Lots of spoilers so be warned! No, seriously, if you don't want to know every single detail about this book, stop now.
I came across this on Amazon unlimited, and since it was free I decided to give it a chance. The premise sounded interesting enough, but boy was I wrong.
Let's just get straight to all of the reasons why I didn't like this book in no particular order:
1.Harassment towards the heroine from a classmate
2.Hero is physically abused
3.Heroine is almost raped
4.Heroine constantly forgives hero for his fuck ups (like 3 times)
5.Hero ran over heroine with his car while drunk and driving
6a.Hero tells heroine about his past (hero gets a virgin to sleep with him then he humiliated her in front of his friends and she kills herself a month later) and heroine still thinks he is a good person that made a horrible mistake even though he hasn't changed his attitude and screwed over the heroine multiple times.
6b.Also, the hero's grandfather builds a whole new school to cover up the fact that the hero had something to do with the girl killing herself in the school, which makes no sense because it takes months to build a school, yet I'm supposed to believe that this girl killed herself in the old school and no one heard about it because a new school popped up the next day???
7.Heroine's mother let's the hero sleep in the same bed as her daughter even though they're 17 or 18 years old.
8.After the hero sends the biggest FU to the heroine at the end of the book by cheating on her, the heroine still thinks there is good in him.
9.Rember note 1 and 2? Well the person that was harassing the heroine ends up raping her at the end of the book anyway, and this is the situation that makes the Hero realize he should have been there for the heroine and had no right to be mad at her.
The hero could literally shoot her parents dead, and she would still think he is the greatest thing that ever walked this earth.
10.After getting raped and nearly beaten to death, she acts perfectly fine and continues to reassure the hero that nothing was his fault. This girl is so blinded by "love" she would walk straight into the depths of hell if the hero told her to.
Basically I didn't appreciate how the hero didn't learn from his mistakes and I definitely didn't like how ignorant the heroine looked when she forgave the hero.
Do yourself a big favor and skip this book if you happen to come across it. You've been warned.

WHAT????????????????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I cannot believe this!!
I finished this book at 2:34am.
I was NOT going to bed until I knew what the hell was going to happen with Graham Black & Kennedy Conrad.
I jacked myself up on caffeine just was sure that I would not even not off just to make it to the end.
Well.
Seven hours later and like two real solid hours of sleep, I am STILL ripped in half. My emotions are so whacked out right now, mixed feelings (but not in a bad way) and I don't even want to remember that:
1. I have no clue when the next installment is coming out.
2. This is a three book series and I'm not sure my heart can take anymore but a HEA sooner rather than later.
Kennedy Conrad is our "sexy nerd" with sass. I loved, loved, loved, loved, loved her character. She was honest, intelligent, funny, shy, socially outcasted (and perfectly okay with it), a loyal friend and honest to goodness, there was nothing about her that I didn't like.
Graham Black is our "oh my god he's so hot" baseball player, who made me cringe, tsk, shake me head, ooh and ahh all over. I hated him, I loved him, felt so damn bad for him, then I loved THEM and then I hated him again and right now, I'm not sure how I truly feel.
Kennedy and Graham meet in freshman year, and don't really see each other or speak to each other until two years later (as they run in different circles).
Graham "sees" Kenny for the first time during her performance in school. He finally notices her and he can't shake that.
That night, Kennedy goes on a walk to escape her parents fighting...Graham is on his way home from yet another party... And ladies & gentleman, this is when their world collides.
Kennedy- honest to goodness has a heart of gold.
This changes the dynamic of Kennedy & Graham's nonexistent interactions with each other. At first, Kennedy is pissed that Graham doesn't even bother to check up on her. But he redeems himself.
Then, they try to pretend to be friends, but that would raise a lot of questions at school. Graham continues to be into Amanda the leech and Kennedy is all the sudden being admired and pursed by Craig (Graham's best friend and f**king ass**** that I SO BADLY want to destroy myself).
As Kennedy and Graham try to keep in a straight line with their friendship, that all thrown out the window.
Graham comes to Kennedy one night after having no where to run and no one to turn to after encountering his drunken father.
This is the turning point. This is what I was waiting for. Albeit the feelings between Ken and Graham comes up in the middle of him seeking comfort - I freaking ran with it. I ate it up. I swallowed it down.
You will get the drama. You will get the trust issues. Jealousy. Misunderstandings. Immaturity, Maturity. Love/Lust. Want/Need. Crazy/Sanity.
You will fall in love and bask in their happiness. But you better freaking believe that your heart will be shred to a million freaking pieces at the end. You're not even given a warning. You're not given a moment to prepare. You're on the rollercoaster and just plunge, grasping on to your handlebars for dear life - eyes closed.
Kennedy is dealt a shitty hand with everything she goes through - from the accident to Craig.
Graham is a hot mess who only wants to be able to deserve Kennedy - from dealing with his parents to having to make the hardest damn decision of his teenage life.
I am still pissed the hell off at Graham. I admit it. While I loved him at times, right now, until he can get his shit together, I am sooooooo pissed.
While his intentions to do what he does in the ending is not malintent, I hate to say but this all boils down to him. It was his fault. He failed as boyfriend and a protector, completely blew up on Kennedy for no reason (when her intents for what she did was out of concern and love), and then proceeded to hurt her more....and hurt any reader with a heart, too.
So, I'll sit here. Wait. Agonize over these two characters until the next installment comes out (PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LET THAT ME SOMETIME SOON)!

