings, but a little tough too. He could have been better had the author tweaked his character a bit more. Sometimes he came off as sweet and other times to cringey.

Loved Asher Wilson and Stevie Satterfield's opposites attract story. H/h were both fighting their own demons but together they were able to fight for each other until Asher's cruel mother did the unthinkable ...

Stevie Satterfield is a tattoo artist having just moved from the West Coast. She’s extremely animated and energetic, and when she wasn’t, she was giving her opinion or introducing some new random topic.

She gravitates towards a certain type. Bad boys. Alpha males. Tattoos. Loud motorcycles. Rough sex. Those were the qualities she was most attracted to.

She’s only dated men who used her as their personal punching bag—and only bikers – never anyone who has treated her with respect.

Asher Wilson, as a child, was starved of attention by emotionally detached parents. He dreamt of spending time with them, of being allowed to enjoy life as the child he desperately wanted to be. His childhood slipped away, without so much as a trip to the park, a single soccer match, or a birthday party with his friends.

He was raised in a disciplinary home by parents who placed tremendous value in protecting their only child from the drugs, violence, and mayhem they believed to be prevalent in the streets of the city he grew up in.

Receiving his education at home, having little exposure to other children, and being raised by a caretaker, while his parents either worked or socialised should have left him mentally deranged. For some reason, it didn’t. Now, as an adult, he describes himself as cocky, confident, and extremely wealthy. Most who didn’t know me portrayed me as being an arrogant man, but nothing could be further from the truth.

He’s the antithesis of what she’s always said she likes in men.

They’re from two separate, opposite and different worlds. For ten years before Stevie entered his life, he literally lived the life of a monk. Whatever he lacked from abstinence he makes up in fervour.

No one would ever garner his parents approval. Their thoughts of people in the Midwest were that they weren’t good enough for me, even though they had lived in the Midwest for the majority of their adult lives.

He showers Stevie with gifts, a BMW (she rides a bike—a bicycle), flowers, buys her $20K worth of clothes. The clothes and the auto made her feel treasured, beautiful.
“So you think I make the clothes even more beautiful?” I asked.
“I believe the clothes are a means of allowing you to believe you’re as beautiful as you truly are.”
“He was truly a wonderful man. I felt like crying. To go from a man who would punch me in the face for not having dinner ready to being treated like royalty wasn’t an easy thing”.

Stevie’s been abused, mistreated, never finding a man who treated her well. She’d been with her ex Bart the longest, and after a few years his true colours were ‘painfully’ obvious. Even through the beatings, she had still hoped things would eventually change. One day she decided black eyes and a broken heart was too high of a price to pay for anything.

The day Stevie met Asher, he planned to end his life. He felt alone. It had been ten years since he had sex and ten years since he had been in a relationship. He had never been in love. He’d never felt that he’d been loved, with the exception of Claire (his caretaker), and she had long since passed away.

Confessing his mindset to Stevie wasn’t easy, but he felt immediate relief. The thought of losing her was crushing, and explaining his concerns, thoughts, and feelings seemed to slowly provide the exact opposite feeling. In recent years, his only involvement with his parents has been for them to admire his financial portfolio.

“I had reached a point where I was extremely depressed regarding everything. It seemed every day that things got worse, and the pressure to continue became unbearable. After losing the money, I attempted to call my father but the calls were, as always, unanswered. The same with my mother. Several calls went unanswered, but she did text me after the last call. “Call me next week” was her response to the lengthy voicemails I had left her. And, once again, I was alone. More so than ever and at a time I really needed someone. It was the last straw”.

“I was mailing a suicide letter to my parents the day we met.”
“It’s the truth. I had a pistol in the console of the car. I mailed the letter to my mother, and had planned on…” psychologically speaking, discussing his suicidal thoughts was paramount to recovery, but his mother was too self-centred to care.

He’s thirty years old. Worth several hundred million dollars. Ready to end it all before he met her. Why? Because even with all of that money, he was sad and lonely. “You’re worried about what you contribute? You contributed what I was incapable of buying. You contribute life, joy, happiness, promise of a future, and most of all, something I have never really known. Love. You contribute love.”

His mother was a menace, a contemptuous saboteur.
“What exactly did you say to her, Mother?”
“I apologized,” she said.
“That’s not what I asked you,” I said as I reached for the sledgehammer.
I raised the twenty pound hammer over my shoulder and held it there.
“What exactly?”
“Nothing more than an apology,” she responded.
I swung the hammer down into the hood of her car. The hood collapsed in the center, and the edges sprung up as the hammer crushed the steel panel like a tin can.
“Asher, not the Jag,” she cried.
“What exactly?” I demanded.
I swung the hammer through the windshield with such force that the glass fell from the frame and landed inside the car along with the hammer. My mother had her beloved Jaguar since I was a child. An irreplaceable XJ convertible, finding parts to repair it would be impossible if she allowed me to continue much longer.”
“I’m going to swing this into each panel of the car, mother. What did you say?”
I swung the axe into the passenger side fender, burying it ten inches deep, and creating a hole in the steel six inches around. After a long struggle of removing the axe, I it raised over my shoulder again.

