Another Sweet Amish Romance from #1 Bestselling Author Elanor Miller. Emma had the Amish life she always dreamed of, complete with the hope of courtship with the Amish man of her dreams. Things begin to change when a friend from the past returns to the Amish community. After many years away, Jonathan returns to the Amish community of his youth hoping to find a second chance at living God's way. While some welcome his return, others have a hard time letting go of his earlier defection. Emma and Jonathan eventually learn that God's plans differ from her own and that second chances can be better than first choices. This book is a sweet, clean, Amish romance novella. It is a complete story, but it is also part of the Fairfield Amish Romance series. Be sure to read them all, in any order! Always FREE on Kindle Unlimited
Jonathan Wagler turned away from his community and his faith but quickly realized his error and returned to his Amish home. He knows that God has forgiven him but will he be accepted and restored to what he lost? This is a lovely retelling of the Prodigal Son. Forgiveness and repentance are not easy but passing judgment is a sin in itself. Emma sees the man before her and is able to leave his past where it belongs and accept his friendship. But others in the community are not so willing to forgive and forget. Jonathan sees beyond Emma’s pretty face and recognizes her hard work, love for others, and loyalty to her family. “He’d hook her but she needed someone who would catch her only to set her free to be who she was.” This short story has a strong message for us all. I especially loved Reuben’s kindness and the example he set for his daughter and his neighbors. The peaceful tone of this story is nice and I liked that Emma took the time to learn the truth, examine her heart, and know her mind.
