This book had lots of good photographs and diagrams. However, it was very factual and not really inspiring. It is a good reference book, or perfect for digging deeper into the world of insects once interest has already been awakened by a living book.

We read this straight through in very small increments over a long period, along with narratives like Among the Meadow People and Among the Pond People. The kids did seem to enjoy the small factual paragraphs, but next time I will leave this out for a free read rather than using it as a school book.