“Stop, Asher, please. I told her you were often with prostitutes on Tuesdays, and I hired a girl to go to your house and act like a prostitute while you were meeting with the attorney,” she said in a fairly calm manner.
I swung the axe into the fender and left it in place, buried deep in the structure of the car’s fender.
“You did what?” I fumed.
“I wanted her to leave you alone, so I just…” she paused and began to cry.
There was no doubt in my mind she was crying about the car, and not what she had done.

“I hired a girl from an escort service and gave her $2,500. I told her to wait until her car came down the driveway, sure the tattooed girl would show up sooner or later…”
“And she did. She beat the hell out of the escort, just so you know. Cost your father and I another $20,000 to keep her quiet,” she said.
“Does father know about this?” I asked.
She shook her head.
“Go on,” I said.
“That’s it. She though the girl was a prostitute, and she beat the hell out of her and left,” she said.
“You are a self-centered, selfish, and controlling b*tch, and don’t think for one moment that I won’t tell father everything you did,” I said as I turned away.

Whilst at his attorney’s office (bestowing his company to Andrew, his assistant, business partner of sorts and close friend), his mother contracted an escort from a service to play the part of a prostitute, paying her $2,500, to scare away Stevie. The sad part is that it worked. Insecure and far too eager to react, she ran. Until he catches up with her, having witnesses to corroborate his explanation (including the escort) and all is forgiven.

〰️ The scene involving the police officer was funny as she blubbers all over him and he quickly escapes.
〰️ She refers to Louboutin shoes as “Red-Bottoms”.

They saved each other. This is about looking beyond the surface. Minor grammatical errors.

There’s a grand gesture at the end.

This is book 2 in the Bodies, Ink and Steel series by SD Hildreth. After meeting Stevie in the first book, I wanted to know her story. She was hilarious and had a great attitude. This book has her meeting Wilson, a man so very different than what she is used to, she questions whether to even give him a shot.

So, what this author always brings to the table, is a story. There is lust and s3x and foul language, but beneath it all there is a story. This one is about pealing back the onion layers and looking deeper at a person more than their surface image projects. Neither Stevie or Wilson are who society’s norms expect them to be. They revel in that between each other. But more important, they lift each other up and find love for the first time in their lives.

I totally enjoyed Stevie’s character. Funny, spunky, foul mouthed and s3xually confidant. I found myself waiting to get to her next dialogue so I could see what came out her mouth next. She is brave and willing to put her heart on the line once again. Wilson, however, was just kind of ok for me. He balances Stevie out. He is a good man with no pretenses despite his wealth. His quirkiness was endearing but I didn’t get a sense of “oh my goodness, I would love to meet this man!”

As I said, this author always brings more to the story. So for the message and the wonderfulness that is Stevie, well worth the read!

If there was ever a character that I wished was real so I could hang out with, it would be Stevie from Scott Hildreth's Pretty in Ink. Pretty in Ink is a modern day fairytale with a beautiful, brash, no holds barred heroine, that marches to the beat of her own drum and is unlike any character. Stevie is one of the coolest characters you'll ever read. Fate has her caught in rain storm on her bicycle, when Wilson a handsome businessman in a suit, and the exact opposite of Stevie's usual type offers her a ride like a knight in shining armor. While Stevie think she has Wilson figured out, there is undeniably something about him that has her wanting to know more about him. Wilson is a man who's life is very rigid and planned out. When he meets Stevie, the tattooed beauty with peach colored hair, he can't help but admire her and her straight forwardness. She is a woman, who takes life and lives it to the fullest possible, despite some bumps along the way.
I loved reading Pretty in Ink. It's a great story of two people who seem worlds apart on the outside but actually have the possibility of being perfect together. I loved Stevie and Wilson, and I really loved reading how their story played out. Pretty in Ink is a romantic, funny, charming, sexy book that will leave you feeling happily ever after.

"Meeting Asher Wilson convinced me the perfect man is out there waiting for each and every one if us. He may be the exact opposite of what we've spent a lifetime looking for, but... to find out for sure, all we have to do is give him a chance."

What happens when we accept people for who they are and not who they appear to be, or who we want them to be? When we stop looking for someone to complete us, but quite the contrary, compliment us? It is then that we open ourselves up to finding the person that is the missing piece of our puzzle.

