In this saucy, sexy, laugh-out-loud romp, a lingerie shop owner and single mom falls for the hunky cop who just happens to holster his own perfectly sized weapon.Bryn, co-owner of Classy ‘n’ Sassy Lingerie shop with her best friend Mia, is ready to get back out in the dating world after losing her husband to the war overseas. Diving into bad first dates, online set-ups, and guys who just can’t get the message, Bryn can’t stop thinking about Eli, the sexy neighborhood cop who’s also a great dad. But between Bryn’s dead husband and Eli’s messy divorce, will these two have what it takes to overcome their baggage and fan the flames between them?

I suck at picking out smexy times books. I admit it. I always give it a good go but it seems like if there is a bad one out there my ass will find it.
Bryn is a co-owner in a lingerie/sex toy shop. Her husband Johnny had been killed a couple of years previously and left Bryn with three small children. Bryn is one horny chick. That's all she is thinking with for the most part of the beginning of the book.
She is about to do the deed with hot cop Eli, when he tells her he has a small wanker. That puts a coolant on Bryn's desires, she wants a confident manly man.. (I know I'm going to hell for that gif-but this stupid book deserves it) Bryn decides to start dating other men. She needs some really badly. *insert gag here* Her mom is her regular babysitter and they have an argument about Bryn's dating. So she needs a new sitter. She picks the neighborhood teenager... "You think you'll be okay watching three kids?" "Sure. I baby-sit the Fleischman's dogs all the time." Bryn winced. Not a very good comparison. "Do you want to do a trial run?" She then leaves the kids with her to go out for drinks with her friends.
During her dating adventures, Bryn decides to try out some internet dating. She meets a hot guy. She wants to do him. So she automatically tells him the name of her shop during their first conversations. Then he starts to creep her out. But she has no worries.
Now during all the dating tryouts she keeps seeing Eli too. Small wanker or not, she feels that pull with him.
Then this is one thing that had me wondering about reading any more of this type of book.
Her ten year old son has been going through a period of umm noticing his own body parts. Now I do know this in normal. I have some boy children. HOWEVER, Bryn's son gets caught in the school closet with a young girl and the young girl is missing some clothing, this is after the school had already called once after catching him touching himself at school..in public. "We have a zero tolerance for sexual abuse in our school district." "Sexual abuse? Are you freaking kidding me right now? He's just a curious ten-year-old. He didn't do anything." "Please calm down, Mrs. Harper. It's school policy to inform both families of the incident. But the parents might not act on it." This was a disaster. "Fine," she muttered, and hung up.
Did she go to the school to pick up her child early? NOOOOOOOOOOO! She has Eli give him a talk. Good luck with this kid.
Finally poor Bryn finally gets some sex. Oh, poor Eli does have a smaller than normal weiney as we finally find out. But that is fine with our girl Bryn!!
The second part of the book Bryn's libido starts to calm down some because she just wants that happily ever after!
Please, for the love of small puppy dogs. I hope the brains cells I lost while reading this book regenerate.

Size Matters by Stephanie Haefner was a quick and easy read. The story was a cute romantic comedy. If you like humor and realistic embarrassing moments of dating and getting to know another person, then this book might be for you. This book chronicles the life of Bryn, a widower and the neighborhood cop, Eli as they navigate their feelings, attractions, and the haphazard of dating and sex.
For the first half of the book, I found myself enjoying the book on the many quirks and embarrassing moments Eli and Bryn had to endure from Eli's insecurities on his size. But as the story progressed on I found myself wishing for Bryn to make up of her mind. I understood Bryn's hesitation since she was a recent widow but given the fact that she wanted something more with Eli, I found her at times to be wishy washy. And as for Eli, he just needed a confidence boost since his ex-wife was real b*tch who teared him down. But once Eli and Bryn finally was able to get over the hurdles and drama that stood in the way, they made a great couple who got their second chance at love.
If you enjoy a romance story filled with humor, sass, embarrassing moments, and steamy moments, Size Matters might be the book for you. I would have rated this book a 4 but towards the second half, I found certain parts towards the end of the story to be unnecessary and had such an abrupt quick ending for HEA. Overall, I did enjoy the book but I wished the author focused more on Bryn and Eli instead of the unnecessary drama.

