True Loves Fairytale #1

Forget Cinderella

Cara Mia
I think about how interesting events that happen in our lives shape who we are. At age twelve I was Mommas beautiful happy hippy princess. By the age of thirteen I had learned what loss was, I was sad and closed off and trying not to be angry at the world.
When I turned eighteen I learned the value of a true friend and who can be a person’s worst enemy. I figured out who to trust and that not all people stay.
I was lonely and sad by age twenty-one. I was supposed to enjoy being a real adult. However something was missing in my life. I found what I had learned about trust was wrong. Keeping my friends distant was wrong. When I met her. She became my friend.
At age twenty-one I learned I was loved. My new friend kept me close to him. He wanted me. I had learned to overcome being broken by people we don’t expect. By stories we are to afraid to listen to.
I also learned this year may be my last year, my last day and I may never really know why. This was not my fault. I became an easy target marked by hidden truths and lies that should have been told. The bull’s-eye is dark red and all over my body and no one sees it till it’s too late…or is it

Jordan
She became my everything the day I met her. I was twenty-seven my life was all about my work. Women never came before my job, until her. Then I screwed up. She became my job, but I did not want her to be a job.
All I could see finally was her. She came first. I want her to be mine. First I need to fix the job I did wrong. I screwed up once and the problem (him) was right in front of me. The only issue is who will accomplish their goal first him or me.

Choosing to read a book by an unfamiliar author always takes some effort from me – ask friends how they feel about the author’s work and brows existing reviews. In the case of Tracey Champion I had to go in completely blind, since Forget Cinderella is her very first book. Based on the published teasers I had a certain idea about the book, and I’m pleasantly surprised it took off in a complete opposite direction.

Cara Mia Hanson is a sweet, somewhat naïve, young woman who is left in the world without any real family. Growing up, it is just her mother and herself, her father is for reasons unknown to her not a part of their lives. When she’s just 12 years old, her mother gets very sick and dies, leaving her in the care of close family friends. Because of their closeness, dealing with her mother’s death is very hard for Cara, she even stops speaking all together and has very few friends. When she finishes high school, Cara doesn’t go to college, but starts to work for a family as a personal assistant. She is content with her life and when her employment ends, she starts working through a temp agency. It’s then she meets Amber and Jordan, unknown to her the two are brother and sister. Amber soon becomes a good friend, while Jordan becomes much more.
“I look in Jordan’s direction. He has his arms crossed over his chest. He’s in jeans and a white shirt. The crossing of his arms causes the muscles to flex, and the shirt has tightened around them. I want to touch him, but I won’t. No matter how much my body wants him, I cannot let that control me.”

Jordan Carter is a former marine. After his last tour he has taken over the family business; Bull Dog Protection and Investigations. He is a hardworking man who’s not very lucky in the girlfriend department. Because of his current workflow he doesn’t have time for real commitment, so he doesn’t bother with dating. When he meets Cara during a lunch break, he feels himself immediately attracted to her, but because of a certain part of his job he can’t make a move. When he sees her again at the house of a friend, together with his sister Amber, he knows he has to do something.
“I wanted her, and I won’t lie about that. I’ve wanted her from day one. The only thing holding me back is her injury, and before that, it was my job with Hanna. I know once I have her in my bed, she will be mine and only mine. I won’t be able to control myself.”

When Cara and Jordan meet, there’s an instant attraction between the couple. But because of a misassumption on Cara side, caused by Jordan’s job, she pushes him away and doesn’t want anything to do with him. Jordan however knows Cara is special, and does everything he can to tell her his side of the story. Cara, sweet and inexperienced as she is, is stubborn and hard to be convinced of the truth. When she finally learns the truth, Cara decides to give Jordan a real chance. Do Cara and Jordan have their Happily Ever After? They don’t have it just yet, their story ends in a cliffhanger and will continue in the next book.

As already mentioned, Forget Cinderella is the first book by debut author Tracey Champion. While I love the main and secondary characters, it shows this is Tracey’s first book. Some parts of the book take too long, as a reader I want to get to know present Cara, her meeting Jordan and the enfolding of their love story. Also, the author’s current writing style is a little repetitive, some things are mentioned too often.
“I will spend every day trying to prove that I do deserve your love, pretty girl. You got hurt because of me. You shouldn’t love me, but you do. You’re so fucking important to me Cara Mia.”

Will I continue to read books by Tracey Champion? Yes, I will! I want to know what happens next to Cara and Jordan and if they have their deserved Happily Ever After. Tracey is a storyteller, and I want to see how her writing develops over the next books.

I give this story 3 encouraging stars.

