A fun BBW Roller Derby Romance - Part Two! After surviving tryouts for the roller derby team the Selby Slammers—and humiliating herself in front of her new team mates and the local men's inline hockey team—Hayley holds her head high and gets ready for her first game. The Wicked B*tches of West Auckland, however, live up to their name and cause all sorts of angst and grief for the Slammers—Hayley in particular!
Hilarity ensues as Hayley attempts to pick up—not only the pieces of her life after Paul—but Jake, the hunky hockey player. All while continually running into Rick the 'Dick' causes unexpected problems in her new and very hectic life.
“Adam, I'm gonna kill you. Right after I've finished eating these pancakes—ooh maple-flavoured syrup and berry compote. But after that I'll kill you! And then, I'll find a time machine and kick my own butt, cause damn, am I stupid or what? Nobody answer that!” — Hayley

Rock star, catwalk model, ventriloquist--April Ryder is none of these things. She is, however, a BBW housewife looking to spice up her life with her hardworking and supportive BBM (is that even a thing?) husband. April enjoys living on the beach and plans to further explore her sexy, sensual side writing romance.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for a review.
First of all - damn you April - that's not how I needed it to end. I was hooked by this book from the very first page. I really enjoyed how April developed Hayley and the other characters. Especially Rick, I enjoyed the twist for sure.
I felt bad for Hayley after the discovery she made regarding Rick. Then you had to go and end it the way you did. Damn u!
I would love to read more about Hayley, Rick, Jake and Adam and the wonderful crazy world of roller derby.
This is the second book and I enjoyed it as much as I did the first. Yes, you need to read them in order and yes, you are left not know what will happen next. In this story, Hayley competes in her first Roller Derby and finds the experience to be more violent and blood thirsty than what she thought. But she loves it. I love the way it seems as if we are getting a running commentary of what goes on in Hayley's brain. She is a real character and her internal monologue will have you chuckling.
I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author April Ryder. This is part 2 of the series by the author.
Hayley is enjoying being on the team but the sexual tension between Jake and her plus Rick and her are getting out of hand and she makes a big mistake.
Lighthearted story with sexual undertones and great characters.