I'm not sure what to even say about this book. First off, I struggled with the writing. It was far from polished and I spent a good chunk of it editing it in my head. So much inner monologue, alot of inconsistency. I couldn't get into the book the way I wanted to because of the writing and that made it difficult to connect with the story itself.
Second, the characters are a hot mess. This is exactly the kind of storyline I typically would love but with so much over the top drama and juvenile character behavior, I was more annoyed than immersed. There's a fine line regarding behavior that characters can come back from and, believe me, I'm a firm believer in pushing that bar, allowing characters to do the unforgivable and then allowing them to grovel enough to rebuild what's been broken. But in the case of these characters, I started to just wish they'd go their own way and end all of this toxic craziness. There was no grovel. There was immediate acceptance and I just didn't get it. I hope with book 2 comes a lot of character growth because there wasn't enough in this one.
Yes, there's a book 2 and if I'm being honest, I might actually read it. But man, this book could've been so much better. I'm torn. There's a lot I didn't like but in the end, I suppose, there might just be enough to ensure I might come back for more.

I can't believe I read this. This book was terrible. And the people were just a bunch of dumbass. I hated Graham. He was a big annoying douche and Kennedy was a pathetic idiot. I so glad I didn't have to pay for this crap.

After finishing my last read I wanted a similar emotional read. Unfortunately I didn’t find it here. Although it’s subject matter was similar to my last read, the characters were un-likeable and the aftermath of the subject was not written about well.
The main characters Graham & Kennedy were two of the least likeable characters I’ve read about. Let’s start with Graham, he’s a player, that face is made abundantly clear with the amount of girls he finds attractive and how many he’s slept with/ sleeps with during the course of the book. Now I’m a lover of angst, I like some OW drama and don’t have issues if our hero sleeps with someone else, it happens, it doesn’t offend me. BUT what I don’t like is when the hero is so full of himself he gives no shits about the girl he’s actually falling for and that’s where Graham fails as a character. He’s too busy chatting about other girls and how hot they are, what a great rack they have, how he’d like to sleep with them blah blah. It’s constant. So much so I forgot he actually wants Kennedy. Mind you, I’d forget about Kennedy too, with her boring personality and non existent spinal cord. She’s dire. If you think I’m being harsh, let me put it into perspective… SPOILER WARNING…
When out for a run, Kennedy gets knocked down by a car, the driver is mine other than our Graham, who, in all his cocky arrogance is drunk driving. Now Kennedy who’s barely conscious decides that Graham should leave the scene and save himself and then gets angry in the following weeks when he stays clear of her out of guilt. Yuh-huh. She’s such a good person.
There’s a part in this book that tackles a very hard hitting topic, sexual assault and it’s brutal. But once again Kennedy manages to ruin the way it should have been conveyed to the reader. While she’s being assaulted (after an argument with Graham) Graham is inside getting cosy with the bane of his existence (but an easy lay, so he always goes back to her) Amanda (I can’t remember if that’s her name - so sue me) and then when he realised what’s happened Graham runs to the hospital and goes to see Kennedy and just like that she forgives him.
By this point I was done with the book. I don’t care how nice and good a person Kennedy is, she would have been traumatised and in no way would she be willing to forgive the dick that is Graham. But she does.
