Lost Kings MC #2

Corrupting Cinderella

Rate this book
I'm not Cinderella. But he's my Prince Charming.

Our story isn't a fairy tale...

How can a lawyer and a criminal maintain an enduring romantic relationship?

Although attorney Hope Kendall cares deeply for President of the Lost Kings MC, Rochlan "Rock" North, the truth is they come from completely different worlds. Add to that the fact that they are also both headstrong people, and they have a very rough road ahead of them.

For Rock that means introducing Hope to what it really means to be part of his brutal and shady world, where the Lost Kings Motorcycle Club is his main focus. For Hope it means accepting the things she can’t change, and understanding that Rock is a man who will do anything to keep her safe.

As Rock continues to draw Hope deeper into his world, painful misunderstandings, past relationships, and opposition from the members of his club will threaten to drive them apart.

~4.5 Corrupting Stars~
"You're just as clueless as Cinda-fuckin-rella aren't you? He doesn't 'like' you. He's fuckin in love with you."
description

Corrupting Cinderella is the second book in the Lost Kings MC Series and the continuation of Rock and Hope's story was full of emotion, heartbreak, action, and love. Now that Hope and Rock are together, can a lawyer and the President of an MC co-exist?

description
"His love is a precious gift that I won't allow anyone to tarnish with their ugly words."
Hope is completely captivated by Rock. His overbearing "take no prisoners" attitude consumes her. As Hope navigates her way through her new "MC LIFE", she questions her ability to be the woman that Rock needs her to be. Some of Rock's brothers are less than thrilled to have a civilian lawyer hanging around the club. Additionally, there are plenty of Rock's former flings hanging around to remind Hope that she is out of her league.
"You aint ever gonna be one of us, sweetie."
description
"I couldn't stand it if something happened to you, baby."
Rock is head over heels in love with Hope. He is battling his loyalty to his club and his love for Hope. It is evident that he must make some decisions on how to balance both. One thing is certain, Rock and Hope are madly in love and he will kill anyone that tries to take her away from him. But can he break down the walls that Hope herself has put up? With Rocks love and devotion for Hope, anything is possible!
"He keeps driving into me deeper, working me harder. Everything centers around where we're joined, pleasure drowning me until I can't hold back any longer."
description
"I'm so fucking in love with her that I don't care if she fits into my world or not. I'll find a way to make this work, because there is no other option."
Told in dual POV, Corrupting Cinderella was a stunning addition to the series. I loved the internal battle that Hope and Rock had to face. The pacing was packed with action, drama, tenderness, and steamy sex! (YES!!!!) When Hope and Rock are together, their physical connection is explosive! The supporting characters continue to enhance the plot with their witty banter and boisterous behavior. The character connections and loyal bonds are the driving force of this series! To say I have fallen in love with the men of the LOKI MC would be the understatement of the year.
"I honestly think if someone threatened to take him from me, I would kill them."
description

Overall, Corrupting Cinderella is a must read for MC Romance fans! The focus remains on the romance and each moment is captured beautifully. Warning~once you start this series, you will not be able to stop! The natural writing and endearing characters will keep me coming back for more! Bravo Ms. Lake! Bravo!

Incredible follow up to Slow Burn! Surpassed all expectations!

Sequels can be tricky. Sometimes they’re better than the first book. Sometimes they fall short. Corrupting Cinderella…I’m blown away. I don’t know if I have ever loved a sequel so much!
It’s all the best parts of Slow Burn times a million.
More Rock.
More Hope.
More smoking hot, dirty sex.
More time spent at the clubhouse.
More WRATH.
More Z.
More Sophie and Jonny.
Just everything I wanted this book to be!

Rock needs Hope to fit into his world. He is patient, sweet, and loving with Hope always. Even when she’s a pain in the ass, he just works harder. He’s sexy and dirty as hell, but always respectful of Hope, which I love in my alpha males.
Example: (spoiler) Inga comes to the clubhouse to do a private show for Rock. The only thing Rock’s worried about is if Hope is uncomfortable.
“I pull Hope into a corner spot and position her on my lap so I can watch her face. At the first sign of unease across her pretty features, we are gone. “You all right?” I ask.
“Never seen anything like this,” she answers without taking her eyes off the girls.

