In a single motion, he’d removed his leather jacket and shirt, revealing a body that was sculpted from marble, and covered in tattoos.
REIGN
Reign is sexy, arrogant, and next in line to be president of the Black Smoke MC. He notices Gabriella the second she steps into the biker bar. She's curvy and beautiful — everything he likes for a one night stand. So he buys her a drink, thinking it'll be the beginning of a fun night. But by the morning, he feels like he needs to protect her. Because he thinks she's gotten herself into a whole lot of trouble ...
GABRIELLA
When Gabriella comes across a duffel bag full of cash, she knows this is her chance. She can escape her dull job and her abusive husband. She can leave it all behind. The dead body next to the duffle bag isn't a good sign, but she can't resist. So she hits the road ...
Contains sex and violence. Intended for adults only.
I don't give spoilers, so I will try my best to leave a review that makes sense without giving anything away. This book have domestic violence in it, so if that could be a trigger for you, think long and hard before you read this book. Its a topic that needs to be brought to light more and raise awareness of it.
I liked Reign and Gabriella. They both have things that have happened to them in the course of their life: Reign when he was younger and Gabriella throughout her marriage. Gabriella and Reign meet and sparks fly. However, Gabriella is running from something...a BIG something.
It was a good story, however, it left me with a lot of questions. I don't want to say what those questions are because of giving some of the story away. I was left with confusion at the ending. It seems like some important details are left out. It doesn't take away from the story, but you will have questions.
I hope that there is another book that will answer these questions.
I stopped reading at 16%. The plot sounded so great but 16% and I thought "meh, what a waste". The heroines inner dialogue in the beginning sounded witty and interesting. The hero also sounded like a tough playboy. But when they met...the story nose dived so fast there's no possible way it could get better. They sounded like teenagers. No joke. At one point the hero sounded like a nerd, and then became open about he does. He starts to sound embarrassed and wistful!!!! She's like a walking contradiction. What a waste of a perfectly good plot.
I read this as part of the three book series collection that was a freebie. The thing that killed it for me was suddenly “Boone” was in her after the sex that occurred after her first ride. I’m like wtf is that?
The ending felt incredibly rushed to me. And the epilogue? Meh.
I started the series with Trigger which was absolutely fabulous, so much so I thought I'd read the first two books beginning with Reign. It fell short. The story certainly had good bone structure, just not enough meat. I think the author tried too hard to increase the book's 'shock value' with the high number of sex scenes and also spent a lot of time going into detail about a character's thought processes, etc. It got tedious after awhile and frankly the 'epilogue' can be more described as if the author was going to miss her final deadline - it ended so abruptly and incompletely. Total let down!
I got the book free from Amazon and part of the three book series. The story is good but does contain some domestic violence which is part of the plot for the heroine. For a book that takes place in an MC, it was very light on that culture or workings.
My biggest problem with the book was that the author seemed to run out of time and completely rushed the ending. There are three or four chapters towards the end that are two paragraphs each. What? Why bother?!? Also I feel the villain of the story really did not seem to make sense. His final act does not ring true as to what he would really do. (Sorry if that is cryptic but don't want to ruin it)
I love mc romance novels but this book was horrible. The author has no concept of the mc clubs or how they work.. I have had the pleasure of reading many mc romances in which the author takes you inside the club lifestyle and you understand it. This book was far from believable. Please don't write any more mc novels
This is a good start to a new MC series. I enjoyed how Reign held in check all his emotions. You got a good idea of what was going on and there was great character building for the future. It never droned on about useless stuff. That's great in my book. There were a couple of areas that fell a little flat like the bad guy(s) need a better build I think but otherwise it was good.
I really enjoyed the book alot, I loved everything about Reign. I did hate the ending. To me it leaves you hanging, yes the epilogue answers a few questions but not enough of them.
When a wife goes on the run from her abusive cop husband, who would have guessed she would find herself in Utah and meeting a biker. Can she start a new life with a biker or will her ex find her??
A pretty good story. Good believable characters. Enough suspense throughout to keep you reading. I enjoyed reading this and will read more of this author.
I really tried to like this book. It could have had such a great story but it was just too poorly written for me to even finish it. I didn't even get to the half way point before I gave up on it.
