Karina Wallace has worked hard to turn her restaurant into a wildly successful business--and to raise triplets alone. But she certainly didn't expect Karl, and Karlton to make it their job to find her a husband. And she never dreamed they would choose the town's new sheriff, Phoenix Dye, the only man she had ever loved and never forgot losing.
Even as a child Candice Poarch was a dreamer and created scenes in her mind. She quickly fell in love with writing stories centered around families and romance. The quest for love is universal, she says. Being familiar with rural Virginia, she portrays a sense of community and mutual support in her novels, many of which are set in small-town America.
Candice grew up in Stony Creek, Virginia, south of Richmond, but now resides in northern Virginia. She has been married for thirty years and is the mother of three children. A former computer-systems manager, she has now made writing her full-time career.
With This Kiss was originally released in 1998 and is now being released once again. This book was just okay to me. I have read some of this authors other work and I can tell she is getting better. The book was good for it to be free but not a book I would recommend to anyone!
Here is the actual description of the book: When Phoenix Dye returns to Nottoway, Virginia, after an eleven year absence, little did he know that the bothersome triplets who live across the road from him are his children by the only woman he has ever loved.
Karina Wallace once believed in love, too, but all that changed after that one incredible summer spent with Phoenix. He disappeared without a trace, leaving her pregnant and alone. Now he’s back and she’s torn between telling him the truth or leaving things as they are. She feels Phoenix will only be in town for a short time. Why let the triplets fall in love with him only to be heartbroken when he leaves? But when she is blackmailed, will she be forced to tell him the truth?
I saw this book on amazon, free for kindle and decided to give it a go whilst I was ill a while back. It took a little while to get into the book but once I was in, there was no getting out! After I managed to really invest myself in the book and the characters I just couldn't put it down. I loved how Cheeky the triplets were and I found myself begging Karina to tell Phoenix that they were his children. I felt myself hating 'einstein' and really wanted him to just leave them all alone. Although the plot was a little predictable, with phoenix getting the girl, phoenix catching the bad guys and then everyone living happily ever after, I still really enjoyed it and would recommend it for an easy read, despite the fact it took a little while to get into.
Just OK...the cast is COLORFUL and lively...the triplets are ADORABLE...and TROUBLE with a capital T...their antics throughout makes for some FUNNY dialogue...the romance between Phoenix and Karina is SWEET enough...but SLOW, FEW and too FAR between the pages...lol...after almost 11 years...guess I just expected MORE passion and FIRE...but I was still ENTERTAINED by the secondary cast...and the mystery and suspense...TRULY hope Jonathan's story is BETTER!
Just so you know the description on goodreads is for the wrong book. It was an ok book for, the story was intersting enough that I might get some of the other books in the series, but not interesting enough that I have to rush and download them righy now. The triplets where cute but the parents were a mess.
This ebook I received free from the author is a testament to how lack of communication can change a relationship in a heartbeat. The main characters, Phoenix and Karina, are both to blame for the trouble that ensues, but redeem themselves as the story progresses. This was a quick, entertaining read with a nice twist at the end.
I love these triples. They are mischievous as all get out, but they actually help solve some crimes. It's great that Phoenix and Karina were able to reunite after so many lost years.
