With a name like Mabel Butt, being picked on is the norm, so her job at the library was the perfect hideout. Mabel is so far in the closet, that even her best friend and secret crush, Sydney, can’t pull her out. Celeste, a beautiful, exotic stranger comes into the library, and changes everything. Mabel is defenseless against her charms.
To call Celeste a bit eccentric is an understatement, drawing the wrong kind of attention to her and Mabel. Soon it is discovered that someone is trying to tracking her down, With Sydney’s help a game of cat and mouse begins to try and keep Celeste safe.
Sparks fly all around the three women as they join forces in this romantic comedy, which really is out of this world.
Annette is an award-winning author, published by Affinity Rainbow Publications, who lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her wife and their five furry kids. With over thirty published novels, four Lesfic Bard finalist awards, two Lesfic Bard Awards, and one Goldie Award for her fourth novel, Locked Inside, she finally feels like a real author. Annette is as much a reader as a writer and always looking for the next lesfic novel to cue up. She came up with the One Fan at a Time tagline because it rolled off the tongue much better than One Reader at a Time. After pondering who she was at her core, it was all about connecting to each reader on a personal level. She would be the first to admit she doesn't do well with the masses. If someone picks up her book and it touches them she believes she has achieved what she wants with her writing by reaching each reader. It is who she is at her core. This was an insane, humorous and romantic story. It had me laughing out loud so many times. I loved how they were teasing and joking around, how Celeste responded to everything and her spot-on phrasing. The dialogues were superb. I fell off my chair with laughter when Celeste had read the lesbian erotica and mentioned what she has learned. There are many laughable moments and also no lack of passion, romance, drama and excitement. This story has it all. I loved everything in this book except for one thing, I'm very disappointed that the end came too rapidly. If you are looking for a good laugh mixed with great romance, this is the one for you.
My brother bought this book for me, just knowing that I wanted an Annette Mori book. I'm not really that keen on Sci-Fi literature altogether. But this book snagged me from the very first chapter! The two main characters were so very *pure*. And in that, there was not only a brilliant love story in the working, but a huge amount of hilarity as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I not only was kept on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next, where Ms. Mori was going to spin the tale, but was kept fairly laughing through most of the book. It was a *fun* book! And although there were hints at the ending, the final disposition of the characters was never revealed until the epilogue! Brilliant writing! I already know what I'm getting for my Christmas presents from my brother, "Live Forever, Love Forever" and "Asset Management", also from Annette. I simply cannot wait!
I just finished reading Out of this World by new author Annette Mori. Loved it. This is the 1st book I've read by Miss Mori. It's the story of a very in the closet, kind, mild mannered librarian Mabel Butts,( yeah really) and her friend Sydney. They come into contact with a Celestial being named Celeste who changes Mabel's life as well as her name to Bella, thank goodness, forever. I found it laugh out loud funny, heartwarming and it had all kinds of twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured out the story changes. Excellent read. I highly recommend this book. Thank you. I am now onto her book Asset Management.
Another great love story from Annette Mori. I really love the storyline of of two people from different universes looking for love first ding each other and teaching g each other about love. I really enjoyed the characters....even Hollie. You can't have a love story without a bad women. I would definitely recommend this book.

The prose was rather stilted, with little to distinguish the voices of Mabel/Bella and Celests, two of our three main characters. I also found it rather trite.
It certainly wasn't bad - I never had a 'do I really want to keep reading this' moment - but it's not great either. Fine for a quick, feel good read, although even by those standards it's fair to say there are better out there.
I read this book when it first came out but lost my copy somehow. Found it on Amazon and purchased the ebook version this time so that it will always be in my library to reread when the mood strikes me.
I really liked this book. Shy, nerdy, smart woman who thinks she is unattractive, get zapped by a sweet visiting alien woman, her life takes off in a new direction and she get the girl she always loved. Makes you feel happy and hopeful. Just an all around feel good book.
I loved the story and it made me smile and laugh. My only negative is the story seemed rushed at the end. I felt more could have been done with regards to the bad guys. I mean the climax was kind of lame.