That’s fine. I’ve seen enough porn star flesh to last a lifetime. But Hope? This is a brand new vision, and I want to sear it into my memory to take with me when I’m on long rides without her.

Panty. Melter.

Hope. Hope is funny. She’s strong and independent. But she has definite moments of weakness. She’s still grieving the loss of her husband, which was very authentic. She doesn’t always know her own value, which makes her an interesting and sympathetic heroine. I also love how when Wrath gives her shit, she stands up to him. It’s the first step in earning his respect, and I just loved the interactions between the two of them throughout the entire book.

The Lost Kings MC

We get to spend more time with the club. More of the members and their family. We spend more time with Trinity and learn more about their business. We meet one of the older members who was only briefly mentioned in Slow Burn.

I can’t even describe how good Corrupting Cinderella is. So many awesome, unexpected things happen. There is danger and suspense. LOTS of hot sex. Lots of funny interaction. A lot of emotional moments that moved me to tears. The author really develops the backstories for every character with such care, that you don’t feel like you’re reading backstory. It’s just GOOD story telling and GOOD writing (something the MC genre is sorely lacking a lot of the time). The story moves along and flows really well. There aren’t any dull moments. Seriously, I can’t pick one. I just want to hang out with Hope, Rock and the rest of the Lost Kings for-freakin-ever!

This series is going to be something spectacular.

Well done, Ms. Lake. Well done! I am eagerly waiting for book 3!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Really enjoyed this second book, though I do have to say that Hope got a bit on my nerves. I like my heroines a bit more badass, to be honest, but it is oke if they are a tad bit shy, I can deal. Hope, however, was a little bit too naive for my liking.

At times she did stand up for herself, but most of the time she was portrayed as an innocent shy and naive woman with tears in her eyes that couldn't take care of herself. I mean what do you think an MC club does exactly. I would think being a lawyer and having met him when he was an arrestee, would give her a clue that not everything is squeaky clean. Everyone knows that MC clubs are into dirty stuff... I mean come on!!

She also knew he was getting blow jobs from a club whore/ pornstar in closets before she officially got with him, so his former sex life shouldn't be a surprise either...

Now it is not that I hate Hope... I don't think anyone could really hate her, she is much too nice for that. It is just that I wanted her to be a bit more tough-skinned. I did see her grow a bit though, so I am hoping that growth will continue in the next book ;)

So 3,5 stars for this one, because I felt like Hope regressed a bit from book 1.

If you read MC Romances for blood, gore, violence, trashy women, and abusive treatment, don't read this. If you love hot, well-written romance stories with a badass, but sweet to his woman, MC President, then this is your book! This series should appeal to any romance lover not just MC readers.

I have no words for how much I loved Corrupting Cinderella. Never mind, I have plenty of words for how much I loved this book! Hang on!

Rock has to be the greatest alpha hero ever. EVER. He is sweet, protective, loving, understanding and over-the-top filthy HOT. He's developed a bit of a fetish and I will never look at a certain article of clothing the same way again! *fans self!*

Hope is probably one of my favorite romance heroines, ever, ever, ever. I just want to hug her. She's so REAL. I feel like she could be my best friend. She isn't perfect. She's still struggling with the loss of her husband. This touched me so deeply and felt so honest. I would have hated her if she all of a sudden forgot about the man she spent many happy years with.

Hope has trouble understanding Rock's lifestyle and the choices he makes, which rang true to me. She keeps trying to fit in though because she loves Rock. (what's not to love!?) I don't see how this soft, well-educated woman would all of a sudden become some badass biker princess and I probably would have thrown my kindle across the room if that's what the author tried to do. Hope stays very true to character and I loved it. She doesn't use her fists to prove her worth to the club, she uses her lawyer skills, which makes much more sense. She also has a protective mama-bear attitude when it comes to certain club members and their family that I loved. Hope is all class.

