Inept hitwoman Maggie Lee has a lot to juggle. She’s about to start a new job, her niece, Katie, who she is responsible for, is finally coming home from the hospital, and her ever “helpful” aunt has hired someone to help with her care. Fresh out of the Navy, Angel Delveccio is not anyone’s idea of a typical nanny. Which is convenient, considering Maggie’s life is anything but typical. With the help of her snarky lizard, moody cat, and goofy dog, Maggie tries to solve the cold case of her sister’s disappearance, while contending with the present day threat of a violent ex-con, all while playing instant “mom” and trying to ease Katie’s transition into her new home. Can Maggie juggle it all? Or will all of these distractions prove to be deadly?

These books are always great fun to read. Katie comes home! Will Maggie side work come to an end? I mean she has two jobs and Katie's healthcare needs will be less. Even if she isn't a hired gun anymore I think life will continue to be chaotic. With her family how could it not?

Maggie finally gets to bring home Katie! Aunt Susan hires some help in the form of Angel (Mr D's nephew) who makes no bones about his attraction to Maggie. Patrick is out of town on a job and Mags is trying to keep Templeton out of trouble with surprising results that end in tragedy.

Does no one proofread books anymore?

I really enjoyed this series when I began it. The interactions of the various characters, both human and non were interesting and often funny. The plotting was weak in that all the problems of a particular story suddenly resolved themselves a bit too patly in one or two chapters. But then, 2 or 3 books ago, facts changed from one book to another (quitting of friend from job) and then in this book, the villain's name changed several times throughout the book, and the author couldn't even keep track of one person's ice cream flavor within the same chapter! Plus of course there were the usual egregious grammatical errors that are showing up in all too many books, such as using I instead of me. It really breaks the flow of reading, spoiling the enjoyment of the story. My personal ratings for this series started at 3.5 stars, but have slid to 3, then to 2 and now to 1. I will get the next book in the series, but if it doesn't match up to the first books in the series, I won't be getting any more after that.

Recommended for: any cozy mystery lovers who enjoy some added humor

Summary: Maggie quits her full time job in order to have a more accommodating schedule because Katie is finally coming home! Of course the cast of characters that make up Maggie’s family and friends, along with her side job as a hitwoman, cause an entertaining combination of complications.

Review: This is probably always one of my favorite cozy mystery series. This is number 11 in the series so there are an abundant amount of recurring characters. That being said, I never feel like there are too many to follow.
The first line of the book made me laugh, while further along in the story I actually teared up!

Favorite quote: You know it's going to be a bad day when you get smacked in the face with a thong!

i love the book but my favorite thing is the animals. They are up to their old tricks. It was so good I couldn’t put it down. I love the way you have given her 3 guys fighting over her. Keep up the great stories. I hope you never get tired of writing them because I will never get tired of reading them!

Spoiler alert: I hope she gets her communication skills back. What a crazy day.

I love this series, but this book was a disappointment. Little action, dull plot, lackluster dialogue, and it only moved the series forward in the sense of bringing Katie home. Overall, the content of this novel would have been better suited to a between-books short story, rather than a full length, full price book.

well then

I really enjoy Maggie. She is getting into even more trouble. The animals are hilarious and I really like GOD. He is a funny lizard who sounds like he is English and the Doberman who doesn’t know grammar. Piss is the most funny with her uptight haughty attitude. This is getting better as it progresses.

Needs a good editor

In the 10 previous books, the mobster’s bodyguard nephew was named Vinnie— in this one it’s suddenly “Vinny”. How did no one spot this before it was published?

Also there are at least 2 separate instances where entire paragraphs were duplicated. They’ve even been highlighted by so many other readers, it shows up as “frequently highlighted”.

This entire series is amazing. The characters are so engaging. I feel like I’m going to be so sad when I get to the last book - as long as they keep coming- all will be well. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a very entertaining, engaging story. Get on this series- you won’t be sorry!

Manny

Maggie, I have switched teams. I am now team Angel. Patrick is a scoundrel. Templeton may be a rat, but he is like a pet rat. You find him creepy at times, but loveable enough to keep around. Another head injury Maggie? You are going to lose your marbles.

Mayhem continues as Katie finally comes "home"

The adventures of Maggie and family continue with lots of twists and excitement! While Maggie wasn't asked to complete any tasks for the Delveccio family in this book, she had her hands full working at the Corset for Aunt Loretta and starting her real estate job for Aunt Susan's ex-boyfriend's sister. Now if you think this sounds a little confusing. just wait! By the end of the book Maggie has two men interested in her, Katie has come "home" from the hospital, Maggie has survived another car crash but with devastating consequences, all while a recently released prisoner endeavors to kill Templeton and endanger the family as much as possible while trying. As Maggie tells Angel Delveccio, the new manny, "Run!" (while you can! is implied.)
The book is fast paced and over before you know it-much too soon! There are some funny spots that made me giggle, and parts that almost brought tears. I loved the book, just wished it was much longer. If you have read the other books in the series, you won't want to miss this one! All the other books have been leading to this one. This is one series you need to start at book #1 and read in order. If you don't, there would be too many things that didn't make sense. Every character has their own important history, and without knowing those histories this book wouldn't be nearly as funny or exciting.

