William is the champion of a god in the sphere that he now calls home. Being a champion comes with certain powers and advantages; however it can also come with fearful and powerful enemies. When William's oldest enemy attacked his family, Will chased him across several realities, until he caught up with him, and finally slew him. However, champions always come back. Fortunately for William, his enemy was damaged years ago in one of their earlier fights, and it will be almost a year until he can come back, this time. Unfortunately for William his enemy is becoming a demigod, and if not stopped soon he may one day become too powerful for William to kill. William now finds himself in a race against time, needing to track down and destroy his enemy's hidden temples on Earth, before he can reincarnate once again. Complicating matters further, champions are unknown on Earth and Will's god holds no sway there, and Will has come under suspicion by at least one powerful government agency. And while William's god is sympathetic to his champion's plight, William must still put the needs of his god and his people before his own desires for vengeance.
I've had a very varied life. I grew up in New York, on Long Island. I went to school to become an Engineer, then joined the Air Force. After that I worked first in Robotics, then in Aerospace as a Flight Test Engineer. I moved into the medical fields, then into more Technical markets working for a number of high tech companies where I became a Contractor. I used to own and raise big cats. I love motorcycles and old cars. I'm a pilot and former martial arts instructor. I'm a fan of the Reno Air Races. Then there's the stuff I'm not supposed to talk about, but that's another story. I've seen a lot of interesting stuff go by, met a lot of interesting, wonderful, strange, or sometimes just psychotic people. I've had the opportunity to work on some truly game changing technologies. And while I've had some very bad things happen to me in my life, I've never let it stop me. Keep smiling. -John
So this book was much better. It was more like the earlier books. Will seemed to be more relaxed with his situation and didn't spend the whole book turning women down. He also didn't go the other way and have sex with any woman who wanted him. He found one woman and spent the entire story with her (for the most part), which made the story that much more fun (and not dark and moody like the last one). We get to see the conclusion of the Cen Storyline, which all I have to say about that is its about time! He should have been killed in the second book, and every problem Will has had with him is because he didn't kill him back then when he had the chance.
Entertaining, William goes on a quest to kill another God or demigod in this case. It was interesting to see Will actually working in his own sphere, altough I doubt he shares it with us the readers as it was first though. Good ending actually.
I superb finish to an amazing tale. I really liked these stories and even though it looks to be the last. I hope it gets continued. I'd really like to see where William goes from there. How he deals with everyone except him aging, and what powers his son gets. Until then, I guess I'll have to find a new series and hope for more portal stories to come.
Exciting continuation of the Portals of Infinity series. Although this story finishes an important story arc, I would enjoy reading more adventures of William the God-slayer.
Started this series years ago, just picked it back up after a couple of years.
Man, what a difference that makes. The MC has actions that say one thing and a self description that says another. It is the author wanting to have it all, maybe just a self deluded character. The lack of direction is another issue, this is just one reaction after another. Rereading the first books in the series, and my reviews were over rated. I would put them all at three stars now.
Will is trying to end his enemy Cen's existence by snuffing out his power base on Earth. This involves destroying all his temples and followers and that is taking awhile. He also gets pulled back into Fel's service to deal with some giant issues that are going on. Will and his fellow champions finally get the opportunity to go after Cen again.
This book had a straight forward story and one that was expected from the last book. The story did a good job of driving it and keeping it on point. The twist with the hidden valley was really well done and made the new character feel organic and needed. I liked the instant growth we got to see from that character as well.
About book six. Can't say exactly why however I just didn't like this one as much as the previous books. More typos in this one as well. Course and Coarse are not the same thing - nitpicking but still. I will still read the next one with fingers crossed.
This book is the perfect continuation to the story. It feels like the author just wrote the story continuously and after every 300 pages or so he published. I am glad I am reading this all together, I would have been hard to wait.
Fantasy magic portal travel harem This is book 6 of this multi-world and reality series. There are four more books, and I wondering what's next. No serious surprises, but satisfying. Recommended.
The long chain quests are my least favorite part of this series, but this one is well presented and the world hopping has interesting connections to long time 'B' movie fans ; )
Another good entry in the Portals of Infinity series!
These books are 5s because while he does all the things that je.does so effortly he still has doubts that it's right. But, he goes on and finish the jobs. he doubts himself but has a good somewhat moral Compass.
Another enjoyable entry in the series. Like the different stories and worlds that are interwoven. Always fun new characters or old ones coming out to play.
The series and the characters just get better with each book, the story is coming along good . I look forward to reading more from the author and the series 😀
For me this is the best book of the series. The plot is tightly focused, and even the side story adds to it. It is high paced, and there is a feel of threat both of failure and loss. If I have a complaint, it is that it is a bit short. Not sure how the story could be longer without loosing what I liked about it though.
Potential spoiler: Note that I found some parts about the negative portal a bit contradictory. Was he first told not to go through it, and then he still does it and everything is fine?
Portal hopping, evil gods & demigods, magic & technology, this series has it all! The MC, along with his multiple wives and lovers, are interesting and distinct in their personalities. The story is convoluted enough to keep the reader guessing. This is the 3rd time that I've read the series, and I'm still enjoying it. Keep it up, Jan!
