Silas Davenne has wanted Hannah Valentine since the day he walked into her life six years ago. The problem? He promised her mother he’d protect her from his dangerous shifter life. And Silas Davenne never breaks a promise.
Hannah Valentine is on a mission. She wants Silas Davenne. After years of sexual tension brewing between them, she’s determined to either become his mate or move on for good. But after one tragic night, suddenly fate has other plans.

Silas and Hannah’s story brings all the longing and emotional tension I love in a fated-mate romance, but with an extra layer of emotional stakes. Hannah has wanted Silas for as long as she can remember, but he made a promise to her mother to keep her out of the wolf world—no matter how much it hurts. Watching Silas wrestle with his feelings and sense of duty was honestly heartwarming. He’s torn between love and loyalty, and it was so satisfying to see Hannah slowly chip away at those walls and remind him that she deserves to choose her own path.
What makes this installment stand out even more is how the larger story arc starts to take center stage. The growing investigation into a rival organization adds real suspense, and the threat they pose to the shifter family feels more intense with every book. This one makes it clear: the series isn’t just about steam and romance (though there’s plenty of that); it’s also about legacy, protection, and uncovering deep-rooted secrets. Silas and Hannah’s story is proof that these books really do need to be read in order—the emotional payoff and world-building just keep getting better.
From the brothers we are now moving on to the cousins. So this one I loved because when a woman wants a man she will pull out all the stops. And Hannah did she has been trying to catch Silas eye since she came to live with them when her mother died who is also Silas brothers mother. So definitely keeping it in the family. But H and S are not related because that would be a little weired. But things don't go according to plan especially when she is fately wounded he has to turn her so she gets what she wants and that is to be his mate. Great book
Book five Silas I liked the storyline I felt sorry for Silas trying to do the right thing, it was good how it unfolded Hannah mum would be happy with that decision.fate took over.
I found it stupid how Hannah do not tell about what she heard about shade, when smoke is talking about how he don't know how he showed up.it's clear the bad guys called him they was waiting for him she over heard that. Shade how shady is shade? Or is he just using them to take out bad guys for promotion?
I just LOVE Hannah, she knows what she wants and goes after it…. Ummm, him! While doing so she gets introduced to a blind date that goes soooo wrong and is rescued by Silas. He finally wakes his a$$ up and realizes he is about to lose the love of his life and takes steps to win her forever…. This book is a quick read but a wild one, read the whole dang series! It is a good one!
A quick read filled with sexual tension, action and intrigue. A worthwhile read for fated mate genre, shifter lovers, happily ever afters readers. I would definitely read the next book.
Awesome storyline girl and boy want each other but promises where made. To late she is looking else where now. The plot thickens and human trafficker tries to kidnap her amd a horrific accident and a choice is made. Drama, action, mystery and a twisted plot.
Six years ago a promise was made which has caused misery for Silas and Hannah, but fate steps in and changes everything.
'Silas' is the fifth book in the absolutely terrific Wolves of the Rising Sun series by Kenzie Cox, and is also part of the multi-author Mating Season Collection of stand alone paranormal romances. I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review and I really couldn't put it down. Well written in the first person, but with alternating points of view, this action packed story is a bit convoluted when it comes to relationships, both familial and personal, so a little background untangling will be needed, but please note that Silas and Hannah are not, and never have been, related in any way, shape or form.
Ex-Marine and co-owner of the Bayou Hidden Resort, werewolf Silas Davenne has spent the last six years making both himself and his mate, Hannah Valentine, as miserable and angry as they could be, all because he promised Hannah's dying mother, Lydia, that he would protect Hannah from the shifter life, even if it meant never being together. And Silas never broke a promise. Nobody ever even bothered to ask Hannah what she wanted, even though she made it perfectly obvious that she wanted Silas.
