Teenager Elice Collins has recently lost her father in a tragedy. Her mom, who is battling cancer, sends Elice to Duvet Island for the summer. The teenager soon realizes that someone is following her around the island. What's intended to be a summer of healing and recovery becomes something else.

Penfist was born in 1971 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. He spent his formative years in diverse places including Haiti, Bangladesh, Canada and the United States. Before Penfist became an author, he spent time in mundane jobs including dishwasher, data entry operator, marketing manager, public affairs chief, information technology administrator, IT director and systems architect. Penfist holds a Master of Science in Management of Information Systems with a focus on security. He has served tours of duty in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army, and has spent time in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He is currently working on a graduate degree in English and Creative Writing. Penfist is a deist, an agnostic, a transhumanist and a singulatarian, with anarcho-socialist-libertarian-minarchist tendencies.
