Bonnie Parker, PI #3

Bad to the Bone

Rate this book
Small-town private eye and part-time assassin Bonnie Parker is back, in another high-voltage adventure set on the Jersey Shore.

Bonnie thought she'd put her troubles behind her when she killed mob boss Frank Lazzaro and got away clean. But nothing's that easy. Russian mafia kingpin Anton Streinikov has taken a personal interest in the killing — and in Bonnie herself. He wants her delivered to his greenhouse, where very bad things happen.

It doesn't help that Bonnie's latest client has set the cops on her tail, giving the local chief of police his best chance to put her behind bars. All in all, she's had better weekends.

As night falls, she finds herself hunted by bad guys and cops, outmaneuvered, outgunned, and in the fight of her life. Luckily, only the good die young—and Bonnie is bad to the bone.

BAD TO THE BONE is the latest thriller from New York Times and USA Today bestseller Michael Prescott, author of COLD AROUND THE HEART, BLOOD IN THE WATER, and FINAL SINS. With over three million copies sold in both print and digital editions, Prescott is one of today's leading writers of crime fiction and psychological suspense.

Four stars overall, but I would give it five stars for the crime/suspense/thriller fiction genre. It has everything I want - engaging protagonist, pace and gratifying ending. Sometimes I just want a book to take me by the hand and lead me wherever it wants to go with seemingly little effort on my part and, so far, this whole series does just that.

Bonnie Parker is an anti-hero whom we appreciate and like from the start. Her actions and character throughout the story cement those feelings.

Michael Prescott writes in a way that keeps the reader engaged with storylines that move quickly and provide just the right level of backstory. Most characters have multiple dimensions, rarely falling into a single stereotype, and are full of personality. He details enough of the main players' history to weave in plot twists the reader doesn't usually anticipate. His books are a quick read for me, which, honestly, is one reason I enjoy them so much. Fast-paced action, solid character development, interesting plot twists, and not a 40-hour time investment.

Gruesome

Couldn't put it down except when it was so gory that I needed a break, or bodily requirements insisted upon it. The author seldom gives the reader a break from action. There are no boring little interludes. Bonnie Parker is one kick-ass female who gives her all to solve the problem at hand.

Very good read. Bonnie Parker is a hit woman. It is likely that she will be caught or killed. She does amazing things to get out of situations.

Bonnie Parker is a PI in a small town who sidelines as a hit woman. A girls got to make a living.
She is being pursued by the Russian mob because of a previous job. Her current client is freaking out and may give her up to the police. The local police chief has a hard on for her and would like nothing better than to to put Bonnie behind bars. Things aren't looking good for Bonnie. Bonnie is a hit woman with an attitude and a smart mouth, you can't help but root for her. The book grabs you from the beginning and keeps you hanging on until the end. I have been reading Michaels book since his Brian Harper days and have enjoyed every book. You won't go wrong with Bad To The Bone!