Their story continues but I won’t be following it. There was nothing I could find redeemable in this one.

This was a really great book. This story deals with lots of tragedy, guilt, blame, and heartbreak. People are always hardest on themselves and feel guilt for things that aren't always their fault. Kennedy Conrad moves to town their freshman year of college. Graham Black is only a freshman but he's already a star on the baseball team and people know he's going to make something of himself. He's gorgeous, built, talented, popular, and at times cruel. He's a player that hooks up with girl after girl but he won't allow any feelings to enter the picture. Kennedy is completely different than most people their age. She's quiet, reserved, works hard, talented dancer, and doesn't like people to pay her any attention. One night Graham crashes into Kennedy and changes both of their lives forever.
Kennedy is extremely intelligent and exceedingly mature for her age. She's best friends with someone who is completely different from her but Violet knows how wonderful she is. She dreams of going to a wonderful college one day like Columbia and hopefully becoming a dancer. Her dreams of being a dancer might never happen since she was hit by a car and her legs and ability will never be the same. She sees so much more to Graham than what he shows the world. She believes that he could be such a wonderful person but he has a problem believing that.
Graham seems to have it all but it's all for appearances. He's got secrets and terrible things that happen in his life. There are reasons he's the way he is and he believes he's a horrible person. He's done some pretty horrible things but Kennedy sees that there is more to him than he shows the world. Kennedy makes him believe that he isn't as bad as it seems and gives him chances to show that he is better. But tragic and horrible things derail that so he does what he thinks is best for everyone.
Definitely worth reading. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Wow, this book has left me in awe. The tragedies, dysfunctional families, friends, enemies, bullying and just every day life is all in Graham and Kennedy's story.
Kennedy is the girl with a plan. Go to school, get the best grades, stay under everyone's radar and get into Columbia. Well all that changes when she is hit by a car. From that point on her she life is flipped around for the better and worse.
Graham is the All-American baseball player, king of the school, money bails him out every time and a total man-whore. However he does have a tender, sweet and loving side that no one sees but one person. But keep in mind habits are very hard to break.
This story made me feel an array of emotions and kept me wanting more. I hated when the story ended but I am glad for the next book be cause this means that Graham and Kennedy aren't done yet. I am excited to see if each if them heal the way they need in order to find themselves again.

Let me explain my rating first before I start my rant. 2.5 stars is half of 5. I couldn't put this book down all because I was waiting for both H/h to GET A CLUE, but there's no way I was going to say I loved it. Rant starts now....
The heroine, Kennedy, is the BIGGEST DOORMAT. EVER. The author plays it off as strong, but yea, NO. She's a fucking doormat. The "Hero," Graham, is the BIGGEST ASSHOLE. What was the author thinking? Graham constantly fucks up. Even up until the end he FUCKS up BIG TIME by sleeping with an ex conquest all because he couldn't deal. This leads to Kennedy getting attacked, raped and hospitalized. So instead of the groveling Hero (which I love when they do), she once again puts on a smiling face and tells him it's not his fault. WHAT. THE. FUCK?! DOORMAT, MUCH?!!!!!!!!!!!!! And when I go and read the synopsis for book two, we're back to square one: Him as a manwhore and she just taking it. FUCK. THIS. I'm out. It's not worth it.

