This photographic project compiles more than 500 images to reveal the fundamental elements of wrestling, highlighting its theatrics and providing a glimpse of this wildly popular ritual by letting the photographs tell the story. A lo largo de 20 años, la fotógrafa Lourdes Grobet se ha adentrado en el mundo de uno de los deportes más populares de Mé la lucha libre. Este proyecto fotográfico y documental recopila más de 500 imágenes y transmite los elementos fundamentales de la lucha una manifestación de la cultura popular mexicana originada en la antigüedad, asociada a lo ritual, ligada a lo teatral y profundamente identificada con los fenómenos sociales de la actualidad.

A delightful photodocumentary on the real luchadores of Mexico. Although not officially connected, this book provides an in-depth insight to the inspiration behind the movie, Nacho Libre. Over 300 pages of visually stunning photographs that capture the heart and challenges us to reexamine the meaning of humanity.

This book is a bit of a mess. It jumps back in forth through the history of Lucha Libre, making it more of a pastiche then a story. But the pictures are fantastic, it gave me a great intro into Luchadores and their cultural significance, and made me want to learn more about them. Also, it's written in English and Spanish so it was good Spanish practice for new learners.