Lydia had spent several years living with Silas's father, although they never mated or married, and had his half brother, Wren. Silas and Wren's father was an abusive drunk who enjoyed other women and didn't want to commit to one woman for the rest of his life. Sick of it, Silas and Darien's mother had left when he was very young, Lydia was the closest thing to a mother figure he'd ever had, he loved her and even when she, too, left his father, she kept in touch with Silas, as well as her son Wren, and made sure he was alright. When Lydia asked him to make the promise, he had never met Hannah, but, her father having abandoned Lydia and her when she was barely a toddler, her half brother, Wren, was her only family and, aged just 18, she turned up at the resort shortly after Lydia's death. Silas knew immediately that she was his true mate, but he'd already made the promise.
After six years of getting nothing but frustrated, Hannah decided that if Silas wasn't going to make her his mate, it was time to move on, forever. After yet another argument, she goes for a night out with her friend Thea and then the trouble really starts....
I absolutely loved this book and really don't want to give any more spoilers, but this story has some wonderfully complex characters and relationships, some human trafficking bad guys to fight, action, and eventually, some steam with a happily ever after for Silas and Hannah. There is one character, Shade, making his second appearance in this series and even though he's portrayed as a good guy, I have grave suspicions that he may be the worst bad guy of all. I definitely don't trust him one bit. I really can't wait for the next book in this fantastic series.
Check out this review and others at www.Twinsietalk.com www.Facebook.com/Twinsietalk www.Twitter.com/Twinsietalk www.Tsu.co/Twinsietalk Newsletter : http://eepurl.com/brwkPv Silas by Kenzie Cox I received this book from the author for an honest review. OK a few reasons why I love this series? 1 the length. I can plan a quiet afternoon and get it read in like under 2 hours. 2 Shifters – UHM I love me a good shifter story. 3 Holy hotness!! These books are a great read with a quick plot but plenty of chemistry and Heat! Ok so there are a couple awesome thing about this series. This book is about Silas. He has been in LOVE with Hannah since the day he met her. He has known all this time she was his mate but a promise he made to her mother prevents him from following his desire. Hannah knows all about this shifter pack since her half-brother is a shifter. She loves Wren and his pack but really loves Silas. She is going crazy trying to get his attention and admission to want to be MORE with her. After a final attempt, Hannah is OVER IT! She goes with a friend to drink her sorrows away about Silas refusal AGAIN when she is almost kidnapped. Thankfully Silas was there to keep an eye on his mate even though he can’t be with her he will watch over and protect her. When something happens to Hannah, Silas has to make a decision for the both of them and hope that Hannah won’t be angry when she wakes up. I loved the story and hope that Wren and Thea will be getting a book plus I wanna know about this shady or not so shady FBI agent that we met in the last book. Something about this guy is not to clear.
I revisted this one in audio and the readers, Elena Wolf and Jeffrey Kafer were terrific!! Great intonation and timing plus awesome voices (especially Jeffrey's)
Silas and Hannah. My fave of this series is still the 2nd story, but this was fun too. Before Hannah was born, her mother used to live with Silas' father. They aren't really step siblings but Hannah's real brother, Silas' boss, sees it that way. A story of unrequited (to start with) love between Silas, the wolf and Hannah, the human. Silas had promised Hannah's mother that he would keep her away from romantic involvement with wolves. Hannah is frustrated that after several years, he still won't make his move even though she knows he is interested. SOoo she gets a makeover and decides to go out and get a man. Things don't go according to plan that night and Silas is forced to break his promise to her mother. It's short, quick paced and fun. I would have liked Silas to have to work more for her favour, but he was devoted and there's no mention of other women. My only complaint is a minor quibble
I was given an ARC of Silas from the author, in exchange for an honest review.
I quickly devoured this installment of Kenzie's "Wolves of the Rising Sun"... once again I was lost within the story. Next thing I knew I was finished, why did it have to finish???
Silas made a promise 6 years ago to always protect Hannah from the shifter lifestyle, although he's always wanted her, he keeps his promise... Hannah has always loved Silas, but over the last 6 years he's made it obvious he wont take the next step, Hannah decides to move on for good....