Rock also has to adjust his attitude when it comes to dealing with Hope. She can be stubborn and independent, when all he wants to do is shelter and protect her.

I love how the author did not try to turn Hope into some trashy biker's old lady. Hope has a crisis midway and thinks she's too soft for Rock's lifestyle and the people he hangs out with. Rock so sweetly tells her that is why he loves her. If he had wanted some bitchy, brawling woman for an old lady he could have had his pick-but he wants Hope the way she is. I just LOVED that about him.

Besides Hope and Rock, the other characters are full and rich. OMG, I love them all! We get to spend so much more time getting to know Trinity and the brothers. We also get to spend more time with Hope's friends-- and Hope has some very interesting friends! We get more about the history of the club. How the guys met each other. More club business. All of it so good and so seamlessly written!

I came to adore Z. He's a prankster, but he's also good to Hope, and tries to help her when he can...unlike Wrath...

Oh Wrath. How I love him and can not wait for Book 4. He picks on poor Cinderella (Hope) constantly, but you can see glimpses here and there that he is doing it for her own good. He starts to come around and see that she's good for Rock and good for the club too, and it's neat to watch him adjust his opinion on his president's girlfriend as the book moves along.

And Trinity. Probably the greatest "club whore" ever written. Following her evolving friendship with Hope was so much fun! I can't wait to learn more about her. I also want to know more about her relationship with Rock, dammit!

If I had to say there was anything I didnt like it's that we don't see much of BRICKS. I missed him! We only see him a little bit at the end!

I thought Slow Burn was amazing, but Corrupting Cinderella is just beyond. I can't wait for the next book!!! I'd give this one 10 stars if goodreads let me!

When I read Slow Burn, the first book in the Lost King's MC series, I was so impressed with how the author wrote a biker romance that was refreshingly different, mature and full of well developed and multi-faceted characters. When that book ended we were given an HEA for now ending, because honestly Hope and Rock had such different and opposing lifestyles and backgrounds, that it looked to be almost impossible to make it work out in the long run.
Now with Corrupting Cinderella, we get back to them and it becomes a test of time to see if they will be able to mesh both of their worlds and function as a couple despite all the outside forces that want to keep them apart.
Rock has his faithful club brothers (some who like Hope and others who don't think she belongs with him) and when his very loyal protector Wrath decides Hope is no good for him (because she is a distraction and not able to deal with their lifestyle), he makes no bones about letting her know how he feels. Added into the mix is the pressure of exposing Hope to "life at the clubhouse" and especially the parties, and when Rock finally takes her to one, to see how she can deal with everyone and to officially make his intentions known, she is faced with the harshest mean girls around and especially Rock's EX Inga (hate her!). A lesson as to how some dumb bitches will degrade themselves to get what they want, seems to be the message Hope gets throughout most of her encounters with women from Rock's past, but an unlikely friendship (and alliance) with club property and sweet girl Trinity puts a different spin on things and changes how Hope is looked at by Rock and his crew.
We also read about some rival clubs causing threats, some business partners who want to up their stakes and Hope has some issues with her wild girlfriends and unexpected trouble from clients. A BIG secret that Rock kept from Hope regarding when he "fired" her as his attorney in book 1 comes to light and the truth of why he did it, threatens their relationship and causes more mistrust.
I really loved how this book showed the difficulties of mixing the two worlds together and didn't gloss over the harsh realities or make it seems like a fantasy, and despite the book's title, I don't think that Hope looked at herself as a fairytale princess. I think all women want a man who is protective and caring and although many times Rock behaved in an over-protective "caveman mode", his heart was in the right place and his motives were genuine and coming from a place of love.
This books ends again with an HEA for now, but just like the first book, there are STILL secrets Rock is keeping from Hope about his business affairs and who know what will happen when the truth is revealed...plus I'm hoping for more from Wrath and Trinity. Excellent follow-up and I can't wait for book 3!!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 ++++ Rocking HOT Stars

My adoration for a new MC and a seriously GORGEOUS alpha man is confirmed. I devoured Slow Burn which was the first instalment of Hope and Rock's story. That ended well and this picks up a few weeks later. This book is about them adjusting to each other's world and finding their way together. They are from totally different backgrounds so be prepared for some fireworks but ultimately, these two are soulmates in my opinion. I am itching for the next book (coming in February) . No cliffhanger.....just the promise of more Rock and Hope. And Wrath, Z, Murphy, Axel, Trinity and more. Can't wait.

