About Me I believes the only thing sexier than a man in cowboy boots is two, or three men in cowboy boots. I also believes in love at first sight, soul mates, true love, and happy endings.
I live in the great Northwest region of the USA, with my gorgeous husband and soul mate, two boxer/collie puppies, one old biddy cats, and three fish. When I'm not being a mother to my six teenagers or cleaning up after my two 70 pound lap puppies, you can usually find me cuddled in bed with a book in my hand and a puppy in my lap. Or on my laptop, creating the next sexy man for one of my stories.

Very cute shifter story. Just what I needed to cleanse my reading palate after the last two disturbing reads. Insta-love on steroids for sure but it’s a mate story so I approve.
I really enjoyed this book. One of the main characters is named after me, so that bumped it up a star :) It's a quick read, and you know what you're getting - hot bear shifters. Though the book's marketing doesn't say it's the first in a series, the ending is very open, and sets up a new series of books.
I really enjoyed this book. Definitely not for everyone simply because I know there are SOME annoying people out there that have a fit with effeminate men who cry easily but if you don't mind that and like stories by Stormy then this is another good one to read. :D
4.5 Stars Stormy Glenn had better make this a series or else! I was captivated from the first page. Casey broke my heart with everything he's been through and Rob is so stinking adorable as this giant bear with a soft, squishy heart just for his mate. There was some drama which was done really well, and sex which was done great! Really hoping to see more of these bears!
There was a bit too much crying, giggling, insta-love in this for me to really love it. Things moved too quickly, and then to top it off, it felt unfinished at the end, like there should be more to Rob and Casey's story.
A whirlwind romance between fated mates, a bear shifter ready to start his life after graduation, and an orphaned human who has only ever known abuse are at the center of this story. A few twists and turns keep things interesting and a couple of revelations give the ending an unexpected twist. Not everything is as it seems in this shifter world, and while there are similarities with others I have read, there are enough differences to make me curious to find out more. While this is not a suspenseful grand adventure with lots of action, the focus on two men finding happiness and dealing with personal drama and small-minded enemies definitely kept my attention.
I can see this turning into a series.. after the fact. Rob's brother Harvey and one of his BFFs seemed to have some kind of tension, making me believe something happened..
Onward... I can NOT say I'm terribly shocked on the real background on Casey. And what the alpha played in that part also didn't really shock me. That doesn't mean I wasn't teeted off that the alpha doesn't seem to see what son Raymond is doing. Oh and attacking a 'future alpha'.... Shouldn't the future alpha be able to handle himself and not get wiped on the proverbial floor? Seems to me that hints at a poor alpha in training...
Basically this is riding the fence for me.. not terrible but not over the top. I COULD allow this another go around if it turns into a series and see where it goes.. But, as of now I'm assuming this is a one off.
I haven't read the book, nor am I likely to. Hence, no rating. But this cover? Good grief, that's not okay by me. The kid looks like he's maybe thirteen. There is no way a kid this age should be on the cover of a romance/erotica title.
I'm aware that the author probably didn't have any say in the matter, so my blame entirely goes to the publisher. Siren covers are notoriously terrible but there is a distinction between awkward/ugly/silly and just plain wrong. This is just seven kinds of wrong.
This book was just okay for me. There wasn't anything that made it stand out from any other shifter romance I've read, except the shout out to Rob Colton, whom I also adore.
This was clearly positioned as the beginning of a series, but if the rest follow this one's lead at about $5 a book, I doubt I will continue it.
Although this is listed on Stormy Glenns' website as a single title, it finishes as if there could be more to write about. I certainly hope that there will be more to come!
I've owned this book for a few years. The release of a sequel prompted me to read the first in the series. I really like Bear shifters and this was a glimpse into a shifter culture that was quite harsh. The privileged Alpha's son had the run of the community. Unfortunately for those not in his circle he was a nasty bully. And of course he selected the most vulnerable to pick on - harass & physically assault. This included smaller Bears and the few Humans that resided in their community.
It wasn't right, but no one did anything because the consequences from angering the son of the Bear Alpha were for the lucky ones banishment and for others it was death. Being a small foster child in this environment was hard. Being a Human it was much worse. Unable to defend himself from the superior strength of the Bear shifters, one of the MCs did a lot of hiding, running, trying to blend and be unnoticed. Yet none of that saved him from the wrath of others.
He dreamed of saving up enough money to leave. To find a permanent place to call home. Little did he know his permanent home was a lot closer than he realized. This was a quick, but satisfying read. There was violence, Injustice, but seeing the good guys ultimately win is what I look forward to.
Rob and Casey were a cute mated couple, although, I felt truly bad for everything that Casey had been through. I felt like there should have been punishment for Raymond even though he was the alpha's son. I did love how Rob's family and friends truly supported them in such a big way. There were some surprises and a bit of action. Rob was a sweetheart and I enjoyed his sensitivity. Overall a pretty fantastic read. =)
I more or less always enjoy Stormy’s books but I always feel like there should be more. She sets up great secondary characters and just seems to abandon them which is a shame.
Stormy Glenn geht immer. Schade, dass es keine Reihe ist. Die Geschichte ist echt süß. Vorhersehbar und auch ein bisschen klischeehaft, aber insgesamt sehr echt goldig.

Summary:
Casey's childhood memories were of being sent from one foster care home to another where only one woman cared for him. He lost her when she was injured. Casey learned that he could only depend on himself until the day Rob rescued him when the alpha's son was again abusing him. Rob knew Casey from afar, but when he realized that Casey was his mate his life changed in an instant. It was inspiring how in spite of his past, Casey was willing to trust that Rob would protect him. The fact that Casey, a human, was always placed in bear shifter homes when that was never the case. Casey's knowing about shifters made it easier when Rob told Casey that he was a bear shifter even though it made them wonder what was going on. The trust and love that grew between Rob and Casey proved to be very important as secrets about Casey's past threatened everything the had. This story was filled with unexpected twists that surprised me and their story has just begun!
Casey is a runt, constantly getting beat up and hating life in the small town he’s grown up in as an orphan. His foster parents feed him, but they aren’t what you’d call supportive. He’s doing his best to finish high school and get the hell out of town.
When Rob runs across Casey just after Casey’s been in a fight –again – he realizes Casey is his True Mate. Though bears and humans don’t generally mate, he knows for sure Casey is his forever Mate.
The two have to convince the bully to leave Casey alone and convince the bully’s Sheriff father that they aren’t doing anything to malign the pack. Fortunately Rob’s family is awesome and supportive and together they uncover some secrets about Casey that make everything both easier and more difficult than ever.

This is a fun shifter romance of two mates – one alpha and one “omega”. It’s pretty hot and sweet, just like you’d expect from Stormy Glenn.
This first story to the Bear Essentials story was very good. I loved Rob he was no joke and the protective way he cared for Casey before and after finding out that he was his true mate made me like even more. Alpha Barker really needed to put his foot in his son Raymonds behind instead of looking the other way. Just because he was his heir doesn't give him the right to act like an jackass and bully everyone in their clan it was crazy the stuff he got away with. Loved the supporting characters can't wait to read their stories to find out what's next for this group.
Loved Rob and Casey's story. Fate, destiny brought these to together. The true love, soul mate love they have for each other is amazing. Sweet, caring, protective and oh so sexy!!!!!! Love love loved this story Fantastic
Characters and story started off good but there were instances of inconsistency and awkwardness that took me out of the story. I want to know more of what happens though.
