This is the second book of Cathy Johnson's that I've read. This one resonated more with me than the first one. It was very interesting to join her on her walks and trips exploring and investigating the land surrounding where she lives. Her writing in many ways reminds me of John Muir, Henry Thoreau, John Burroughs, and many other Naturalists. They seem to view nature closer and deeper than most people do. They take the time to quietly sit and observe a plant, tree, flower, rock, bug, bird, or animal and evaluate the over all environment and how all of these pieces relate to each other.