Love. Sex. More Hott Sex. Mystery. Suspense. Forget Cinderella has it all.
Cara Mia is a former Princess who grew up believing in the perfect happy ever after as told by her mom as a child. Her perfect life as momma’s baby girl is shattered when life takes a different path.
Instead of living the life as a princess, she finds herself an orphan. Lucky for her, friends of the family decided to step in and make Cara a part of their home. “Once Upon” her 18th Birthday, she decides to grab her independence, find a job and an apartment.
She meets her future BFFs and the love of her life, Jordon aka JT.
Forget Cinderella is the millennials adaptation of a classic fairy tale that tells the story of Cara Mia, an almost innocent childlike young lady who is force to deal with life as an orphan after the death of her mom. Cara’s life takes a wonderful turn when she meets the man of her dreams Jordon.
The story that follows is filled with surprises, mystery and suspense. I started this book thinking I was going to read about “Girl Meets Boy, Girl falls in love with Boy, Girl lose Boy and Girl finds Boy at the end”. Instead I become a viewer to an episode of Criminal Minds. The storyline and plot was pleasantly surprising.
This debut novel from the author can hold your attention. It can also create a sense of caring about the characters. That’s a plus considering I did not gel well with Cara’s “momma said” inner monologue. I’m not sure if the author intended for the voice of the story to be very childlike however the character development made up for it.

I'm not really sure were to start with this review. I can tell you need a couple of items before you start to read. (Tissues, Super Glue, Toothpicks, and eye drops) I started this book about noon and finished at a little after midnight the next day.

Cara and Jordan's story is not a fairytale. It has its twist and turns, ups and downs, and just when you think you have the figure out Tracey twist it just a little bit more. My heart was breaking for Cara. How much can one person take.

I don't give very many 5 star reviews, but this book deserves it hands down. I will be telling my book friends about this one.

Wow!

This story was something I purposefully did not get details about. I wanted to go into this blind and I did. I love the story and it was completely opposite of what I expected. I am so ready for book two and see where the journey goes. For this being Tracey's first book, she did very well and I am ready for more!!

OMG! This was an awesome book! Loved the characters especially Cara and Jordan. Cara Mia has been through so much in her life. Tom & Wendy stepped up when they didn’t need to but they did.. I fell in love with Jordan from the beginning, and that’s when I knew that Cara and Jordan needed to be together. Don’t get me started on Travis, I knew something was up with him from the very first moment he was mentioned. The rest of the crew I fell in love with them. I can tell you that I cried and laughed throughout this book.. The ending OMG, I need more. If you don’t like a cliffhanger than you don’t want to read this one. Tracey really you had to end it like that? I so can't wait to see where this book picks back up.
Thanks Tracey for introducing me to Cara, Jordan and the gang! Can’t wait to see what happens next! If I could give the book a 10 star I would.

Designation: First book in a series, ends on a cliffhanger

So this blurb does not clue you in much as to what the story really is, so let me try to fill in some blanks for you.

Cara Mia’s mom passes suddenly when she is 12 years old and she has never met her father and doesn’t even know his name. So she is raised by close family friends, Wendy and Tom. We flash forward to when she is 18 and going to prom with Kyle. He turns out to be a jerk. Then we pick back up when she is 21 and working in Phoenix at Planners Plus. One day for lunch she meets Amber who works at Bull Dog Protection and Investigations with her brother. After talking for a few weeks, Amber convinces Cara to come to the Friday night get together at Jessica and Nate’s where a bunch of her friends hang out.

One day at lunch Cara realizes she forgot her wallet and a handsome stranger buys her lunch if she agrees to eat with him. When she realizes she needs to go back to work, he calls her boss and gets her lunch extended. He seems like a dream and later she decides to ask him out to lunch, but then she sees him on Friday night and he is with his girlfriend Hanna, but he says that it’s not what she thinks. She immediately shuts him down and says that there will never be anything between them since she will not come in between their relationship.

So will Jordan choose Hanna or Cara? Will Cara meet another guy form Bull Dog Protection who is a better fit for her?

So while the blurb did not really reflect what the story was for me, I actually really enjoyed the story. There was a whole bunch of suspense and twist that I didn’t see coming. I actually really like Jordan and hope he turns out to be a good guy and he gets it to work with Cara.

The downside is that this ends in one heck of a cliffhanger and I really am on the edge of my seat waiting for book 2. Also, while I enjoyed the plot, it seemed a bit choppy at times, but overall it was good for a first release.

I really had no clue what to expect going into this one. I think the title threw me off (because I couldn't stop thinking about which characters would fill the roles in this famous fairy tale, even if it said "Forget" Cinderella) but I'm kinda glad it did. An alpha Hero, a surprising heroine, trampy ex-girlfriends, an unexpected family, a crazy-a** bad guy, HOT lovin'... this book had a little bit of everything!

Admittedly, it started off slow for me. The story started when Cara was 12 (so you got a look into her childhood) but didn't really reach it's stride until she turned 21 & met Jordan & Amber. The lack of contractions made it slightly awkward sounding & times but once she became more social & participated in some get-togethers, it flowed much more smoothly.

