Things have changed for Halloween LaVeau since becoming leader of the Underworld. To most people her life seems quite charmed now. Hallie went from worst witch ever to being not too shabby. She has a handsome boyfriend, a thriving bed and breakfast business that actually has guests, and her cooking skills are much improved. All is not what it seems though. With sexy brothers Nicolas Marcos and Liam Rankin by her side, Hallie is faced with the biggest decision of her life.

There really is no getting away from being the leader of underworld, nor the schemers who want to destroy either it or her. Hallie LeVue, once again must content with magical malcontents out to get their own way , not only trying to cast suspicion on friends and family, but to cause her as much trouble and embarrassments as possible along the way to discredit her. A little slow going at first it definitely picks up as you go along.
I love this series. You are immediately engaged in the story and do not want to put it down. I couldn't wait to finish my work day so I could finish this book. I love how I cannot decipher who is causing Halloween problems. Even when I am confident who the guilty party is I am always surprised. This book especially shocked me with the ending. Love it. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
Really enjoyed this book! So much action and lots of magical confusion to keep you guessing. I enjoy lots of quips and sarcasm along with the sweetness between Hallie and Nicolas and maybe even Liam? I felt badly for Hallie finding out that the magical guests at her B&B had put a spell on her to improve her magical abilities or did they? Terrific series and one of my favorite books in it.
Mystery, suspense, and adventure awaits again around every corner.
Welcome back to the manor! What challenges are in store for Hallie? The bed-and-breakfast welcomes new visitors. What secrets do they bring with them? Encourage all to read this book to find out what happens to Hallie and her friends. Well worth the read. Dive into the adventure and enjoy the read.
This is that type of book that start and can't put down until you finish it. The characters have so many things going for them that you wish you had it too💞 Love the twists & turns of the plot plus the humor in the story. This is a really great enjoyable read. So read it!!!💞💖
I adore these short, cosy romance books. Unusually in this tale, Halle is now an accomplished witch and can spell her cupcakes to taste delicious. Despite her bad b+b guests previously, she is inundated with a cluster of bad new boarders. Cora an elderly witch is accused of poisoning a guest.
The writing really needs editing for clarity. From one paragraph to the next something completely crazy will happen and they won't even comment about it except like one sentence. Someone was straight up murdered and then brought back to life and the main character was not really concerned at all about who killed the person...etc. Just not my thing
Hallows has a full house of guests all of a sudden. Then strange things start happening. But which guest is behind the evil magic that is happening? And who are these people.. How can Hallie make it right again? Read on and find out.
I've read 5 books in the series and enjoyed the quirkiness of the characters. I usually avoid witch and vampire stories, but Janet Evanovich liked them , that was good enough for me.
Every book, Hallie just keeps getting into more trouble. This one is fantastic, though I noticed more typos and errors in this book than any of the previous. Hopefully this doesn't get worse as the series goes on...
This is a most entertaining series that leaves you in suspense until the very end. The characters feel like they become part of your family as you cheer them on.
I've enjoyed the Halloween Leveau series and was happy to see book 5 when it arrived. I know time runs slowly between the books but I was hoping for a bit more time to have passed. I am ready for Hallie to be more confident in her abilities. I thought at first she had become a confident witch and leader. In seems logical that her powers would grow as she spent more time in the company of the Book of Mystics. The writing is still fun and fast paced if somewhat redundant. I would recommend this series to a reader a bit younger than I. I give it points for not being a murder mystery series. It's story line continues through the 5 books and is rather complicated and magical.
Halloween is back and she is better than ever. For some reason, her magic is no longer wonky. All her spells come out perfect and everybody loves her. Even her bed & breakfast is overflowing with customers. Her life is just about perfect but why does she feel like something is wrong? Of course, there is something strange happening. Her guests are accusing each other of some strange things and Halloween has no idea what to do.
I think this might actually be my favorite in the series. Her guests complaints are off the wall!! I am still torn between the two hot men in her life, Nicholas & Liam. Even poor Halloween can't seem to choose between them! I really hope the author continues this series.
I truly enjoy this series for entertainment purposes. Normally, I would give this a 4 Stars rating. However, the author seems stuck on repeating I said, he said, she said, Laim said, Thomas said with no other variations. I recall being in grade 3 and a teacher posted 100 different ways to exclaim how someone has said something. Unfortunately, I grew up before cellphones and computers therefore I no longer have the expression from over 40+ years ago. But almost everyone has access to the internet nowadays.
I liked her other books, but I gave this one 2 stars because the dialog was not as good. The characters don't seem to be growing (maturing) and the main character dialog was immature. I liked the story line, but the way in which she (main character) did and handled situations was lacking. I found her to be for lack of a better word stupid! The other books in this series were good. I just think this one fell short of the mark!
As we enter back into LaVeau Manor, Hallie has more on her hands then she knows what to do with! The doorbell keeps ringing and the rooms are filling up. Everything she does is perfect, but she is feeling more uneasy and having a hard time finding out who she can trust. With the brothers help and an unexpected cousin, Halloween secures he title as the leader of the Underworld. This book is a fast, easy read. Definitely recommend!
One of the things I enjoy y most out of the Halloween LaVeau series is you never know what to expect. Even on book 5 in the series and the books are still strong and fresh. There is not thing normal about Halloween's life so crazy things keep happening. If it wasn't for help from her best friend, boyfriend and her other friends Halloween would go crazy.
Literally nothing happens the entire time. "Weird people show up". Hallie thinks it's all so strange but just can't figure it out. The two boyfriend/brothers call/show up with a "strange feeling". Nothing happens. Finally, in the last 20 pages the lamest story comes around. Whatever.
I'm not going to waste my time on the next 5 books to finish out the series.
It was starting to get annoying that Halloween had to keep going through the earth, air, wind, fire stuff instead of just casting a spell. It's more confusing when she has the inner strength to cast them alone, yet next time she needs help. Still a good story line and I couldn't figure out who the bad guy was or what they wanted.
I wish we saw more development in Hallie and Nicolas' relationship instead of the feelings for the other brother thing... I believe it'll be a waste to go that direction and that their relationship should remain friendly with him longing for his brother's wife until he finds his true love
Witches and dark magic hmm....Didn't want to out this book down. Hated the fact it was the last one in the series currently. Loved the twists and turns to who did it.