Poor Maggie she can't catch a break. For every good thing that happens to her there seems to be something bad to come along with it. Author JB Lynn juggles characters in this series with incredible skill. The twists and turns her mind orchestrates are interesting and humorous. I know i am going to laugh when i read a books in this series. The Hitwoman hires a Manny is not a exception. Maggie is finally bringing her niece home. In all she has to prepare to do that you know it can't be a simple thing. Her aunt helps out by hiring a new friend to be the nanny for Katie or in this case the manny. Angel is not just your typical manny. He comes with some secrets. Maggie has to juggle two or three things while getting things ready or she might actually get to relax for once. JB Lynn gives us a little bit of insight into Maggie's life like always in this book and still gives us more mystery. She's has a way of keeping her audience guessing. Exciting from page one to "The End" The Hitwoman Hires a Manny is a exciting page turner.

Great Series!
This is a great series; this is the eleventh book in the Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman series by J.B Lynn. This book can be read as a standalone, but once you read this one then you will want to go back and read the other books in this series. Maggie Lee is an inept hitwoman, her niece Katie, is finally going to come home from the hospital. Maggie’s aunt has hired a manny to help care for Katie. The manny who was hired is the good looking Angel Delveccio who is fresh out of the Navy and who happens to be the nephew of the local mob boss. On top of all that she needs to help protect her aunt’s boyfriend. If you are looking for a great fun mystery that will keep you reading way past your bedtime then you need to read this book. I can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

JB Lynn does it again with another killer installment of the Neurotic Hitwoman series. I love Maggie, bless her heart, and I understand what she's under a lot of stress, but I kinda wanted to shake her a little. (Yes, JB has written this character so I do feel like she's real and a friend and needs a good shake every once in a while.) I'm totally lovin' Angel. He's a way better man for Maggie than Patrick - who has too much baggage of his own, and like Maggie needs that in her life. Patrick might be the bad boy she lusts after, but Angel is the marrying kind. And also totally lustworthy.

And the end?? When that thing happens? OMG, you can't DO that to me. (I hate spoilers, so you'll have to read the book. And definitely read the afterword, where JB assures us all she'll fix it in the next book.) Now I have to wait for the next book. Arrgghh.

I loved this book - it's a great addition to the series. In this novel, Maggie realizes that she needs someone to help her care for her niece when she is discharged from the hospital. Her aunts "help" her with this decision, which leads to lots of awkward and funny situations. As Maggie deals with this, she starts to examine her life choices while also dealing with her secret life as a hitwoman.

This is a wonderful book that I highly recommend to fans of the genre. While it is a stand alone book, you will enjoy it so much more if you read them all.

I loved this. Book. Maggie is an inept Hitwoman who only took the job to have money to pay for her niece's hospital stay. Maggie has quirky friends and her aunts are a trial. But, she manages to get through it all. This time she is taking her niece home from the hospital but needs help to care for her. Enter Angel, the nephew of her on again off again mobster boss. She ends up with a manny and then hits her head, which interferes with her communication skills. It is a fun read and I can't wait For the next book.

Another homerun in this series! Instead of getting boring, this series seems to just get better and better! I'm excited about the Angel character!!! I'm still torn about Patrick - I'm also a big fan of Zeke but don't know enough about Jack yet...Nice to have so many luscious options! Anyway, Angel is Delvecchio’s nephew and Maggie hires him to take care of her niece. He just so happens to be extremely nice to look at! The rest of the family makes their appearance in the book for more laughs. You will love this latest book in the series!

One of my favorite series for fun and light reading. This time was a tad different than the others but starts to answer some of the lingering twists of the different character plots. Can't wait to see more of Angel, the Manny.

I'll admit, after reading this one, it was time to re-read the whole series (as if I hadn't already) and was sufficiently satisfied with my binge reading.

I don't write many reviews because my words never seem to cover my feelings but Maggie and The Hitwoman series is a positive exception...perfect for an afternoon of easy, funny reading.

As usually Maggie has all kind of crisis happening at once.

The only problem have with this series is I'm so caught up in the storyline and then is over the suspense drives me insane. I mean really will Maggie and Patrick ever get some alone time? Maggie needs some fun her life if not with then her Armani need at least girl weekend I mean I'm surprised the women hasn't a mental breakdown by now. I do look forward to what ever is Coe next.

Maggie number 11

A solid hit again! J.B Lynn has mixed mystery, romance, and humor into a wonderful book. I could not put it down! I read straight through. It was so good. Maggie's wit kept me chuckling to full blown cackling. I enjoyed the heat between Maggie and Angel. I can't wait to find out where that goes. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who was up for a fun ride!

Ok, so Maggie is still doing her thing and finally Angel, a prospective love interest. Perhaps she will get over her fragmented not a real love relationship with the bigamist Patrick and just be mentor coworker. Ha! Though I can see where Angel's involvement could be a little sticky its got to be better than the hold Patrick has over her that keeps her from having a relationship with another man. Still I love this series. On to the next book.

Just when I thought I couldn't love this series more, JB Lynn does it again! I really can't get enough of Maggie and her family. This time Katie is coming home. Of course, Maggie is terrified. Aunt Susan decides to hire a Manny to help them out. And you'll never guess who it is! And as usual, there's so much going on that if you blink, you'll miss it!

I Confess - Another Great Book in This Series!

I must confess - I downloaded this book today & read it in one sitting! I could not put it down! It was one thrill after another with an extremely surprising ending!! Without giving away any spoilers, make sure you read the author's notes at the very end as she explains her reasoning!

Always a good story

The series just gets better and better. I enjoyed that the story focused more on the family this time. It will be interesting to see how the relationship with with the new manny develops. The ending was totally unexpected. I'm anxious to see how things develop.
