Flint, the Death Lords VP, has been watching sexy, buttoned-up attorney Amelia Voll ever since she agreed to defend a club’s member on a murder charge. Watching and waiting until she pokes her head out from underneath her mountain of files and realizes there’s an entire life outside the courtroom...and he's the man to help her discover it. But when Amelia steps out with another man, it’s time for Flint to step in and take her for a Captive Ride.
Happy to have gotten this via KU. Story ended abruptly and without expectation at 38% (or only 756 Kindle places) just when you thought you would be entering into the heart of the story, so was basically just a few chapter short story, not a novella, which was very disappointing because there was so much potential for an interesting story between these two characters but instead, there's no real story, just a few sex scenes. Typos in this one were more noticeable than I have seen in past stories. I normally would happily recommend novellas from this author but this one I just can't, I wish she had waited and delivered to her fans a full, more polished novella, rather than what feels like something started but that she didn't have time to finish but wanted to get out.
3.5 really smutty stars. This was pretty good but it ended really abruptly. I know it's a novella but I wanted more and I think this could have been really good as a full length novel.
Captive Ride was a small deviation from the main story. It was too short, though—it ended before I could actually start to like the characters who didn't appear much in previous installments.
I especially love books of motorcycle clubs, and I knew the Death Lords since "His Wild Desire", an excellent series. Captive Ride is the story of Flint and Amelia. Amy is serious, a lawyer focused on the job and her clients, "too much work and not enough play" in the words of Flint. She built her life like that, but misses have someone to go home to. Flint watched Amy for years, he knows that she belongs to him, he knows that despite the differences she would be perfect for him and he is what is missing in her life. For Flint It's time to make his claim. Amy is his. The story develops quickly, as is characteristic of The Motorcycle Clubs series. It's fun, full of sarcastic jokes and sexy moments. HOT HOT HOT and with some suspenseful moments along the reading! I recommend, you will love this!
I missed out on book 7 so i am assuming that Amelia was featured a lot in that book to get Flint to make his move and claim her. This one is waaay too short and the ending felt like there should be more. I was flipping the pages after that and was....wait....that's it?! Why laaaaaaaaa?!
There are books written for the sake of giving a side character his/her own share of HEA. This is one of it. Seriously...was a bit disappointing if not because i adore the series.
Very short. Mostly sex scenes, but there's a little action. I think I might have to go back and read all of these again (it's been a while since the last one), because I'm not sure where we are as of this book.
There's also a bonus, which is the first book about the preacher's daughter and the two bikers.
I like EG’s books, I’m just not a huge fan of MC books, most of them are Bully romance - a sub-genre that I just learnt about and fills me with horror - this one wasn’t,thank goodness, but for its content it did need to be longer, that kind of relationship needs more time to develop.
Flint has been watching Amelia for four years. He’s been patiently waiting for her to let him know she’s ready for him. When she starts dating again after a long dry patch, he decides it’s time to claim her.

I'm very saddened that I'm having to give one of my favorite authors a one star review... But I feel like this one was so rushed! Where are the developing feelings between these two? Maybe if they had had contact and conversations in the other novellas I might have believed that their relationship could go from semi-acquaintances to I love you within a few minutes. I know in some other reviews I've given low star rating for no character development and I honestly feel like this applies more to this novella than any other I've read so far! All we know about Flint is that he's the VP of the Death Lords...that's it! At least in the other novellas we learned a little bit about the members and their pasts. Same thing with Amelia. We know she's Wrecker's attorney but that it! Oh and don't get me started on the cliffhangers! What's happening with the dirty police force in their small town? Who's this new group who is gunning for Amelia? How does this even fit in with the timeline from His Bold Heart where we are left with Wrecker answering a phone call asking him how much he cares for his attorney???
It was short, HOT, Sexy and fun! Flint in the VP of the Death Lords and has been watching Amelia aka Amy for 4years. She became their lawyer after she help Wrecker. Amy is a workaholic that need a man to take the lead in the bedroom. Flint is perfect for her his demanding but sweet loving at the same time and Amy challenge him on everything but submissive at the same time.😎💋
In that bedroom Scene, first he ties her up with his leather belt, then in another page it was silk rope and then it’s back to the belt? First he blindfolds her but then meets his eyes in the mirror? First he ties her hands behind her back but then she punches in front of her?
Gurl what the eff am i reading? I had to read that chapter so many times to make sure i wasn’t misreading stuff
I was looking forward to this read but unfortunately it did not leaved up to my expectations. Don't get me wrong, the premise of thestory was great and I was hooked from the very beginning. However, it ended abruptly leaving me confusewith too many unanswered questions.
I am now hooked. I have been waiting for a while to read this series. It does not disappoint. I started with this book because it was the only one I could find. But have will be going back and starting at number one!
Good story, but I am disappointed that the unresolved issues from the last book (His Bold Heart) were not resolved in this one either. And this seems to be the end of the series. I loved the series! But I wanted answers.
Good book, but ends super quickly and doesn't 100% wrap everything up. But still a good book, super hot. The steam was detailed and some dirty talk. 4/5.
Aggressive, possessive alpha male and his fiery counterpart. Steamy and hot! Only complaint is that it’s really short. Feels more like a glimpse into a story but a good read.
I am kind of confused, in the last book Amy was kidnapped, and in this book, she isn't. Where is the logic in that? I just really didn't feel this one.