I loved witnessing Cara's transformation from super-blushy, innocent, kinda boring Cara to sometimes-blushy, undercover-spitfire, hornball Cara. When she proclaimed the "Hate" & the "MINE!"... I became a full-fledged cheerleader for her. BUT... Then she had to go & harsh my mellow by agreeing to a meeting with the evil troll. I'm still baffled by that one, especially since both her AND Jordan agreed on it happening. *shakes head* I know she'll stay strong but am sad that she's hurting right now!

I mentioned in the beginning that Cara was surprising but Jordan was too. The special gift he gave her, his below-the-belt "extra" & the way he claimed her really made me a Team Jordan kind of gal. I did want to junk punch him a couple of times (for his lack of explanations) but he was pretty dang swoon-worthy for the most part. Here's hoping he gets the chance to exact some mighty big revenge soon!

And Good gods, that CLIFFHANGER was brutal! Looking forward to getting my hands on the next book!!

FOUR STAR REVIEW
****

Forget Cinderella
Tracey Champion

Forget Cinderella is the debut book from author Tracey Champion. For a first book, this was pretty great. Here's my top 3 star worthy thoughts on Forget Cinderella.

3) The storyline is really good. It has a wide range of emotions to experience. It's also got its fair share of plot twists and suspense. It does have an ending you don't want to miss.

2) Sexy alpha male alert. Jordan brings the hotness factor to a new level. Gotta love a sexy male lead.

1) For a first book it's worth a read. The amount of feelings and passion put into this book is evident in the reading.

Ms. Champion gives us some crazy moments in Forget Cinderella. Definitely got my attention. I think this book was good and I totally cannot wait until book 2 gets here.

*I Received an ARC for AN Honest Review*

I would like to state I knew I was going to be reading a romance Novel. I didn't realize I was going to be reading an Erotic Romance Novel. I Not a fan of reviewing those. So I will not being sharing my opinion on the Erotic parts of this book. For the Reason alone what makes me go ohhh and Ahh will not be the same, and mood killers for me, will not be the same for you. This is what makes us awesome!

Instead, I am going to focus on the story alone. Story Line was strong. Characters were good. I couldn't relate to Cara. I think that is cause even with all the strife she somehow remained innocent and a bit naive. Maybe I am jealous of her being able to be that for so long. Who really knows. Her growth as a character seemed a bit jarring at times.

Even though the copy I was given had errors in it ( This happens at times with ARCs of any kind) Even if this book wasn't my normal cup of tea. ( Yes, I do read erotica from time to time) Even if I won't say what was plus and Minus with the erotica bits. I can see many of great things coming from Tracey Champion. I can't wait to watch the growth that will be happening with each and every book that she puts out there.

4 Stars. Only cause I am a stinker who enjoys going in blind when it comes to new authors. I was unable to get pulled into the book fully. Plus, The Damn Cliffhanger. That was just mean!

I recommend this book to anyone who loves Erotic Romance.

OMG!!! What can i say, im speechless which is a miracle in itself! This book deserves at least 10 stars! It has literally just blown my mind compleately!!!
It begins by giving a background of Cara Mia (Cara) growing up and what a happy life she had with her mother... Until a month before she turns 13 when her whole life as she knows it, gets turned totally upside down!
She suffers terribly at school with rumours and teasing on top of her devastating circumstances. She manages to pull herself through and once she reaches 18 and has graduated, she leaves and starts her new life.
She works at a couple of temporary jobs and she meets Amber during a lunch break and they become instant friends... Then she meets Amber's brother, Jordan!
The instant attraction between Cara and Jordan is crackling with so much electric you can feel it through the pages! But there are many problems they need to overcome only to have more bigger problems continue to pop up causing heartache.
Can Cara accept that Jordan is telling the truth?
Can she open her heart and let him in?
Will Jordan be able to prove that she holds his heart?
Will they finally get to share their HEA?
Or will circumstances pull them apart forever?

This is the first book I have read by Tracey Champion, and if I am not mistaken this is her first published work. This is why I read, I can find new Authors and watch the grow in their careers and I have no doubt Miss Champion will do outstanding. Now on to her book Forget Cinderella. I LOVED this book. Her characters are well rounded and very believable. They could be your next door neighbor or a person you pass on the street. Her story line hits you in the heart. You either want to hug them or shake some sense into them. I fell in love with the whole crew. Cara Mia makes you want to grab her hold her in your arms and tell her everything will be okay. When it comes to her father you want to yell and scream at him, how could you do this to her? How could you not step in when her mom died? How could you abandon her? Jordan Carter is one hot hunk of man. You just wanted to cheer them on and help them overcome all the issues and obstacles in their way. I do not like cliffhangers but this one left me breathless, I can not wait for the next part of their story.