Re read via audible 2021 - narration by Troy Duran and Noelle Bridges. (Fab narration- 5 Star).
I love this book so much. I love the whole series- Autumn Jones Lake creates an amazing world within the Lost Kings and at the heart of that is the strong sense of family and unity she develops. I have re read some of the books more than others but each time it's like meeting up with old friends and there is something incredibly comforting in that. The passion, the camaraderie , the humour and the plot threads that weave through the series keeps me coming back for more from the Lost Kings.

Hope and Rock are crazy hot for each other, but they definitely come from two different worlds. A fact that Wrath doesn't let her forget as he tags her as Cinderella and accuses her of just wanting a walk on the wild side. She is learning more about his world thanks to him and Trinity. I so love Trinity and I definitely want more of her story. Hope isn't just trying to find her way in his world she is also trying to do the same in her world. She is trying to get her career back on track, but it isn't an easy road which has a bit of a speed bump thanks to one of Adam's clients. Then she and Wrath bond over an attach which results in a serious injury for him. I loved the scenes at the accident and in the hospital between them. It was if you could sense that they were becoming family. I really loved that Autumn kept Hope true to who she is throughout the story. She freaked out at times and doubted her ability to fit in, but at the same time she grew stronger in herself and also her relationship with Rock. At one point she went ahead and called herself Rock's old lady. Loved that she stood up for herself and for him. Rock is just plain hot. I love his penchant for naughty talking and that he was all about supporting and protecting his woman. You gotta love those alpha bossy men. I want more of their story and I can't wait to read Wrath's story as well.

I give Corrupting Cinderella 5 hearts!

With the first book in this series, I made a comment in my review saying I felt it ended abruptly. I don’t mean it ended on a cliffhanger but more so that I felt like there was still more story about Rock and Hope. I just thought in the next book we would get another couple and then maybe get some additional info on Rock and Hope ……..BUT NOOOOOOOOOO, this whole book was also about Rock and Hope. I am glad that I got some more insight to their characters and I liked having more of their story. What I didn’t care for was the back & forth and the not sticking to a decision.

I do want more of this MC’s story and the secondary characters are great, so I will keep reading the series but at least now I know that the next book I will be reading is still going to be more of the 2 main characters.

PHENOMENAL FOLLOW-UP to Slow Burn, which was already a fantastic book. Blown away!
I don't know where to start. Corrupting Cinderella is perfection. Rock is still a dirty-talking, bass ass biker MC prez with a borderline obsessional love for sweet, sassy mouthed lawyer Hope.
Love both of them!!!
Lots of layers and deep, emotional conflict to their story.
I can't wait for book 3 and for WRATH'S BOOK! I need more Lost Kings MC!

Original review

In this, the second book in this series Hope struggles with Rocks world, it's all new to her not only doesn't she know where she stands she doesn't even know the rules of the game but Rock is behind her every step of the way, protecting and helping when he can, even when she doesn't realise or want it, but Rock's not always going to be there and Hope is going to have to find her place in the club if there's any chance at all for the two of them.
Not only does Hope have to find her way in Rocks life amongst the club girls and bikers but she's not used to having a partner who keeps secrets from her, club business is club business and this is difficult for her, she's independent and headstrong but she has a big heart, the question is will this heart ease her way into his 'family' or will it break under the misunderstandings.
Could Rock be the perfect male? he's hot, of course but he's also honest, loyal and faithful and he loves and isn't afraid to show how much he cares and this is so much more refreshing than I expected. The job of introducing Hope into his life is not an easy one and he takes it one step at a time, never lying to her and it can't be easy for him especially when the past keeps jumping up.
My only complaint is that Hope started to annoy me a bit towards the end of the book, I got a little fed up of her running away every time something came up that she didn't like, she's a lawyer and should therefore understand that communication helps, I know it's difficult since at times she feels out of her depth but it's the main reason for the 4 and not 5 star rating.
This is a great book, a beautiful romance, a continuation of their story and like the previous book there's no 'end' as such but also no cliffhanger it just leaves it open for the next book leaving us to decide if we want to continue with them on their journey together or leave them to it.

