This book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.
I LOVED THIS BOOK.
The idea was so original and you could feel the effort that A.M. Hargrove put into Serena and Sabin's story.
The whole book was so easy to read and get into, absolutely addictive. I shed a whole lot of tears when I read Serena's background and am absolutely baffled how she became such an impressive human being.
Sabin, the book, and title made me research a whole lot, which I really appreciated and loved getting into.
I explained to many friends why they need to read this book and seeing as I love supernatural/mythical romances a lot, I especially enjoyed the new things I learned and that the author made an effort to involve another language.
There were so many surprises in the whole book, so many things I never expected and loved even more because of the authentic way it was put into use and words.
Serena clearly had a hard life while growing up, but became what she wanted to when she finally had the chance to flee from her bullies, all of them.
Sabin, who in my eyes overcame just as many obstacles, is rather gruff in the beginning, but I loved reading his POV, as it gave me a better insight into his thoughts and how he just didn't manage to translate them into words.
Both main characters are strong and admirable seperated, but together? It's like they're the new Bradgelina, only a lot, lot, lot better and more impressive.
This said, the only thing in this book that I disliked was the reunion part.
As someone who is actively against bullying, I didn't appreciate how Serena handled seeing her former class mates, or Sabin for that matter, because they became the bullies, too.
I feel very strongly about bullying, which is the only reason why this book gets 4 out of 5 stars from me.
Thank you for sharing, A.M., it was a great story and I can't wait for the next books in this series.