I tried to look past a lot of the stuff Graham did in this book, but it got to the point where I couldn't. Kennedy just kept forgiving him and didn't care about the stuff he did in his past. I get that your past shouldn't define you, but after reading about the prank he pulled I was done.

This book was wrong on so many levels
.
First I will get my frustrations out of the way
1. I am sick of reading abusive parents and partners. Moreover I am more sick of reading abused victims continuously making a choice to stay with their abusive partners and wrecking their children in the meantime. And when they are old and on their death bed, suddenly opting for forgiveness. Woman you have already ruined your and your children's lives. You deserve to die in regret. No matter whatever excuse you recite, staying quiet and choosing to do nothing about a abusive partner is still a CHOICE. yes it is hard but still a choice. No one else is to blame but yourself.
2. The hero Graham is the world's best douchebag if I have ever seen one. He is a horrible person. Sometimes you do bad things because of your circumstances. But sometimes you are just evil. He is later. He is school's playboy and have apparently slept with all the girls but still girls are throwing themselves at ever.
3. Where are all the parents? Why is there is zero adult supervision on these extra horny teenage children? I don't know how it is in high school with you guys but I remember my high school completely different. These teenagers are around with sex arrangements and have fuck buddies at the age of 16, 17??? That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever read.
4. Again going back to Graham, who is biggest walking red flag, our heroine sees something different in him just because she does. 😐😑😑😑😑😑
And we have to accept it even though he runs her over with his car while drunk and she keeps shush about the whole thing. But he is DIFFERENT. Even though when he tells her how he made a game of tooking a girl's virginity and then humiliated her in front of his buddies. Even though a month later that said girl kills herself leaving a note about all the culprits but there is no police activity whatsoever coz our hero is rich and his grandfather shush the school with a whole new ass building.
6. Guess what our girl says after hearing all of this?....... She says and I quote " he is the brightest thing in this world?" what is this world? Blind?
7. This type of men makes me shun whole male specie.
8. The first half of the book was all about how the girl (Kennedy) is different. I accepted the feat knowing author's gonna keep filling the pages up with same lines. If you read the book you will realise she doesn't even change the words she just uses same sentences over and over again.
9. 75% of the book is all this ridiculousness and I wanted to read if this story goes anywhere but once Graham's more fuckups (taking girl's virginity because of a game and humiliating her afterwards) started popping I have had enough.

First I will get my frustrations out of the way
1. I am sick of reading abusive parents and partners. Moreover I am more sick of reading abused victims continuously making a choice to stay with their abusive partners and wrecking their children in the meantime. And when they are old and on their death bed, suddenly opting for forgiveness. Woman you have already ruined your and your children's lives. You deserve to die in regret. No matter whatever excuse you recite, staying quiet and choosing to do nothing about a abusive partner is still a CHOICE. yes it is hard but still a choice. No one else is to blame but yourself.
2. The hero Graham is the world's best douchebag if I have ever seen one. He is a horrible person. Sometimes you do bad things because of your circumstances. But sometimes you are just evil. He is later. He is school's playboy and have apparently slept with all the girls but still girls are throwing themselves at ever.
3. Where are all the parents? Why is there is zero adult supervision on these extra horny teenage children? I don't know how it is in high school with you guys but I remember my high school completely different. These teenagers are around with sex arrangements and have fuck buddies at the age of 16, 17??? That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever read.
4. Again going back to Graham, who is biggest walking red flag, our heroine sees something different in him just because she does. 😐😑😑😑😑😑
And we have to accept it even though he runs her over with his car while drunk and she keeps shush about the whole thing. But he is DIFFERENT. Even though when he tells her how he made a game of tooking a girl's virginity and then humiliated her in front of his buddies. Even though a month later that said girl kills herself leaving a note about all the culprits but there is no police activity whatsoever coz our hero is rich and his grandfather shush the school with a whole new ass building.
6. Guess what our girl says after hearing all of this?....... She says and I quote " he is the brightest thing in this world?" what is this world? Blind?
7. This type of men makes me shun whole male specie.
8. The first half of the book was all about how the girl (Kennedy) is different. I accepted the feat knowing author's gonna keep filling the pages up with same lines. If you read the book you will realise she doesn't even change the words she just uses same sentences over and over again.
9. 75% of the book is all this ridiculousness and I wanted to read if this story goes anywhere but once Graham's more fuckups (taking girl's virginity because of a game and humiliating her afterwards) started popping I have had enough.