In Pretty in Ink Stevie and Wilson couldn't be more polar opposite, yet that is what makes them so poignant as a couple. Neither was what the other was looking for, yet exactly what each of them needed, even if they didn't know it. Two unorthodox characters who find unmitigated love for one another and in turn, find love for themselves and life as well. In a brilliantly crafted modern day Cinderella story we are presented with two people who just are and let the other in turn, just be. The love that grows from that mutual respect is amazingly sweet and beyond powerful. The chemistry between the them undeniable. This story had all the feels for me, love, laughter, and lust. I lost myself in the pages and loved everything about this book.

A modern day fairytale.

What a beautiful story! I can always count on SH's books to make me laugh out loud, tear up occasionally, but always walk away knowing I'll miss the characters and the world I was just in.

We met Stevie in the first book, Blurred Lines. She's a tattoo artist with a foul mouth and don't-give-a-crap attitude. She usually has purple or pink hair and is covered in tattoos. Her success at finding a good guy hasn't been good and she's wondering if perhaps she's looking in the wrong places.

Wilson is extremely wealthy and the complete opposite of the biker bad boys Stevie usually goes after. When Wilson sees Stevie, well actually more accurately when he hears her cussing because it's raining, he knows instantly his life is fixing to change for the better. Stevie accepts his offer to drive her home and she accepts his offer for a date. We get to watch as these two troubled souls find love and discover opposites really do attract. We also learn that no matter how much money a person has, you need human contact and love to not be lonely.

Loved it! I cannot wait until the next story is out in this series. I'm hoping we get a story from Lightning and I know it'll be great. In the meantime, looking forward to more from the Selected Sinners series next month.

5 star

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, hot sexy fun, betrayal, pain, secrets, lies, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Blurred Lines (Bodies, Ink & Steel #1)

This is Stevie and Wilson’s story. Steve is sassy and fun. She tells you how it is. She loves bikers and tattooed men. One day she gets a ride home from Wilson who is a rich businessman. He is the opposite of what she usually goes for. She is the opposite of what he would normally go for. They connect and start dating. With her not having a ton of money will people think they are together for the wrong reasons? Can they overcome those issues only to have another person start messing with their relationship? What happens when the one thing you didn’t know you wanted might have been a lie? Will you run as love is just not for you? Or will you stay and fight for that love? Will Wilson and Stevie be able to build a forever or are they just building an affair that is about to fall apart?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Stevie is a mouthy, tattooed firecracker. Wilson is a rich pretty boy. Polar opposites. But you know what they say about opposites....Oh yeah, they definitely attract. Stevie falls head over heels for this Prince Charming and it's a whirlwind ride! I was a little surprised the story moved as quickly as it did, as in, Stevie leaped right into a relationship with Wilson and there wasn't any past angst that held her up. It seems in most books (not necessarily Hildreth's books) that the H/h are destined to be together but something keeps it from happening right away. It was almost refreshing to read a book where the main couple are just willing to go with the flow and not allow past experiences to throw a wrench in the operation. Overall, this was a great, sweet read. Definitely on the read-again list! Well-done, as always, Scott!

This is my third Scott Hildreth book and my favorite to date (I own all his books, just haven't had time to read them all) . I remember Scott describing a bit about his writing and having the characters living in his head (heard this from other authors I admire, not unusual) and he must have had quite a time writing if this wonderful, entertaining book is the result. We met Stevie in book 1 of this series; although it's not necessary to have read book 1 in order to enjoy this one, don't miss out on that great story, Blurred Lines.

Thank you Scott, for another enjoyable read. Can't wait to see what's in store for this great group of characters.

I'm most impressed with the storytelling. The characters Stevie and Wilson are well developed and their voices are distinct. It's written in alternative POV which I really love. Their POV cover the story without being redundant.

One Strong and Blunt Woman... my kind of woman

I fell in love with Stevie in Blurred Lines and was so happy to know her story was the next in the series. She is blunt, honest, strong, and funny as hell. She could definitely be one of my best friends and reminds me of a few. I love how Stevie met Wilson and they compliment each other nicely. Wilson needed laughter, excitement, and love in his life... Stevie can definitely provide that. Scott's books always make me laugh, cry, and fall in love with his characters. He is an amazing and talented writer.

A new favorite!

I loved this book! It wasn't what I expected but I wouldn't change a word. Both Stevie and Wilson were adorable , sweet and so cute together. I loved watching their relationship grow.
The pair connected both in and out of the bedroom. I liked reading Wilson coming into his own.
While I'm sure the author could have created more drama , I appreciated the unnecessary angst and needless drama.
