When ambitious Olivia Parker is offered the prime position of assistant physician for the Las Vegas Sinners hockey team, she’s determined to prove she belongs there. But it’s lonely at the top. Her professional focus has lost her countless personal relationships, and now she’s ready for a fresh start. What she’s not ready for is her gorgeous new patient showing her everything she’s been missing. Could a shot at real love be worth risking her ethical code?
Grayson Gunn happily played his entire career for his hometown team, never having won hockey’s greatest prize. A surprise trade to the Sinners gives him one last chance at the Cup before he hangs up his skates, and nothing will stand in his way, not even the injuries that send him to the team’s pretty new doctor. A little flirtation now that he’s on his way out of the NHL can’t hurt though…right? But when he gets a second chance to keep playing, Grayson is torn between the game he’s lived for and the woman he can’t seem to live without.
I live in Ohio with my husband and Sylvie the cat, and I write hockey romance.
I played one season of roller hockey when I was fifteen--it hurt enough that I decided I liked it better as a spectator--and it's been true love ever since! My fictional team is the Las Vegas Sinners, and my real-world team is the Pittsburgh Penguins.
I like strong, capable heroines who bring out the vulnerability in their tough guys.
Kenyhercz really brings hockey to life in a way that makes it palpable to the masses yet stays true to the sport. The story is wildly romantic, yet still brings the realities of life together in a manner that had me completely enchanted. The intimate descriptions bring both life at the rink and the characters forward in a manner that allowed me to interact with the story.
I love the cast of characters that Kenyhercz brings forward in this novel. Not only do we get to spend more time with those that I’ve come to love throughout the series, but the new characters that we meet took the series to a whole new level for me. I loved getting to know the main characters, as well as the fact that they were not rookies. The mix of work and romance and the inescapable predicament that they find themselves in really had me wondering how it would all work out. I also just loved getting to know these two as individuals. They were so much fun and so loveable.
Real lives, real people, real romance, it’s the perfect mix for a fantastic afternoon’s read.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
Recently divorced and wanting a fresh start, Olivia Parker accepts a new job and relocates to become a physician for the Las Vegas Sinners hockey team. The last thing she wants is to have her ethics questioned by dating a patient. After a career with another team and announcing his retirement after the season, Grayson Gunn is traded to the Sinners in hopes of winning the Stanley Cup. After an injury, he meets the new doctor whom he cannot stop thinking about.
Katie Kenyhercz scores with Fair Trade! It is about second chances and compromises. It is a believable and heartfelt story that I could not put down. Fair Trade has become my favorite book in the Las Vegas Sinners Series.
I loved that Olivia is a team doctor. The sinners are a progressive organization. For them to have a female doctor is a great fit. Coming from the AHL, she knows her hockey players. I love when she asks the players on a scale from 1-10 how much does it hurt, that she always assumes that it is actually worse than they say. After all, hockey players are tough and will play through many crazy conditions, they do not want to risk being benched. I like that Olivia is very focused and hard working.
Greyson is a great character. He played with Oilers, his hometown team, for his entire career. The organization wants to give him a shot at the cup, so they trade him to the Sinners. I love that his old organization cared about him so much to give him that opportunity. I also, can understand how hard that would be for him and the feeling of guilt that would come with leaving his first team. Things like this actually happen in professional sports; it was interesting reading about the emotions Gunn experienced.
Being in my forties, I appreciated reading about older characters that have been in the field for a while.
Katie Kenyhercz does a great job writing the hockey scenes. She makes it easy to visualize every play. I love the sled hockey segment. She also does a great job relaying the team unity, portraying the group as a family. I enjoyed the plot. The story has a great flow and is well-written. There were some unexpected twists. The story is believable and has a well resolved conclusion. Fair Trade can be followed as a standalone, but if you enjoy hockey romances, I would read them all. You have more of an appreciation for the support characters.

OMG...I loved it!!! I was offered this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I don't like to do spoilers in my reviews to leave something to read. This book touched on the things that all hockey players have to face at one point or another and it is handled with much maturity, grace and honesty...it doesn't end where some might think though!
To me the most moving part of the book is when Grayson does something for an injured teammate, Colly (I smell another series book for him, pleasepleaseplease!) and almost brought me to tears because of his big heart and consideration. Not to mention how Olivia responds to the same injured player as well as all the support she gives the team. The feeling of family and "home" just envelops this whole book.
I promise if you take the chance on this book, you will not be disappointed except maybe with the length...lol. I am biased books are never long enough because I get drawn in and want it to last longer!
Yet another of Katie's books that you don't want to put down. I was on the edge until the very end! Olivia has always been career driven and finally gets where she always wanted to be. Grayson is looking at the possible end of his career. The two fight their feelings and the clashing of their careers until the very end of the book. Katie doesn't give a hint of what is to come leaving you hoping for your desired ending right up to the last chapter. Fair Trade's characters send you in a whirlwind of emotions and all you can handle.

I’m not sure where this new love of hockey romances has come from but I want to read them all. There is something about a world class athlete alpha man that gets to me. The story of Olivia and Grayson is no different. I absolutely loved that they were both older than the average couple in romance books!
At times Olivia was a tad annoying but I tried to see it from her point of view and it made her more likable. Grayson was such a great character. I loved everything about him. Their love story was sweet and had just enough twists to make it not predictable.
I reviewed her book before this one and said I needed to go back and read the rest of the books in the series but this time I’m actually going to. She has me completely hooked. I need to know everything about the Las Vegas Sinners. If you are a fan of Toni Aleo or Catherine Gayle you totally need to get your hands on these books. Everyone needs a bit of macho man in your life.
I love this series! Each book has become my new favorite...and once again sooo true! Great hockey scenes, fantastic story line and the characters you fall in love with. It is fun to hear from old characters along the way and this book just has it all! Absolutely fantastic!! The only thing missing...I have to know how things turn out for Colly!!! This book can be read as a stand alone...you'll love it!
I received a copy in exchanged of an honest review! what a great story! it really wrapped me in until the very end! my 2nd favorite couple of the series and I think that Olivia was truly one of the best heroines of the series to be honest! sad to be over with the series, but I can't wait to read more from this author!
