Marciella Canfield is alone in the world with nothing but the company her father built. She goes through her days surrounded by security and very few reasons to smile. A love life is low on her list of priorities due to repeated disappointments and a schedule that is out of control.
Fahad and Nuri Ghonim approach Marci one night at Trois and memories she'd buried from a trip when she was a young girl explode to the surface. They offer her freedom she has never experienced and passion she cannot conceive without the ridiculous behaviors she's come to expect from men.

A contemporary romance novel by Always the Good Girl, Shayne McClendon.
Shayne McClendon is the author of more than fifty published books and over six hundred short stories (and counting).
She writes heart-pounding romantic fiction as Shayne McClendon, thrilling paranormal romance as Sabrina Rue, and LGBTQ+ action-packed erotica as Charlize Rojos. Recently, she started writing light novels as Honeycomb and is absolutely loving how fun it is!
Shayne spends most of her waking hours writing in one genre or another. Currently living in Tulsa, Oklahoma near her kids (who are all grown up now) and kept company by the best furry companions on the planet, this author takes the hermit lifestyle to a whole different level.
Coffee consumption is too high, amount of sleep is too low, but the words always feel just right.

Anyone who read Hudson is impatiently waiting for Brie's sorry so my reason for 4 stars is due to this story being almost a tease, to appease us fans but not finally give us her story.
Marci's story out with a shocker, I have no idea how this lady they goes on to run a company for months, while 2 men's quietly chase her ...
It was all so very sweet.
The ending felt very left open - I assume more is addressed in books to come.
Loved every single part of this book and of course left me wanting way more. Oh and I'm glad I got to be a part of Hudson's wedding and now I have to find out more about Brie and how she finds her true love.
I never knew a series I consistently gave 5 stars for. Just know that when you pick up a book written by Shayne, you'll be in for a thrilling ride.
Marciella has had her life controlled by someone she can't even call "mother". Stepping out into the light, closing the door to the hateful woman, Marci makes her own set of rules. And meets two men in Trois who make her feel things she didn't think she could.
The Ghonim men are not strangers, but yet, they are. Find out how they accept Marci for her workaholic ways as well as seduce her bit by bit.
The waiting game nearly killed me. The men have such....patience. I remember feeling frustrated like how Marci did. That acceptance of a part of her was why I loved them so much.
Brie makes an appearance in this book like the breath of fresh air she is. And yes, she will finally be the main lead in the next book. She's been such a huge part of the series since Hudson that I am just shaking with anticipation!
Maricella (Marci) is a strong business woman with a lot of success, and a lot of loneliness. She has been running her late father's company after detaching completely from her villain of a mother. She ends up connecting with Fahad and Nuri Ghonim while attending an event at Trois, and comes to realize that she has a very interesting shared past with them. They understand the world of long hours of work and the need for high levels of security in a way that most people don't, and it helps them find the possibility of happiness when none of them thought it possible.
I love this author, and I love this series, but if I don't get Gabriella's story soon I'm going to freak the hell out.
Highly recommend this series, but read the books in order!
Marci grew up with extreme wealth and a horrible excuse for a mother. Now that her father has died, Marci is taking control of the company away from her mother. She does nothing but work, and finally her friends make her take a night out, where she meets Fahad and Nuri Ghorim at Trois. The two quietly pursue her, respecting her need to attend to her business and it turns out there is a forgotten connection to the two men from her childhood. The story is short, but the "courtship" is very drawn out and some very sexy times at the end of the book. There is also an unexpected revelation towards that end that we'll have to see if it's addressed in the last book of the series.
From start to finish Shayne takes you into her world where you fall in love with new characters, become fonder of old friends, and become more entangled into their lives. This had an unfortunate start for Marci, but a necessary evil for her to find her true self and happiness in the end.
This series from Shayne is one of my favorites. This is just another wonderful piece of the puzzle where you get to meet new characters and revisit with the old ones that you loved in the Barter System world. Each book adds more and more to a world where I wish I could visit too!
Come along on this journey of love and discovery of being truly appreciated for the person you are and receiving the love you deserve to have. This author has done it again. This characters are rich in depth and emotional connections. Can't wait to start my next book from Shayne McClendon
I love Shayne's books with every one I read I fall further and further into this wonderful world she has made for us to live in. It's real and it's amazing and I love being able to lose myself to all these amazing people she writes about
I so wanted Gabrielle's story after reading about Hudson. However, this was very good and I enjoyed the glimpse into another interesting mating as well as a glimpse of Hudson and Gabrielle (who's story is next I hope!). Recommend this good read.
As always Shayne did not disappoint. The story was filled with chemistry between the characters and keeping up with some of the characters from previous books. Shayne's writing is well written with plenty of emotions.
