A wonderful book. Every Christian should read this book. It brings forth great truths. Highlights the true nature of God which has been misrepresented by so many. Contrasts how God operated in the old testament and how he operates in new testaments. Above all brings to light how most Christians still rely on works to get God to move in their life. He points out clearly that its not our works or our performance that will transform us but rather being God conscious is what will transform us.

A great book for people who think God is going to strike them down at the slightest mistake. This book will teach you to run to God, not from Him, when you do something wrong and start feeling condemned or guilty.

I feel like in trying to explain the nature of God, this book could be very confusing. I think there are a lot of us who try to explain things, and maybe get too wordy and jumble meanings causing parts of what we say to be a bit contradictory. The Word of God explains His nature much better than we ever could. I get the purpose of wanting to set people free from the idea that we could earn God’s love and blessings, but if you compare God from one part of the Bible to another, you need to remember a few things…

No matter if it is Old Testament or New Testament, God is “the same, yesterday, today and forever.”

According to the Old and New Testament God is compassionate, merciful, slow to anger, abounding in love, quick to forgive, ready to heal, close to the brokenhearted, gentle and kind, and so so much more.

His whole purpose from the very beginning was to have an intimate relationship with us. Yes, the law was given and showed us we needed a Savior, and only through Him could we ever have a true relationship with God. But the old testament did not contradict with God’s nature in the new testament…

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.”
‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

““Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness...”
‭‭Nehemiah‬ ‭9‬:‭19‬a ‭NIV‬‬

“He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭10‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭94‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭145‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭2‬-‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I know this book was meant well, I just felt it could cause some confusion with some of the wording in various parts.

This book has set me free in many ways. I think people in general have a tendency to stick with whatever is familiar with them instead of embracing the truth. Many see God as like their parents, all controlling, abusive, angry, indifferent and conditional. Andrew really reveals that God is loving kind and cares about us. We don’t have to work for him. He works through us. I think the church over the years has really defined God like a mythological character in the sky who we have to obey and follow his plans or else we get punished. The views are changing thanks to teachers like Andrew Womack. If there are Christian’s out there who still view God like the God of the church of yesterday, you need to get with the program and change because whether you like it or not people are waking up.

Old vs. New

This author has a way of presenting or uncovering what is presented in the OT that I never considered in my wildest dreams. In essence, it was a stop-gap measure to expose sin and cover it until prophecy was fulfilled and Jesus could arrive upon the scene to deal with death and sin once and for all and give us a spiritual path to a personal relationship with God. I have a better understanding of how and why things happened as they did, and why we see God as we do.
Finished the book in two sittings, a fine read.

A must-read for anyone who wrongly believes God is judging you or hating you for your sin. Andrew explains God's true nature so simply, you'd have to be dumb not to understand it. It's no secret: You're not perfect, and you never will be. God knows that and he loves you unconditionally anyway. This book will set you free!!!

A fantastic big picture explanation of the God of the Bible, and how the Old and New Testaments harmonize with one another. Great reminders of foundational truths!

This book was a great teaching tool along side the Bible

I gave it a 5 star for a very simple reason. The author was able to back up his statements with the Word of God.

So schizophrenia is not what he was supposed to write. Schizophrenia is when you hear or see things. Bipolar makes more sense. That just bothered the shit outta me. Other than that good book

Out Standing

Clear presentation of God’s love for His creation and how often we misunderstand the love and acceptance available through Jesus’ sacrifice.

Truth will set you free

Awesome book!!! I have been saved for 53 years and this teaching is necessary. God has revealed himself to me more accurately through this teaching! The church desperately needs to know God for who is is… I have been in many churches and this Truth missing, for the most part. The Truth will set you free🙌