Oh my goodness, the tension between Silas & Hannah... I could feel it coming out of my ereader. Then the unthinkable happens & Silas isn't given a chance to keep his promises (so not going to ruin it for you), but damn it's good. The suspense Kenzie kept me in, WOW... I can't wait for the next installment.
Silas is book 5 in Kenzie's "Wolves of the Rising Sun" series, which in turn is a part of the "Mating Season" pack series. A set of books from 6 authors, 6 different packs & an individuals story on finding their mate. I'm hoping that wasn't the last novella from Kenzie's "Wolves of the Rising Sun" I've really enjoyed what I've read so far & I can't wait to delve into the other authors work in the "Mating Season" series.
He's big, he's badass and he made a promise to keep her far from the shifter life. What a pity she doesn't give a damn about the promise he made. Six years of misery later and Silas and Hannah are still in a flirting limbo but Hannah has had enough. Silas is going to man(or more likely wolf up) or she's done waiting.
Silas is fully aware that Hannah is his mate but through some very weird family connections he doesn't want to drag her into the shifter life. However that doesn't stop him from waging war against every other guy that comes a sniffing around!!!
When a night out with a friend takes a dangerous turn and Hannah is left fighting for her life, Silas has to go back on his word and Hannah may just get more than she bargained for!!!!
Complex characters, witty backchat, some truly weird step-sibling relationships ad human traffickers mare this a wonderful story!!! The steam comes late in the story but it is truly worth waiting for! Shade makes another appearance and I truly hope we get to see more of him soon, he is very mysterious!!! I'm hoping he's a good guy but with him you probably won't know till the last second!
This book is the 5th book in the series but you could read it alone if the storyline got your interest but then once your hooked you will want to read the others for the fun. Lol
This is about Silas and Hannah. They both come form a mixed up family but nether share a parent. Silas has always known Hannah was his mate but he made a promise to her mother that no one would drag hannah into the shifter world. You see Silas is a shifter and Hannah is human. Hannah has always loved Silas but he keeps her at arms length and she is over it, 6 years is enough but her night on the town makes it that only Silas can save her.
Great story full of drama, spice and action-packed. What a combo! I love the characters and we get to see I few from past book! This is a fun read you will not be disappointed. I recommend it to all shifter fans, Book gifted for an honest review and I honestly loved it. it's fantastic.
I love these wolves! Kenzie Cox does a magnificent job with the excitement and passion in this novella. Silas and Hannah have known each other for years, but never took the relationship to the next level, so when they do, it's explosive. I feel like this story moved faster than the others and still had me on the edge of my seat. It was interesting how Silas and Hannah started off in the book, and how quickly things changed. Also, I loved the situations that made things change between them. It was intense, and all the emotions practically jumped right of the page. It was so well written. I love that all these stories can stand on their own, but there is something building in all of them, so I highly recommend reading them. I've really enjoyed every single one, and they read really quick. Kenzie Cox rocks at making a strong impact with a short story! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Silas: Wolves of the Rising Sun Book #5 (The Mating Season Collection) by Kenzie Cox
Silas and Hannah have something in common.....a brother, Wren. Silas and Wren are half-brothers, same father and Hannah and Wren are half-siblings, same mother. Confusing? A bit. That is not what is keeping Silas from claiming Hannah though. It is a promise made to Hannah's mother. Not to bring Hannah into the shifter world. So he keeps Hannah at an arms length. Not easy but, he does it.
Hannah knows that she and Silas are meant to be together, but she is getting tired of hearing his excuses. Things either need to change or she is going to move on. Deciding to get out for a while, after another failure at getting Silas to break, she is almost kidnapped. There is a horrible crash and things change.....quickly.
Silas wants to be with Hannah, he knows she is his true mate but he won't give in to his desires. Silas knows Hannah's family doesn't want a shifter life for her. Hannah, on the other hand, doesn't understand why Silas cares what others think. One night, things change when tragedy strikes.
