Happily married to her herb farmer Spence and engrossed in her photography, Cary Bradford longs for two "heart's desires" to make her life complete — a child and a water-powered gristmill for ThymeTable Farm in western North Carolina. With enthusiasm, naiveté, and determination, she sets out to achieve her goals, learning about mills and patience along the way. The Cove community, with their farm at its center, deals with loss, changes in relationships, and a mysterious newcomer to their midst, and together they work for Cary's dream—a mill for ThymeTable Farm.
About the Author:
A native of Western North Carolina, Celia Miles was born in Jackson County and lives in Asheville. She is a recent retiree from the state community college system. She writes in various genres and has published three books of fiction: Mattie's Girl: An Appalachian Childhood; On a Slant: A Collection of Stories; and A Thyme for Love, a romance, to which Thyme-Table Mill is a "sequel of sorts" that incorporates her interest in both photography and old mills. Even in high school, mills must have interested her, as evidenced in this one and only oil from her only art class.