Talk about ROUGH.
This book was really well written, and even though it held just about EVERYTHING I despise (because it's so repeatedly done and predictable), I read every single word, and I didn't want to stop to take a break.
I'm supposing there will be a book 2 to give this couple an HEA, but since there wasn't even a HFN I'm wondering. Was this really a cliffhanger or did I just read a heart wrenching story that's going to leave a serious mark, and I'm not lying about that either.
I went back and read reviews after I finished this, and there were hints of book 2, but they also mentioned Violet getting her story, so I'm just wondering. I do know this though, if this couple gets the rest of their story, it damn sure needs to be roses and sunshine. Another read like this would be way too much to take. By the end, even though it was hard to read, I was applauding the hero's decision. That's so sad, but the next step, if the author continues them on nothing but a depressing storyline, would just lead to one or both dying for sure. There's truly not a lot more that could happen to them other than the great beyond because they have experienced EVERYTHING but death. This was pretty much overall the most depressing book I've read in the romance genre. No matter how well written, there is just no getting around the fact that there are no real butterflies or flowers or sunsets involved here.

I started this book while I was on vacation. I could not put it down. The entire 11 hour drive back home, all I could think about is what is going to happen next with Graham and Kennedy!? How will they survive the last thing that was thrown at them!? This book had me question every way I viewed what True Love is. I have already recommended it to all of my close friends and family to read. Kudos to the author, because I can not wait for the second book!!!

This did not work for me. The verbiage was awkward. The writing did not flow. It could have been so good, but the execution was weak. I kept reading hoping that it would get better, but it didn't.
The story felt as if it was all over the place.
Kennedy was a doormat. She forgave and forgave and forgave. What did he have to do for her to say "ENOUGH"?!?!?

January 2, 2025Actually. This is a DNF for now @ 17%. I read ahead to this book’s ending and I’m tired. I also think I’m too old for a regular ol’ contemporary romance set in high school. Bully romance, yes. Regular contemporary? No. This book and the pop culture references already make it feel a bit dated.
This book is first of 5 about the same couple. They start 14 but quickly goes to age 16.
MMC is Graham and the school’s star baseball player and comes from a wealthy and influential family. FMC is Kennedy and a nerdy bookworm who likes to…dance? Unclear if she takes dance lessons from a young age or what but the talent show or whatever was so random.
First problem is all the misogyny and sexism honestly. But also this should’ve been aged up to college instead of high school. But also, Graham runs Kennedy over with his car and just LEAVES HER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. She tells him to flee the scene but STILL. He shouldn’t have. She lies to cops to protect Graham even though they’ve barely spoken more than a few sentences in school. Teenagers make dumb decisions I KNOW. But I don’t have to keep reading about them.
Apparently the ending of this book ends with one of Graham’s friend who he’s known since childhood .

now let’s have a chat! if the purpose of this book was to make me ridiculously irritated while also feeling sorry for how self-loathing and pathetic everyone in this book is, then you killed it Lindsey (like how Graham almost killed Kennedy)! if the purpose of this book was literally anything else (like perhaps being enjoyable), you failed spectacularly! what a train wreck (maybe car wreck is more appropriate) of a book and a spectacular waste of my time! I cannot believe there are five books full of this; why would anyone want to keep reading this series after how horrible this book was??