God is an Atheist

Let’s Try a New Theology based on an Incomplete Ontology. The lesson of philosophy, unlike religion, is that if you feel your abandonment you cannot simply redress it through elaborate ritual or sacrifice. Abandonment is part incompleteness. For example, in Christianity, we must accept being abandoned by God because with Christ on the cross we see the point where God is abandoned by God. Thus paradoxically, for us to be abandoned by God is what reunites us with God. There is no stepping out of this abandonment because abandonment is just another way of claiming human free will or freedom. Abandonment, this just is the truth of the human condition. The very gap that appears to separate us from God is found in God himself. In terms of abandonment, are the words of Christ upon the cross ‘God why have you abounded me’ (Matthew 27:46 & Mark 15:34) to be taken seriously or not? Hegel saw this, that upon the cross God himself either died or became an atheist. This is a radical split in God himself, when God himself abandons himself and becomes an atheist, this is really the true nature of God, at least it is the truest nature and most upgraded image of God that I can manage. Our reality itself just is incomplete. It is this crack in the structure of reality itself, the realization of abandonment, that allows for us to have religion as part of and apart from, our incomplete reality.

Again, in the Christian example, God presents us with the depth of His own inexplicability. There is a dichotomy in the cosmos. There is the cosmos as we can rationally comprehend it and there is the cosmos as it truly is. The impossibility of ever fully grasping the cosmos as it is in itself really is our best understanding of the cosmos. Human understanding is only partial, thus the cosmos and God himself can only be partial to us and a mystery even to Himself. The aim of Christianity is freedom, and this can only be understood through atheism as mentioned above when God became an atheist. Christianity is not a sacred myth that must be believed in spite of the atheism that is born out of its finitude. Reality is incomplete; thus there can be no complete understanding of reality.

We are orphaned and alone. So, we have to content ourselves with wisdom, philosophy and speculation. We are in a sort of hell already where we can do nothing but dream, roofed in as it were, and cutoff from the completeness of reality. Belief in the Resurrection in necessary for salvation but salvation is needed to believe in the Resurrection. This circularity is our hell. Paradoxically, atheists make the best Christians because one must be an atheist to understand Christianity. After all, God is nothing without His adherents.

Healed my heart

I grew up without a good father, and male figures throughout childhood and into adulthood have not been good. Because of this I have struggled with the image of a loving Heavenly Father all of my life. At 59, I finally understand what a good father is and that God is all of the loving Father I'll ever need. Andrew's ability to write in a way that snaps formerly mysterious and misunderstood Biblical concepts into clear focus can only be a gifting from God himself. A 'must-read' for anyone, male or female, who has a complicated past with male figures, or grew up fatherless, or believes God is mad at us or has spent too much time in the old Testament and believes God is a wratJul God, or just feels unworthy to come before the God of the universe... this book is pretty much for everyone!

Reading a lot of books on the subject of God and Jesus Christ gives me a lot of room for thought. I was again led to read this book after having read it over 5 years previously. Received more revelational knowledge after 5+ years and read it as if it was the first time.
Of all the books I'd recommend for spirtual growth and understanding, this one is top of the list next to "Spirit, Soul, & Body. (Both by Andrew Wommack) Understand these two and you will be enlightened in all areas of the Word.
A strong recommendation!

Completing this read a third time and mesmerized by the fact that it took me deeper than the last time I read it.
Understanding the true nature of God will allow me to freely approach Him to discover the depths of His love towards me.

I agree with a lot of what he says here and feel that I have gotten some new good ideas to think about from him. Especially in regard to how the old and new testaments relate and how God is consistant throughout history dispite his different attempts at relationship with His people through time.

The writing style is quite difficult and is better suited to speaking rather than writing.

2 1/2 ⭐️'s. There's lots I really didn't like about the authors perspective, but I did learn something by reading this book. Take it with a grain of salt and you may find some helpful nuggets. Nothing revolutionary, but sometimes we just need to hear what we already know in someone else's voice to really hear it.

Life changing

Life changing, that’s the best way to describe this book. Some of the concepts presented might be shocking to the average Christian and non-believer, but if you can open your heart up to study this out and confirm what the book says in the Bible, this is life-changing revelation.

New perspective for me

I have been Mormon for many years, but something was missing. This book really helped me understand who God is and how much he loves us. It helped me see that sin is forgiven by faith and not works. I'm liking forward to reading more of this author's books.