Well, book 1 in that series was very good.
I liked the characters, the plot and the writing. Finally an MC book without serving one stereotype after another. No virgin damsel in distress, ....
I would have preferred it a little darker and raw but that wasn't what the book was named with in the first place, so no critic there.

But book 2 is just plain and simple annoying, most of the times.
The sex scenes: not really creative:
he gets "hard" and "harder" ... i stopped counting the amount of times how "hard" he gets, then there are her sounds... yep the sounds. Which make him even harder in return. She is of course every time tight and wet and hot. And everything on repeat. I started skipping those scenes.

The heroine: well the heroine, turns into a hypocrite, she wants to be independent, i get that, she tells him to back off but when she is confronted with situations she can't handle, she curses him for not being there for her.
She is portrait as an educated, independent woman, a practicing lawyer. But is apparently not capable of research how a motorcycle club works or the basics at least. But blames him, he is keeping her in the dark. She shows no effort whatsoever in his direction or interest. She isn't able to count 2 and 2 together during conversations. She ends up having no common sense, although she practices LAW. Sure she isn't a criminal lawyer but you can't tell me she is clueless about the criminal world in general after a long term law study.

“Hope, baby. You know how the guys keep referring to you as my ol’ lady?” She lifts one shoulder and nods. “I used to get annoyed when people thought I was younger, but I can’t say I’m thrilled about being called ‘old.’”

Let me tell you, she is bloody sincere saying this. I know, right!?!
Sometimes i wonder if she is really over 30 years old or lost all rational thinking somewhere along the lines in this sequel.

So, very disappointing this book turned out to be!! ;-)

"Understand where I'm coming from. A real man looks after his woman."

I'm not one to read a series with the same couple. That means more drama, more breaking up and making up. Sometimes, it works, the books are good, sometimes they're not. Thank God this is the first!

While yes, there is drama and breaking up and making up - hoo-boy, the making up is always hot - it just shows the truth, the way a relationship of that sort would be in real life. Yes, I know this is fiction but I still like it when I can read about things that can happen in real life. And the relationship between Hope and Rock is not one to work so easily. They're really opposites, it's not just wham, bam, they have sex, fall in love - or the other way around - and that's that. He tells her about the club, the business and she accepts all of it, like a good girl and boom, HEA.

That would have been kinda dull, actually. Nobody would have bought that, fiction or not.

And actually, I'd have done the same as Hope. I actually think I'm not ol' lady material, hah, hence why I live vicariously through MC book characters.

So, in this one, Hope and Rock continue telling us their story; showing us how they feel and what they think, the struggles; in other words, the good, the bad and the ugly. Because it's an MC, of course there's ugly too. There were times when maybe one or the other was overreacting, but don't people always? What made my day[s] was that I got more Wrath than I was expecting and man, that big bad blonde either made me want to smack him or melt because he was all mushy.

We get to know the characters more, MC background etc. We also get glimpses of future books, I say.

All in all, really liked it, loved it and I'm giving it 5 stars and it's a definite reread. Highly recommend it to MC lovers.

Corrupting Cinderella was the second book in the Lost Kings MC series by Autumn Jones Lake. It’s also the second - but not final - part of Rock and Hope’s story.

I liked Rock better but it was still hard to like Hope and to see them together. Her innocence made her an idiot too frequently. The storyline in this second book was about furthering their relationship and overcoming their differences. It was a little too slow for me and needed more substance. It could easily have been shortened and incorporated into the first book - or possibly the next book - for a shorter but still enjoyable story.

