The title is misleading in that this instalment is not a "Book", and nor is it novella length. I've read a few serials and, at 36 pages, I can confidently say "Moonlight" is a lot shorter than any serials I've come across. I read it in 5-10 minutes so this would have served better as a prequel to the series.
From the author's Goodreads page, it seems they write a short story or a novella and cut up 1-2 chapters into a serial. I've noticed page count drastically varies, too. Personally, I don't agree with this practice but if the writing or story is of good quality then I've been known to change my mind. Unfortunately the writing wasn't good and neither was the story.
If you like serials then have a read through the author's page but to be brutally honest, you can buy better quality serials (and full length novels)for your money.
Crappy apartment. Mediocre job. No desire for partying. Gwen’s life is forever changed with just one run-in with a bad guy...Er, something. This is a quick read but definitely opens the door for numerous stories.
The storyline was good it kept my interest but the core of the story could have been developed more. It has a good frame work with which to continue its evolving action & romance.😇
The story is shorter than I expected. A billionaire who has a deep secret. The concept and idea is really appealing but the description is lacking. The narration is good. The story is engaging but it ended suddenly. Overall, a good attempt!
This is the first book I've read from this author. The book was short, quick, to the point and a good book. I like how this book isn't too wordy. It's to the point and I do like this book. I wasn't sure how to rate the stars. I will go with 3.5 star instead of 4 stars.
Moonlight (Episode 1)was purchased as a free novella (1st installment of a 7 serial series) from Amazon. The story was good, but obviously, not concluded. The author gets a pat on the back for finding a good ending point, which is a huge issue with many installment serials that seem to simply cut-off at the end of the chapter, rather than finishing an existing sub-plot thread. Would I buy more in the series? Nope, not a chance at the 2.99 pricing for less than 50 pages per clump-- especially as there looks to be 7 installments. That's a pretty expensive novel when all the parts are placed together. The writing was good, the story interesting although I wasn't too fond of the characters, but episode pricing is ridiculous, so I'll stop with this single episode.
Gwen leads a boring life. She goes to work and comes home to watch tv and eat ice cream. Her friend and co-worker keeps trying to get her to come out with her one night. Gwen always refuses. So as she is walking home from work one night, she sees a rather large dog rushing past her with two men chasing it. The dog circles back around and rushes towards her and bites her arm. She's wakes up somewhere she doesn't know
I didn't like it for many reasons but the main one was the choice of the main characters to earn her "freedom" by agreeing in bringing her fellow paranormal creatures back to the private prison of Mr. Fox. Including the poor dragon. Potentially it could have been an interesting story but in reality it wasn't (for me, at least.) I am not going to continue the series.

Awesome!!! It has some bad language but the story is... no word to describe it. It was full of action and the damsel in distress actually saved herself. Definitely a good book.
