A Sunday Times bestseller, Terrified is the first book from well-loved foster carer Angela Hart. It tells the emotionally devastating but ultimately uplifting true story of Vicky, a little girl who arrives on Angela's doorstep unwanted and unloved after suffering years of emotional abuse at the hands of her mother. Desperate never to return home, Vicky is haunted by many demons and waking nightmares. This book tells the moving story of Angela's determination to set Vicky free.'A no holds barred insight into the reality of looking after someone else's children. A remarkable story from a remarkable woman, it brought back a lot of memories for me.' – Casey Watson, author of A Dark Secret.'A moving story that testifies to the redemptive power of love. I hope Angela Hart inspires many others to foster.' – Torey Hayden, author of Lost Child.
Written by a new author (well new to me?) I thought this was fab. Well written, great story line and kept me reading from start to finish. I liked the author very much and her family. I highly recommend this book and very much look forward to reading more from this author.
People who volunteer to be foster parents are heroes. This story outlines the experience of Angela and Jonathan who welcome a troubled teenager into their home. Little by little her story is revealed and the couple live on tenterhooks many times due to the traumatized young woman. The pacing of the writing is too slow at times including unnecessary dialogue.
Once I started reading this book on kindle I couldn’t put it down! Brilliant book, how anyone can mistreat a child I will never know. Happy that vicky had a happy life after been taken into care.
Very interesting story and a very interesting journey the foster carer and the child went on together. I enjoyed this book but can say no more without spoiling it
Idk man I think Vicky’s social workers could have used some work at times (coming from a social worker) but Im so glad everything ended so wonderfully.
Very touching. I highly enjoyed reading Angela's experience as a foster carer. It's written in a quite simple English what makes the book enjoyable for not native English speakers too.
I feel very meh about this one. It was very slow paced. And I didn't like that there was so much about the carer's fertility but then there was no explanation about how it all turned out. And poor Michelle. The book wasn't even about her and I feel like the reader was told a lot of personal information about her that didn't help the story at all and really seemed to be all hearsay.
Annnnnnnyway, I much prefer Cathy Glass books.

The front cover is alright. Not the best and the most inviting of front covers. I have seen better from this author.
The fostering story in this book is alright, not the most exciting of fostering books I have read and I do think that it lacked in depth at some places. Other than that it's an easy and simple read and if you're interested in this domain then I'd go for it.
I was gripped all ,the way even with all the heartache of such a traumatic young life . I found myself not only shedding tears but also being able to laugh. Highly recommended book
