Love is not for the faint-hearted...

Since the age of fifteen, Michael “Knox” Anderson has been avoiding the demons that chase him. Estranged from his brothers and scorned by society, twenty-five-year-old Michael replaces his feelings of abandonment with the dangerous world of illegal underground cage fighting.

Michael meets the mysterious Alexis Richards, a tattoo artist by day and computer hacker by night, whose small, selfless gesture has caught his interest. But he’s unsure if she’s worth pursuing when she has access to his darkest secrets at her fingertips.

Michael musters the courage to give Lexi a chance and to give love a second round. But the information he uncovers about her connection with a secret organization forces him to rethink his dangerous life choices.

Michael doesn’t know if Lexi will be in his corner when it all goes down. But he’s willing to gamble on his feelings for her till the last round. With her help, he must find a way to make amends with his past and bring the final knockout to those demons once and for all.

Scorned by Marie Long
3rd and final book in The Anderson Brothers series. Contemporary romance. Written in present tense from the male perspective in his mid 20’s.
Michael, the oldest brother quits underground fighting and reconciles with his family. While undergoing the transition he meets the love of his life, Lexi.

I liked this book the best out of the three because of the reduced swearing and t&a comments. Still too much of it, but the focus is more on his feelings of misplaced guilt, and wanting to rebuild relationships with his brothers as well as trying to clean up a crime syndicate.
The epilogue wrapped up everything for the three brothers.

Scorned is the last book in the Anderson brothers series and it finished up their story with their older brother Michael. His story intrigued me the most because we learned very little about him throughout the other two books and I was interested in how he would fit in with the family we had come to know. There are a few storylines going on. I very much enjoyed the family dynamics and was rooting for the siblings to work out their differences. Then you have each man's side story and romantic entanglements, which I didn't enjoy as much, but I do appreciate a good happily every after. Michael's book had some extra intrigue that involved him and Lexi solving a crime that added to the overall story.

If you have not met the Anderson Brothers yet all I have to say is you need to. Michael aka Knox was my favorite story yet.

Micheal has been running from his demons for a long time. His brothers want nothing to do with him and he doesn't blame them. As he meets Lexi and finally figures out what to do with his life, he has a long way to go of mending old wounds. It was emotional to follow him as he reunites with his family, forgives himself, and finds love.

Lexi was witty, funny, serious, and strong. I loved the way she "introduced" herself to Michael. She is also battling some demons from her past. Her and Michael have a steamy relationship with its ups and downs.

Ms. Long has always done a great job of writing interesting characters that suck you into the story. What I loved about this book was it has romance and suspense. Illegal underground fighting, computer hacking, fighting, a family hell bent on destruction. I could not stop turning the pages because I needed to see what was next. Ms. Long even threw in some twists and turns that I had me saying What?!?!

I will definitely miss the Anderson brothers.

I received a gift copy in exchange for an honest review.
