I heard Father Richard say mass and was moved by him. Then, I attended a speaking engagement and was again moved by him. At the engagement I bought the book. This was 2019. I began reading it. It is broken down by the Lenten holidays and so I read them on the given day. After Easter, I was distracted and didn’t finish the book. This year, I did the same but I finished the book.

In his homilies, his speaking, and this book, he has great experiences that help to convey Christianity, especially the Catholic Church, in a meaningful way. And, his teachings follow those of Pope Francis. I’m a better person for having read this book. I will attempt to read it each year and hope that he continues to come each year to my Parish and speak.

I can’t say enough about his preaching.

A good short read for Lent.....its not a "one-page a day" or "one paragraph" a day kind of book. I found it useful to read when I found myself wanting after not feeling inspired by the other Lenten reading I did for the day.

I liked what Fr Richard had to say about the challenge and the blessing we all can find in the disciplines of Lent. There were a few too many stories about his own experiences than I cared for, but other than that, some great insights..... its worth your browsing through for Lent!

Father Richard writes in an understandable way. I learn more about my faith with each of his books. This was a great read thru Lent and Eastertide.

I purchased this book to make my first truly attentive Lent special. This is a lovely but profound little book to return to every Lenten season. Reflectional (is that a word?) essays by an Australian priest themed by Lent, Pentecost, Trinity Sunday, and Corpus Christi.
