It is difficult to know where to start with this book. The author takes you on a journey that confronts long held beliefs about the Biblical Creation. If you have not already explored this topic through texts outside of the Hebrew scriptures the content may be shocking and uncomfortable for some. In my opinion, it is time for humanity to develop their own understanding of things without being force fed information through institutions. What I appreciate about the author is his desire to present the material and allow the reader to digest and process it. There is little persuasion. The reader is free to draw their own conclusions. While it may be difficult for those in the Christian Church to read this material, I think it would benefit them to do so. Personally, I do not approach reading a book with a defensive posture. I love to learn and it is not a problem if I realize I have been wrong in my current or prior thinking. I have never had a great opinion of apologetics. Personally, I think it is weak approach to argue. So if you approach this type of material all fired up waiting to prove the author wrong you will miss something important. Try to approach it with an open mind even if it makes you uncomfortable. I read this book in a day as it was engrossing. I did not want to put it down.
