In a battle of wills between Dominant and submissive, who’ll be the one to lose control?

For twenty years, I worked on the UK edition of Forum magazine, for most of those years as editor. In that time, I built up the fiction side of the magazine, and was responsible for publishing the first stories by lots of now well-known and established erotic authors – most notably Portia da Costa and Lindsay Gordon, who was until recently Black Lace’s series editor.
However, I love writing even more than I love editing, and I’ve finally taken the plunge to write full-time. I’ve had stories published by Black Lace, Xcite Books, Cleis Press, Circlet Press, Mammoth, Ravenous Romance, Total-e-bound and more, and my collection of three gay erotic novellas, Wild Rides, will be coming out as a print book from Xcite in 2012. And I’m happy in my work…

Lacey is hired to clean James' house. He kind, smart, sexy, and a dominant. Lacey is a self-proclaimed submissive brat-always trying to manipulate things to go her way. After she starts up an affair with James, she craves a spanking. James doesn't want to spank her as he has been taught that hurting someone is losing control and bad things happen when you lose control.
Lacey decides to push all of James' buttons to see how she can make him punish her with a spanking she craves. He's determined to not let her manipulate him, but she's just as determined to see him cave and give her a spanking she so deserves.
This was a quick cat and mouse game that was a fun read! Both are determined to "win". The battle was engaging and so were the characters. This was the first book by Elizabeth Coldwell that I have had the pleasure reading. I will make sure it's not my last!

This is a very short story, which revolves around a sub's desire to be spanked and a Dom's desire to remain in control. He sees the two events as being exclusive and she works very hard to persuade him otherwise ... fun ensues, but who wins? I liked that there is a rather lovely dynamic of normalcy in the pair's relationship, and some great communication.