I continued to enjoy how Lake incorporated other MC brothers into the storyline and I’m really looking forward to Z and Teller’s stories. Until then, there is more with Rock and Hope.

This book is for you if… you'd like to enjoy a biker romance that has more to offer than degrading women and brainless alpha males that like to kick everything in their closer surrounding.

Overall.
Well, this was a hell of a gem, thanks, Autumn Jones Lake. I was so happy to continue my journey through the LOKI universe and absolutely can't wait for the next books. I will, however, have to pause this adventure for about a month [insert sympathetic awee here] because I am going on a field trip with my research group [insert not so sympathetic but rather jealous awee here]- Anyways, this is not over and I am glad the sequel was a very good book. It makes me hyped to know MOOORE.

What’s happening.
It seems like Hope and Rock have finally somewhat settled into their relationship but they are both confronted with the harsh truth pretty quickly. Rock's manwhore past is a big burden for them both, especially since it pretty much spits in Hope's face. Another harsh fact they both have to deal with is Rock's rough daily routine. The danger that threatens his life every day brings Hope to a point that makes her question, whether this relationship really is the right thing to do. This entire struggle is spiced up with some really nice sexy time and a lot of fun banter that I enjoyed smiling along with.

Also, can we talk about how obvious Wrath and Trinny are? I am really hyped to get to see them round each other in the coming books.

Ok I'm tapping out, while Rock continues to be a sweetheart this unfortunately isn't working for me. It's pretty similar to book 1 as far as ife read

The book focuses more on the couple and the building of their romance
A bit of drama that involves guns
Club bitches, most of whom were Rock's hookups get u in Hope's face
Trinity and Wrath continue to go closer, though it's often one step forward 2steps back with those 2
Hope becomes insecure again, necessitating Rock to again bend over backwards to prove he loves her and will do anything for her

A
L of the above happened in book 1.......and in book 2. While I appreciate how devoted Rock is I'm s bit bored so I'm putting this one on hold hopefully to be continued at a later date.

*Note to self- Trinity is a sweetheart and should I ever develop the courage to step wayyyyyy outside my comfort zone by reading about a club girl I'd give her book a try* hopefully someday

This series keep getting better. More layers and answers to the characters. I just love Hope and Rochlans journey and how they fight for their relationship. I'm equally invested in the other characters as well. Need to know Trinity and Wrath's history. Just need more of this MC series.

~*~ Obsessed by Books arc copy given in exchange for an honest review~*~

It's rare I am lost for words but this is one of those moments...this is not what I was expecting. You read the blurb and expect typical MC fare but this is so much more. This is a heart achingly beautiful love story describing the difficulties of melding two very different lifestyles. Rock is the President of Lost Kings MC, his world is violent and illegal. He is in love with Hope, a Lawyer, who he hopes to make part of his world. The transitional period of the relationship, the ups and downs, self doubts and worries are explored.

This book is very realistic as Hope questions whether she is good enough but doesn't try to become a MC typical Old Lady or Club Whore, she remains classy. Hope stays faithful to her upbringing and nature but calmly rationalizes the lengths Rock goes to for his club. She balances what he is with who he is to her. Likewise Rock has to juggle his club duties and tests the loyalty of some with his chosen Old Lady. Their relationship is fraught with issues that can't be swept under the carpet as two polar opposites collide.

The supporting characters such as Trinity, my all time favourite club whore, Wrath and Z all made me sad that I haven't got the next books in the series to read now! They are loveable characters and I can't wait go get to their stories. This installment is full of excitement and the plot is fast paced, filled with the right amount of tension and danger. I loved it! A four star read.

Continuation of Rock and Hope's story from Slow Burn.

Essentially the plot revolves around Hope and the ever yummy and almost perfect Rock growing into a new relationship and juggling the outside influences of Hope being an old lady, and Rock trying to figure how much he can hide from her.

Continued steaminess and a endearing couple keep this series going.

A solid 3.5.

