These are exciting and often powerful adventures filled with enough twists and turns to keep you completely entranced. You will find them fascinating as the expectations (for both the good and the bad elements) slowly build culminating in exciting or terrifying climaxes of the many events. In the midst of all the fantastical activity, there are moments of real humor which are sure to bring a smile to your face and moments of heartbreak that may bring tears to your eyes. The emotional meter on these tales is high and the level of passion even higher. There’s plenty of drama and intense action to keep you involved from beginning to end, anticipating what’s coming next, not only within each story but in the series. The Community is such an engrossing tale with such interesting characters that you almost wish it were true. I can’t wait to read more about this amazing world.
I really loved the first two books....lots of world building and well thought out ideas for heroes and villains ..... The third book followed suit in the beginning. There was so much anticipation for me as to what would happen to Pandra and Vidion and Shon...it seemed all the bad guys were evolving but which way?
One night I was reading at the edge of my seat....the battle with the little fairies was about to start, Pandra was discovered as the 5th element and off somewhere, Shon had just returned back after shooting two warriors to save the day, I thought to myself this setup is going to lead to an epic conclusion!
Then I turned the page to discover the next chapter was simply a spoiler alert telling me the outcome of all the characters I'd invested so much time with, without the my having any enjoyment in watching the story unfold.
It was such a letdown. This writer has potential, but in her rush to finish this set with a predictable "good prevails ending" I lost any emotional connection I might have had with the story and the characters. I saw many comparisons with JR Ward in advertising, but I think this author needs more work to get there.
JR Ward is a master at creating multidimensional characters that are believable, and her type of detailed writing allows the characters to go where they need, even if it breaks the readers heart.
Don't waste my time in the last page on a prank with purple goop, when every loose end was wrapped up on the same page.
Anyway...I would have given 3 stars to the first two books as stand alones, but with the third book so poor...2.5 would be my overall rating.
Again, not because the books didn't hold my attention, but because the ending should have been as important to the writer as the beginning.

Great original vamp books! Tracy created an original backstory that was amazing for the Varcolac in her story (that's Tracy for vampire!).
I loved the whole new world aspect that hidden below our normal world here on Earth, the idea that there is a underground world we know nothing about. With all the great paranormal aspects of long hidden secrets and skilled warriors. And the "special quality" of certain people ( I won't spoil it for you!) but it was so original, creative and very well thought out and described.
The couples in each book are great! You will fall in love with each for different reasons and think about them when you aren't reading! I also loved that you didn't just get the main couples story, you get continuations of the previous couples and tidbits from side characters as well.
These books are crammed full of goodness! I can't wait to read the 4th book!!
I just finished rereading all of these books for the third time. I love the world building. The details about the race of people we know as “vampires” are truly creative.
Technically well written with few to no typos.
Dialogue is witty and the characters are charming and lovable. Well, except for the bad guys.
The last book in the set is not my favorite, but it still has some amazing moments. It also has important info for the series.
I recommend this set to anyone who likes vampire, demon and fey stories. Paranormal fans of any sort will like it as well.
Trigger warnings: there is violence against women in these books. Including rape and abduction. It’s important to the story, but might be a no go for some.
Books 1-3: Worthy Read if Looking for a Different World
The Community Series Box Set, written by Tracy Tappan, contains Books 1-3 of this series. Each of these books held me captive from beginning to end. The world building is good, the character development is well done and the main plot for each book and continual series under-plot are interesting. These books have intrigue, mystery, adventure, danger, heartache, multiple blended cultures/species, forgiveness, friendships, family, hope, love and spicy scenes. There are also scenes of violence which could be triggers for some readers such as rape and severe debilitating/disfiguring punishments. I am looking forward to reading the fourth book in this series.
I just bought this set for .99, and it was sooo good. I am hooked. This community is awesome, I feel like I know the.... people;) I think each book gets better. There are flaws.... such as our H finally getting necked with our h in the first book.... he strips down twice:o Some time problems in later books, but no biggie bads. There is so much that happens in each book.... I love it! 4.5 stars I already HAD to read, the newly released, 4th book and I am excited to see a fifth coming out soon, it sounds awesome:)
I won't give anything away but I have to say I really loved the love stories, the fighting and the town! I've never read anything from Tracy before but I will be reading more of her books. I really couldn't put this down and didn't do my usual reading two books at a time. I had to keep reading this till the end!
I absolutely love this series and I am really glad I stumbled on it. I love all the characters and cried lots of tears while reading the books. I cannot wait for the next one in the series.
I want a Varcolac!!!! You are an amazing artist. You're words paint the most vivid pictures and stringent emotions. I feel everything from warm kisses, biting, pain and pleasure.
From the first book to the third it was well written and the plot perfectly explored. Picking a favorite book would be like picking a favorite child . Can't do it love them all.
I absolutely loved all 3 books in this box set... And as a 'gift', the last scene at the end of book 3, is an absolute corker! I couldn't stop laughing. The characters in this series are so well-rounded and really likeable. I can't recommend this series enough.
Great series from an unknown author to me, original storyline, engaging characters, plot twists. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend. Can't wait for the next in the series.
Disjointed storylines, gaps in timelines and a poor attempt at conveying a British accent. Suggestion this collection is on a level with J R Ward has clearly been made by individuals who have never read The Black Dagger Brotherhood!
Tough sexy men that treat women like gold! What is not to like!! The underlying story of good fighting evil gets you caught up in the stories and you have to know if good wins
Read all 3 books in 2 days , very interesting story , all interacting so the characters take on life and become family fighting and supporting each other, of course helped that the men are super hot and sexy
This hooks you right off the bat!! 🦇 Kept me interested and reading deep into the night. Loved the world building and the people, with their different personalities keep you hooked!
I'm so imursive from the first page to the last. Your imagination is right there as if you're a fly on the wall. Great books well written. Am gonna see what other books the author has written. As I thoroughly loved this series.
A very good read. Reminded me just a little bit of BDB. The males bond forever and quickly. Well develop characters - make and female - with good and evil clearly defined.
Not comparable to the Black Dagger Brotherhood but still an excellent, original paranormal series with fabulous characters and world-building!! Highly recommend!!
I thought that was an exceptionally good series. I loved all the characters and their individual struggles to find their bonded halves. I would recommend this series to everyone.
Violent and grusome!! Poor character development. I enjoyed the first 2 books but after reading this one I am done with these series. Very disappointed.
Awesome book and story line, can’t put it down. Great imagination, I can see the characters in my head and their voices. Love it when I can do that with a book.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!Each book in the series is like a 2-for-1 deal; while the story primarily follows the main characters, we get an in-depth glimpse at other characters and get to read their stories within the main story. It's like getting a bonus HEA every time! One of the things I loved about these books is that they are SO not the typical vampire books. Yes, the characters exhibit some of the same vampiric traits as their counterparts in the over-saturated market, but these creatures are truly unique, and I found that to be incredibly refreshing! The imagery is absolutely fantastic. Tracy makes it very easy to actually visualize the underground world she has created, as well as the characters themselves. Each story has twists and turns that I NEVER saw coming, and mysteries that were unraveled at a deliciously slow (but not too slow) rate. And holy smokes, those love scenes! First of all, and this is with each respective couple in the series, Tracy sure knows how to build the tension between them. She not only wrote some HOT HOT HOT encounters, but she did an extraordinary job of showing the LOVE between them. Now I want to go read the series all over again! And I think I might go do just that :)
