This book is made up of several stories that take place on snowy nights, all involving animals. This would be a great book to read aloud to little ones, or for early readers/middle graders to read by themselves.

An Arctic fox sneaks out of her den to find food for her mother and little brother. She gets lost in the blizzard and is not sure if she will find her way back home. A statue of a rabbit sits in Grandma's garden. On a magic night it comes alive and plays with her granddaugher in the snow. What happens when a turtle sneaks out of the house using the cat door. Will he find his way back in the house or will he freeze to death out in the snow? When one of Santa's reindeer eats to many carrots and makes himself sick over Africa, how will Santa finish his nightly deliveries? Can a zebra help out? What happens when a mountain goat meets up with a fire breathing dragon?

Cute stories to catch a child's imagination. The illustrations are cute black and white drawings that add just enough to the story, but still leave a lot to the imagination.

I'd have bought this book for the sole reason that the legendary Holly Webb is one of the authors who has created a cute winter tale (with tails involved!). I'm thankful I received it for review, not only are the illustrations adorable, making me go 'awww' every time I saw one, the stories are heartwarming too. They have refreshing plots, courageous characters, and I want to meet everyone in there.

The stories are fun with unexpected twists that although I knew there should be a happy ending, I wasn't always convinced there would be one and had absolutely no clue how it would happen. All the authors created timeless magical stories which I'll be rereading for many years to come – I hope you feel the same way too!

I started reading this book at the end of 2015 and when flicking through my Kindle realised that I still had quite a few of the short stories left to read. I had forgotten how nice they are to read, they have lovely characters and descriptive scenes. A lovely little Christmas read for any fans of animals out there, I would have loved this book when I was much younger.

A beautiful collection of heartwarming nostalgia trips! Just had to read these out to a friend, because to leave them unspoken would have been a crime.
