Sarah Morgan doing what she does best: spreading Christmas cheer and joy to my world.

description

This literally was Christmas magic and I really do hope the future sees her returning to her trademark style of easy, fun, romantic writing with characters to adore.

This is the perfect Christmas story to read at Easter. Really.

Heroine is an ER nurse, hero is an ER doctor with two daughters. The story opens when a patient, who claims to be psychic, makes all kinds of predications about the various staff members. Psychic tells heroine she will have four children and will be married soon. Heroine, who has resigned from her job starting in January, is sceptical. She is looking forward to her trip to Australia to visit family and doesn’t have romance on her mind.

The H/h get together when the heroine inadvertently meets his daughters and discovers they are without a nanny until after Christmas. She volunteers to help out the hero. The H/h try to resist each other since the heroine is leaving anyway and the girls don’t need any more big changes.

Romance ensues and the proposal at the end has to be about the sweetest I’ve ever read. Just a feel good story.

There were a few gruesome incidents in the ER that I had to skim over. I’m squeamish that way. This is a medical, so I was braced for them and they didn’t interfere with the feel-good tone of the story.

"The Magic of Christmas" is the story of Christian and Lara.

Aww!!

A super heartwarming holiday romance between an ER nurse and doctor, two adorable kids, a psychic and loads of plain ol' goodness.

I have to commend the author on researching medical cases, because all of the diagnosis and management of the cases hypothesized were pretty accurate- although most of this book felt like a highly stressful medical drama, and rest was interactions between the h/H and the daughters.

The heroine was a positive, caring and just a kind woman who takes on the grumpy hero and his lost kids, and makes everyone fall in love with her.

Overall, a feel good read which is definitely recommended on a gloomy day!

Safe?

I have been on an epic Sarah Morgan category romance bender not too long ago, and The Magic of Christmas has been my favorite of the ones I've read.

The Magic of Christmas is about nurse Lara King, and ER doctor Christian Blake. While moonlighting as an elf for a Santa stop, she discovers that Christian has two daughters. When Lara discovers that Christian is down a nanny again, she can't resist offering to help him out throughout the holidays. Lara will be the fill-in nanny throughout the holiday season, while Christian finds a full-time nanny.

I absolutely loved Lara, who was so adorable and friendly. She was fantastic with Christian's daughters, and she was exactly what they needed. And Christian was pretty great, too. He obviously has some issues, but he works through them with Lara's help.

I should say that The Magic of Christmas isn't really all that realistic. I mean, Christian and Lara fall for each other in the course of a month tops. And how Lara just has this magic touch with the girls is pretty convenient. But, you know what, I didn't really mind. I had such a great time reading this very quick Christmas romance. I definitely need to read more Sarah Morgan. While this book isn't for everyone, if you're looking for a quick, sweet holiday category romance, I highly recommend The Magic of Christmas by Sarah Morgan. This review was originally posted on Quinn's Book Nook

Sarah Morgan is fast moving up on my list of favourite authors. This book had a sweet plot, a LOVELY heroine and a deserving hero. The dialogue was fun and the children in the story were precious. I read this book in a day, which should tell you about how much I enjoyed (and how highly I recommend) it.

This holiday themed contemporary story is about Lara, an ER nurse and her work colleague, Dr Christian Blake. Lara is a bit of a free spirit and she is vivacious, compassionate, helpful and sweet and she unexpectedly sees ER consultant, Christian when he takes his two daughters, Chloe and Abby to see Santa. She then finds out that he is recently divorced and caring for the two girls by himself as well as working a hectic job. When his nanny arrangements fall through, Lara volunteers to help out his family during Christmas. But this leads to all sorts of complications, as both of them are fiercely attracted to each other but his family situation, her travel plans to Australia and their work status all plays a role in making a relationship difficult.
This was a heartwarming story and I loved Chloe's character so much. In a divorce situation, it is so rough for the children. Both main characters were likeable and relatable and this story is the perfect holiday miracle story. A well written tale with a story that weaves into your heart.
I wish the story had an epilogue as it would have finished off this book perfectly. I rate this book 4.5*.

First, the good: the author's grammar and writing skill are high.
Otherwise, I have major issues. First and foremost, this reminds me too strongly of novels by British author Betty Neels, who wrote in the second half of the 20th century. I have not read a Neels book in probably 20 years, nor thought of them in almost that long, but felt like I was back in the middle of one, only modernized.

Secondly, I detest stupidity. In Chapter 3, an 11-month old baby pestered its mother to visit with Father Christmas to the extent that Mom took her even tho she was sick. Really? Eleven months, never having experienced Christmas yet in its short life, and still desperate??

Anyway, these are two examples of why I think this is a mediocre book.

Sarah Morgan delivers a lovely story as usual, with well-drawn characters, even the kids. They were more than plot moppets or clichés. Sometimes a nice piece of brain candy is exactly what you want.

The last of the Christmas books I had borrowed over the festive season.

Christian is a single father of 2 girls who isn't looking for any changes in his future as he doesn't want to add to the upheaval the children have been through. Lara is a happy, helpful woman who is missing her family at Christmas time so offers to move in and be a nanny for Christian over Christmas. Their chemistry is undeniable and sparks soon fly.

A feel good Christmas romance with some humour thrown in. Another enjoyable read by Sarah Morgan.

The Queen of Christmas strikes again

I love romantic Christmas books and this one was no exception. A psychic premonition made at the E.R. soon comes true for more than one person in this beautiful feel good story. A Dr and a nurse are put to the test NOT to fall for each other, even though their chemistry us off the charts, with the added complications of his two daughters. A definite Christmas feel good story.

Copyright 2007, which makes this a very early SM. I got this as a dollar deal on Amazon.

Sm has a way with Christmas romances. I couldn't resist buying this one - it was a deal AND I hadn't read it before.
I liked it. Trope is grumpy/sunshine. The story is good & she must have known an ER Dr to get the medical situations correct.
Christmas is central to the story.

Even though I'm not a fan of the doctoral harlequins I ended up listening to this one. The story flows and everything is a bit too unexpected and the new family dynamics is a bit too similar to some of her other stories as well.

Spoiler alert!

I wonder if the author knows that a book does not have to end with a proposal. That was just ridiculous.

Not my cup of

Have never been a fan of modern English romances and gave up Harlem bins years ago. This was a poor version of both. Almost didn't finish it.
