Yu-Gi-Oh! (3-in-1 Edition), Vol. 7: Includes Vols. 19, 20 & 21

Tenth-grader Yugi always had his head in some game--until he solved the Millennium Puzzle, an Egyptian artifact containing the spirit of a master gambler from the age of the pharoahs! Possessed by the puzzle, Yugi becomes Yu-Gi-Oh, the King of Games, and challenges evildoers to the Shadow Games...weird games with high stakes and high risks!

Yugi fights Pandora, a duelist who uses one of Yugi’s own favorite cards, the Dark Magician! But can Yugi duel while chained to the path of a roaring buzz saw? Next, using one of his brainwashed pawns to fight for him, the mysterious Marik traps Yugi in a deadly cage match against one of the most powerful cards in the world. And more duels rage as fish monsters, sea serpents and dark beasts are unleashed from their decks!

Got too hyped from the previous omnibus, plus a remake of Tag Force 3 was announced, so I think I'm gonna continue with this manga rather than finish the ones I'm close to completing lol

Takahashi's paneling has been amazing lately!

Page 325 is the first example of one of Marik's classic fucked-up faces.

Volume 19: Pandora sets a stage with saw blades that will kill the loser of the Duel. Yugi gets his Dark Magician out first. Pandora resurrects his own Dark Magician, beginning a stalemate battle of Spells and Traps. Somehow, Yugi's DM defends him from Ectoplasmer, like some Duelist Kingdom zaniness. Yugi uses Dark Magician Girl, who is powered by the defeated Dark Magician of both men. Yugi wins, but saves Pandora from the saws. Marik takes over to infodump about God Cards, Millennium Items, and the King's memories, then warns of Osiris. Insector Haga hires a kid to steal Jonouchi's Duel Disk to slip two Parasite Paracide in his Deck. Honda and Ryuji visit Jonouchi's sister, Shizuka. Jonouchi draws Parasite Paracide, turning his Monsters into Insect-Type. Haga gets out Insect Barrier, preventing Jonouchi from attacking with infected Monsters, and his new ace, Insect Queen, who gets stronger for each Insect on the board. Jonouchi makes clever use of mindgames, Spells, and Traps to win the Duel, especially with Gearfried being immune to Parasite. Volume end.

Volume 20: Kaiba Corp uses satellites to scan Deck data and try and locate the missing Gods. Marik arrives in Domino and takes control of the mime to Duel Yugi. Marik stalls with Revival Jam, Jam Breeding Machine, and Nightmare Steel Cage. Marik summons Osiris, who gets 1000 ATK and DEF per card in hand, which can be limitless using Infinite Cards. Jam Defender and Card of Safe Return allow Revival Jam to block attacks aimed at Osiris, and Marik draws three cards every time Jam comes back. Kaiba shows up to give Dark Yugi a pep talk. Yugi uses Brain Control on Revival Jam to force Osiris to constantly attack it, causing Marik to deck out. Yugi wins Osiris. Yugi and Kaiba off-screen a pair of Ghouls while Jonouchi begins to Duel Ryota Kajiki. Jonouchi forgot to remove Parasite Paracide from his Deck. Dark Bakura ambushes Marik. Volume end.

Volume 21: Jonouchi's Duel with Ryota is filled with more Duelist Kingdom tabletop RPG bullshit. First, Parasite Paracide ceases to matter immediately after Giltia died last volume, and no subsequent Monsters are infected. Second, Ryota's strategy still relies on using Umi to make all his cards invisible to Jonouchi, including Legendary Fisherman, whom he somehow summoned such that it spawned in the nearby orca tank so the hologram of Fisherman's own orca can hide alongside the real mammal. Jonouchi figures it out and turns the tide with Panther Warrior and Kunai With Chain. Meanwhile, Dark Bakura offers to lend Base Bakura to Marik for a scheme. Ryota somehow commands Fortress Whale to spin in place and knock Panther Warrior away, but Jonouchi somehow commands PW to plant his sword into FW to act as a rod for Lightning Blade (this is all just fanciful artistic license to say "Panther Warrior has 3300 ATK because of both Equip Spells so he wins the Battle Phase"... But also Ryota takes extra Damage because of elemental rock-paper-scissors...???). Jonouchi wins, collecting six total Puzzle Cards. Marik masquerades as a good guy named Namu to "help" the injured (Base) Bakura and worm his way into Yugi's friend group. The Mask of Light and Mask of Darkness force Yugi and Kaiba into a two-on-two Duel. These Ghouls have complementary Decks built to gang up on their foes, forcing Yugi and Kaiba to use teamwork. Yugi helps Kaiba Special Summon Blue-Eyes and keep it alive while causing a rift between the Ghouls. Volume end.

Not a good ratio of duels to plot in this one. I realize Yu-Gi-Oh! revolves around the game of duel monsters, but I’m not a fan of when 90% of the story is just dueling. I want the plot to be advanced and this collection did very little of that.

This arc keeps proving to be one of the best ones, so entertaining. From really intense and well thought out duels to new character introductions and development. All around a fun time.
Although, the whole dark magician becoming self-aware was kinda of a stretch honestly. The introduction of dark magician girl was awesome, so cute, an icon.
They are also really stretching the whole Joey's storyline being based around his sister giving him purpose. I guess it could be worse. First to help her pay for her surgery and now to give her the courage to see. Guess he needs a purpose to participate in these events. However, Joey as a duelist has grown so much compared to the beginning of the series, he no longer wins based on luck but skill. Talented.
That mime dude was super creepy, what in the world.
The god cards are honestly such a great addition to the card game, it makes everything high stake. Also based on the people who currently hold on to the cards by the end of the volume it makes the anticipation for the upcoming explosive duel bigger. Malik has also been making a really good villain, he's pretty cool.
Lastly, Bakuya is a rat and Kaiba can get annoying. On to the next.