This story will quickly grab your attention and keep you reading. There is plenty of action, drama, suspense and romance to keep you interested. All of the books in the Wolves of the Risisng Son series are great, you won't be disappointed!
I was gifted a copy of this manuscript from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Brother knows best…NOT! Hannah and Silas have wanted each other for six years, even though they are convoluted family, but due to a deathbed promise to Hannah’s mother Silas won’t claim her even knowing she’s his true mate. Hannah decides she’s had enough and starts plotting to get Silas to claim her, but the unexpected happens and Silas has to choose between claiming Hannah and losing her forever. Loved this story! I just knew Silas wasn’t as big a jerk as he first seemed! The story of Wolves of the Rising Sun just gets better and better, and the Mating Season Collection is pure genius! **This book received in exchange for an honest review * *

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Kenzie Cox. This is book 5 of the Wolves of the Rising Sun series by the author.
Silas Davenne made a promise to watch over Hannah Valentine and keep her safe. When an accident causes him to make a split decision to save her life he knows he broke the promise. Hannah Valentine came into the pack when her mother dies because she had no where else to go. Finding sexy Silas was a bonus but he kept her at arms length despite her attentions until the accident.
Loved the love/hate between Silas and Hannah. The author wrote a great story line.
Silas, the Wolves of the Rising Sun by Kenzie Cox continues, told from both Silas Davenne and Hannah Valentine POVs.
Wanting Hannah since he met her... and Hannah loving Silas for the past six years, yet kept at arm's length away. He made a promise to Hannah's mother to keep her out of the shifter life. The promise quickly dissolves once Hannah decides she will no longer wait for him. Hannah's night out with a friend, quickly turns south. Silas in a predicament and will do anything to save Hannah.
Looking forward to more Wolves of the Rising Sun! I received an ARC of Silas for an honest review.
Kenzie Cox's latest edition of her Wolves of the Rising Sun, Silas is full of passion and intrigue. Hannah knows what she wants. She wants to be with Silas despite what her family wants for her. She had loved Silas for years. All she had to do is convince Silas that it's okay for them to be together. Silas loves Hannah but believes he can't have her. He promised her mom that he would take care of her and protect her from the life of a shifter. This story is full of love, hope, loss, intrigue and suspense.
This is by far the best story in this series. Loved Silas and Hannah. We also get to see a bit from Smoke and Scarlett who are from the previous story. This one here throws some new information at us about the overall plot of the story. Not going to say what because I hate writing reviews with spoilers. Also there are sex scenes in this story as well as the rest from this series. I just like to point this out because some people refuse to read a book that has that. Amazing read!!
I love the story torturous love story between Silas and Hannah. Not only was he told that she was off limits buy his half borther her mom also made him promise that Hannah never become a shifter. How can you ignore the intense feelings you have for someone? Especialy when that someone makes it very hard to think and breath. This book is definitly filled with tension between the two main characters. It's a great read that keeps you hooked and waiting for more!
Silas has wanted Hannah as his mate for a very long time. However, he won't go there because of a promise he made. Hannah wants Silas and lets him know but he keeps turning her down. When Hannah finds herself in trouble he is there to help. But he does the only thing he can when Hannah is hurt and her life is at risk he bites her. The hunters have popped up again but with a twist and a friend of Hannah's is in trouble. I enjoyed reading about Silas and Hannah and glad that they got their HEA.
What a way to finally get them together. But he was to stubborn to do it any other way. Thier brother would have to deal. They are mates and shouldn't be fighting that hard to stay apart six years is enough. Will they find out how that FBI agent is always there?
I received this free copy from the Author for an honest review.
This was a very fast paced short read with twists that had me wanting more. Silas had promised Hannah's mom that he would keep her away from the shifter life until the possibility of losing his life mate and all bets are off. Loved this book, loved the previous books and was glad that the characters from the previous books were supporting characters. Loking forward to reading the next one.
