About the author

Stewart Stafford

3 books34 followers
Stewart was born in New York City to Irish parents. The family moved back to Ireland when he was three years old.

His natural gift for writing appeared early (he is related to the Irish poet Austin Clarke). His first school report card when he was five had just one comment at the end: "Stewart writes very interesting stories."

He listened to his grandmother's tales of the Banshee in her kitchen and was enthralled and terrified. It was direct exposure to Ireland's Celtic storytelling tradition, and he got hooked. Stewart loves the folktales, traditions and superstitions of Ireland, the country that gave the world the festival of Halloween and Dracula author Bram Stoker. He went on to do an Irish Folklore course in University College Dublin. He also has qualifications in Theatre Studies, Criminology and Social Media for Business.

This book deserves recognition as a classic in the vampire genre. It would have been so easy for the author to write a familiar story, full of clichés, but The Vorbing is an original story that provides a fabulous yet unnerving read – exactly what you’re looking for in a great vampire book. The plot is gripping and highly entertaining, the writing style is lively and fluid, and the narrator has a strong voice which really brings the book to life. The main protagonist Vlad is a charming and admirable character and his personality and growth are very well depicted and explored as the story progresses. The book is so well-written you really feel a connection with Vlad as you turn each page. You become so engrossed in the story it’s exciting to watch the hero face each new danger and humbly enjoy every one of his conquests. I really warmed to Vlad’s kind and courageous personality, his willingness to save his family, his burning desire to avenge his father’s death, and his struggle to free the village of Nocturne from the vampires’ grip. The Nightlord Deadulus and his frightening flock of vampires have a lot of characteristics you’d expect within a vampire story, but they also have quite a few unique powers that make the book even more spellbinding and terrifying when you discover how they use all these sinister powers to destroy the villagers’ lives. I also really enjoyed reading about all the mythical creatures that Vlad meets in the course of his travels and their introduction proved to me this author really has an incredible imagination. Finally, the twists of fate in the final showdown, at the end of the book, certainly make this book a winner. I think The Vorbing would make a fantastic movie and I’m looking forward to reading the sequel.

Halloween is approaching! Perfect time to snuggle up to a good read. Hold on
to your snuggly, because this will scare you pants off! Was never really a huge
fan of Vampire's after they became all glitzy and such. DOWNLOAD this E-BOOK
and prepare yourself. I believe the Author is from Ireland and it shows. His knowledge
of folklore and perceptions of the old ways is spot on! It will transport you and make
you grateful for your ancestral heritage and all they may have gone through to keep
you in the LIGHT! I never liked giving away too much to spoil a GREAT READ! So
all I will tell you is... YOU MUST READ THIS STORY! So grateful and KUDOS to Stewart
Stafford! ~ Well done lad! Well done!

The Vorbing is a must read for all. Mr. Stafford (who is my cousin and brilliant writer) takes the Vampire myth and turns it on it’s end by keeping to the original myths and dare I say history. In this fantastic novel vampires are neither gorgeous nor sparkling like most most fantasy novels or tv shows on the CW (The Vampire Diaries and the Originals). The novel keeps to traditional Celtic lore and as the series names is the Vampire Creation Myth. The characters keep you reading and the vampires keep you invested in this new haunting series. Grab your copy today on Amazon and enjoy being spooked even more this Halloween!