The story picks up where book 1 ended. The author does an excellent job of continuing to draw me in to Rock and Hope's relationship. Rock continues to be the sweet, sensitive hero who respects Hope's feelings. The only emotion Rock experiences during the conflict periods with Hope is fear that she will walk out on the relationship. This book ends with a happy for now ending. Book 3 will continue the relationship.

Fantastic follow-up! If you love MC ROMANCES you HAVE TO READ THE LOST KINGS!
Well-written. Sexy, romantic, crazy-hot, dirty talking alpha-male who cares for his woman.

Wow! I didn't think it could be much hotter than Slow Burn, but Corrupting Cinderella is hot, gritty and still very romantic.
Love, love, love Rock and Hope!

Whatever the heroine is so annoying. So dumb and keeps whining. Such a drama queen! *rolling eyes*🙄

I really enjoy the characters and the writing, but I want something to happen. I need some action besides Hope freaking out when Rock does his alleged 1%er biker stuff.

Corrupting Cinderella is unlike any MC book that I've read.

At first, I had some difficulty going from the often standard written MC book, which I love, to a new kind of MC. The author did a phenomenal job with gaining my undivided attention within this book.

The characters are not your rough and dirty MC’s. There is no SOA in this book. But there is a love story. That takes the precedent of the novel. The character happens to be the President of the MC and she happens to be a civiivan but the story is about love and the MC is secondary.

I found the characters to be very detailed. I felt that the Autumn sculpted each of these characters but she designed them with their imperfections first. That was the beginning mold.

In this book I was actually learning about the people. I wasn’t just reading a story, I was being told a tale. Those are so much stronger than stories.

Thus far this has been a good series for me. Book two answered a lot of my questions and made me eager for more from this tale.

Hope and the Prez, have this unrequited love that is not easy and its more of a true everday dysfunctional relationship. But their dysfunction is due to the lifestyle and recent tramatic events that have taken place in their life. These first two books span 18 months or more. We see a lot of the characters and how they deal. This is not an insta-love book. And lately, that is all that is out there. It’s Iike, poof I love you and I met you two days ago. Yeah, you will not catch that here.

If you are looking for the easy happily ever after quick fix love, it is not here but Autumn does give us hope and not just the character but the actual feeling of hope. Hope that they make it, Hope that she can accept him for how he is, Hope that he can accept her, Hope that the club will accept her. There is a lot of pressure.

The best part about all of the HOPE, is that Autumn allows us to experience. I was emotionally drained. I had to take several breaks while reading this book. Normally, I can read a book in two days (at the most) and this book took me three ½ days to read. It was due to the emotions that were jumping off of my iPad and into my heart. It was overwhelming and glorious.

This whole story is about struggle, change, new beginnings and hope. It is actually quite poetic how she took a simple word, made it a character and in my opinion the theme of the book. Autumn shows us that MC books are not always gritty and that relationships are not always perfect.

At the end of the book you have to read the note from the author. Autumn answers a lot of questions that you might have about the characters and more.

In many fictional books the ending is mostly the same. That is why I call this book a tale, they are based on some parts of real events and not the glorious Cinderella and Prince Charming.

The unpredictability of this story and the overall concept is what made me love this book even more.

I HOPE you enjoy this new MC.

Happy Reading.

4.5 Stars

I have to say this series is quickly becoming one of my favorite MC series. I think Autumn did a fantastic job of continuing Rock and Hope's story in this book. I love that she incorporates real struggles between the two worlds and while Hope "gives more" that Rock isn't oblivious or obnoxious enough to think it's all about him. I think her secondary characters are incredibly well developed and enrich her stories greatly. I have to say I'm not sure that I would have held up as well under the same pressures. I really hope that she continues this series, I can see so much potential in it.

As much as I like the characters, I had some issues.

Rock calling Hope "baby doll" over & over was just a bit much. I found myself rolling my eyes at that. Then Hope's issue with wanting to know club business was ridiculous. She needs to let it go. Either accept it & deal with it or walk away & be done with it all.

I also felt like this could have been a shorter story. I felt like there was a lot of filler stuff to extend the length of this book. Most of the filler stuff was kinda boring & I found myself skimming through it.

All in all, it was an ok read.