I have only put the blurb for the first book in the series when our worlds collide as I don't want to give to much away in my review, I have to say these books absolutely broke me then put me back together there emotions and feeling I felt as if I was feeling them as well.
Kennedy's character throughout these books is so strong and brave I absolutely loved her character, I also loved Graham's character even though I thought he was a douche at first he wangled his way into my heart. Another character I wanted to mention is violet, Kennedy's best friend I loved how she was loud and confident and I found her funny at times also.
I'm not going to go in to much as it's a four books and I don't want to give much away but honestly once I started I couldn't stop I had to keep reading until all four books were read and now I'm at a loss for what to read next I more!!

I definitely loved reading this book. This book is about Kennedy, an attractive yet quiet girl, and Graham, a star of the baseball team. They haven’t really noticed each other much (as in Graham didn’t notice Kennedy) until he hit her with his car one night and well, no more spoilers!
Graham seems like a really sweet man who looks like he has everything but in reality, he has his own problems and worries. And, as he and Kennedy starts to hang out as friends to begin with, they fall for each other, and you would know how the story goes.
Anyways, I enjoyed reading this so much, and as their relationship progressed, I myself began falling more in love with the characters. (Except Craig) I highly recommend!! :D

On Facebook someone was inquiring about a book she read and she couldn't remember the name of it. Turns out this is the book and I somewhat wished I didn't click on the book because it's absurd but then I'm glad I did because I was hooked.
This is teenage(16&17 yrs old)angst so I have to somewhat get my mind frame to that mentality but I really couldn't cause I never acted like this. *shrugs shoulders* The heroine was okay but a doormat and the "hero"(which I will state as a fact is not a hero whatsoever). He's an immature ass.
I'll read book two though so there's that.

This book is a start of a relationship between two people who seems to have this great chemistry between them. He is a player n in high school he is also a pitcher for the school team. He has this issue with his dad n he doesn't tell anyone about it. She is a good girl who has some great talent for dancing but due to an accident she has a broken leg. They fight and she ends up getting hurt badly. This story will have you in tears

I just happened to stumble upon this book, and thought it would be a good read. I was wrong, it's a GREAT read! I enjoy reading new authors, and Lindsey Iler is one I will continue to read. The story of When Worlds Collide is a combination of so many emotions both very happy and heart wrenching. Unfortunately many of the things that happen in is this book happen in real life, and the author nailed it with the feelings and emotions of the main characters Kennedy and Graham. It was exciting to read throughout the book how slowly each of the characters were evolving, and the title is so appropriate, they do indeed collide. I loved the support that Graham got from Kennedy's mom. Very heartfelt, even as her own daughter was suffering, she reached out to him, such a wonderful moment. All I can say is I cannot wait to read more about Kennedy and Graham's story. I also hope her friend Violet gets her own, she is one tough chick!!

I am gonna keep this review short because the ending made me furious (seriously?!) and hungry (for more Graham and Kennedy) at the same time. Review for the second book will be longer and I am hoping like hell that it wouldn't end in a cliffhanger too.
This book is a SUPER great start for Graham and Kennedy's story. The story is not unique at all but there is something with the way Lindsey Iler writes that will catch your attention and draw you close. Something that will make you feel connected to the characters. Yes, this is cliche, but it doesn't matter as long as the book made me feel.
If what happened with Graham and Kennedy was so much worse, if the events were because of their faults, I would say that they deserved the ending since not all couples deserve another chance or a happy ending. But these two deserve a second chance the most. And I can't wait to read about the continuance of their story in the next book.