**** 4 Stars on The BIG O Scale ****

Being a lover of fairy tales I was eager and excited to read anything having to do with Cinderella. Poor, neglected girl who loses her parents. Has a witch for a step mother. Goes to a ball, meets the prince and lives happily ever after.
Right? Wrong.

This was a slow burner for me, but once it got going it was like a snowball rolling down hill with the story getting bigger and bigger, leading up to an exciting climax.

Jordan, our hero, caused my lady bits to tingle more than once and made me want to jump into the book to fight Cara for him.

Cara, our heroine, did an incredible amount of growing throughout the book. Despite her circumstances she matures and becomes a strong young woman, someone who deserves the good things life has to offer.

Be warned, there is one heck of a cliffhanger at the end of this book but it won't be too long until the next in the series comes out.

Recommended for all lovers of Romance.

Big HUGE 5 STARS for this installment in the True Loves Fairytale series. I loved this book. Devoured this book. Cara is this sweet girl that has some tragic bumps in her road and lives a pretty solitary life. No friends no family. Flash forward to grown up Cara and not much has changed. Still on her own. Out on lunch break one day she meets Amber. Amber instantly leeches herself to Cara and soon become great friends. Amber has a huge group of friends and family and Cara becomes immersed into their lives. Now Jordan...Amber's brother...SWOON! Cara and Jordan instantly connect, but Jordan has a girlfriend...Hanna. BOO! No spoilers soooo....mad drama ensues and Cara finds herself with danger at her back and family at her doorstep. Then, ta da EPIC of all EPIC cliffhangers. Hold on to you kindles people because this book might make you throw it. You will be thirsting for book two by the end of this read. Again HUGE 5 STARS

Ok so Tracey is a new author to me and I went into this with so many questions about the story I love the cover of the book it's beautiful but it is definitely 18 and up content in the story. I love Cara she is the main character and this sweet girl goes through hell literally in this book with the loss of her mom at such a young age and a MIA father she is left with only extended family to take care of her and then she meets her friend Amber who has a brother named Jordan and the two of them save cara from her despair I loved the hot scenes the author is very descriptive with them and you get so stuck in the scene one could almost forget that this is a work of fiction. I loved the book I give it 4 stars the cliff is killing me now so be warned there's a huge cliff at the end omg I can't wait to see what happens next:) Great work of fiction and definitely will recommend to others:)

Okay where do I start!
This is an amazing book! Even with the cliffhanger I LOVED it. Cara is somewhat weaker than I hoped she would be. But when your prince is taking care of you why not give in, right? Hmm wrong. Jordan and Cara are the most right thing about this story even though it's a short period of time at which this book is placed. I love them and I love the entire story. From Cara's Mom, to Cara's Dad, to Jordan, hell to all the charactees. I connected right away to this book. I was crying my eyes out after 2 chapters. Thank you Tracey for writing this amazing book. I can not wait to get a paperback copy and for the next book to come out. Truly amazing book! Highly recommended!

I received an ARC for an honest review of Forget Cinderella
Forget Cinderella is the debut book from author Tracey Champion. Tracey is just starting out but to read Forget Cinderella you would think she has been writing forever. Cara and Jordan's story is not a fairy-tale. It has its twist and turns, ups and downs, and just when you think you have the figure out Tracey twist it just a little bit more. Just the way she told the story you weren't just reading it you were a part of the story. This book is fabulous it's hot, emotional and a must read.

Omg what a emotional read. This book had me hooked from the begging. It took my heart right with it. It had me sobbing and crying my eyes out. Like ugly crying. It had me tense and it had me melting. This story is crazy good. And really draws you in. You feel everything this book gives you. It will tear your heart out and make break down. But it will also build you up again to be ripped apart at the killed cliffhanger ending. CANT wait for the next book

This was a good debit book. I thought I was going into well a remake of Cinderella. But no this had drama twists and romance.

This really had me trapped into the story wanting to know if cara would get her hea she's been looking for. No spoilers but I did enjoy this.

Looking toward to book 2. And seeing Tracey improve and grow as a author.

Spiced

A spiced read on a cold January day. I like Cara 85% just sometimes I wanted to yell at her. Not coming from a family like hers it was hard to believe so accepts so quickly about her father and his family which leads here paranoia of her boyfriend. The villain ex-girlfriends were piling up. Good friends as support for Cara.

This is not what I was expected! It was way better! I thought it was going to be a light romance but instead I found action/suspense/ amazing alpha and very hot sex. I usually don't like cliffhanger but the book it's worth it! Amazing story 5 stars!

I really enjoyed this book, there is romance and twist and turns and its not all hearts and flowers which i loved cause real life ain't no fairytale. l fell in love with the characters and damn i want to meet some of the men in this book.