Eli and Bryn's kids say the darnest things but it was Eli's sun who had me laughing out loud: "Mom says Bryn’s store is a dirty porn shop,” Austin said. The comment startled Eli and he jerked the steering wheel, righting the car immediately. “What?" Eli gets offended easily and his temper flares and it's entertaining, "what stuff? Me eating you out? You didn’t like it? ’Cause it sure as hell sounded like you did." Eli may be a wild animal in the sack but once the deed is done the boy goes all proper, "well, for one thing, we’re in your office . . . naked. And I kinda have to get back to work." I enjoyed this book I liked it wanton love with it but enjoyed it.
My Review: This is one of those books. I honestly tried to DNF it several times because I simply did not like the heroine. A lot of the time she's shallow, a bit bi-polar, and sometimes a truly awful person. But the story was one of those that sucked me in. I'd put it down and then would pick it back up again.
The writing wasn't bad...again, my issues were with a single character. Bryn is conflicted. It's been 2 years since her husband died. She's lonely and wants to find love again. She thought Eli was the solution because they mesh together really well, but then a series of false-starts makes her double think that and she decides it's time for her to really start dating. Overall, I could understand that and her thinking, but it hit a point there where her wishy-washy actions just got to be too much...and then I just felt bad for all the guys she's stringing along...and her parents who get mixed up in all the craziness too. At times, she's just too over the top with her reactions.
But I loved Eli's character. Seriously, talk about a hero you can fall in love with, especially with the fact that he really wanted to be with Bryn. He's a stand-up guy and willing to do what it takes to make a relationship work. Add in the fact that he's a protective, alpha cop and I really did love him.
I also liked the set up of the sex toy shop, although the thing with the dildo models (I'm guessing this was a previous story line in another book) was a little bit creepy. Seriously, how would they have even gone about doing that whole process? It just seems wrong...and the fact that the kids were coming in and out of the shop was so, so, so much more wrong. But I did like the whole set up of the lingerie show and party at the club, especially that they were aiming the party at women and gay men.
So, this one was a hit or miss for me. I didn't like the heroine. I loved the hero. The overall storyline was good, but a few things about the execution bothered me. I think that others could like it more than I did. My issue was with a single character and just like with real life, not every person gets along with every other person, so it's very likely that you won't have the same issues with Bryn.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review by Net Galley.
This is the second story in this series and you are certainly in for a treat when you read them. In the first story we learned all about the Classy 'n' Sassy Lingerie shop and the two girls that run it.
This is Bryn's story. She is a single mother of three young children having lost her husband almost two years ago. It is time for her to step back out in the dating world, she is getting horny and the plastic toys just aren't doing it for her anymore. There are a couple of prospects. Eli is one of them. He is a fellow single parent with two children. They would be perfect together, their kids are even friends. But Bryn is just not sure. She wants a little bit more of a spark than she is feeling with Eli.
So she tries a blind date and then gets an account on an on-line dating service. Oh my goodness there are lots of laughs here. The dates have their good points and of course their bad points. The reader will laugh with her and cry with her as she struggles through and tries to find out what and who she needs.
The lingerie shop and her co-workers also provide lots of entertainment as they deal with their lives and get ready for the raunchy fashion show.
The characters of Bryn's mom and dad certainly add an extra depth to the story as they struggle to deal with their widowed daughter trying to enter the dating field again.
I really enjoyed this story and the first one in the series. I feel that the author does a great job of bringing all her characters to life and I felt I was always right there in the room with them. I was eager to turn the page to find out where the story line was going. I would rate this story a 5/5.
An independent, widowed woman with kids falls in love with a sexy divorced cop with kids of his own. A whirlwind of romance that you couldn't resist flipping the page because of the anticipation of them getting together. It had me from the very first night they were supposed to do it. Bryn and Eli obviously deserve each other. After all they've been through and at the end of the day all they need is someone to lean on More
I was so looking forward to reading this book, a fun, saucy contemporary was just what I was looking for. Actually, sadly, I found it a little disappointing. Mostly I didn’t find it particularly funny. Yeah, I suppose there is some humour to be found in the awkward opening fumbles between Brynn and Eli, but mostly I cringed in sympathy then spent the rest of the book annoyed with Brynn.
Seriously, what is Brynn’s problem? For an independent business woman and an awesome mom of three, her reaction to Eli’s insecurities was depressingly conventional. The man must be strong and confident at all times so that she – the wilting feminine flower – can lean on him as necessary. After Eli was hugely supportive of her calling things off twice, she dumps him when he does it once because she doesn’t have time to deal with his issues. Also, considering how bitchy she is to Eli (the nicest guy in the history of nice guys), she’s pathetically indecisive and feeble when it comes to dealing with the other men in her life. Surely, if she can kick the Eli-puppy when he’s clearly down, she can get rid of a couple of sex-obsessed douche bags?
Then again, it’s kind of hard to know just what Brynn is looking for throughout this book. She wants sex – she has her chance with three guys, she talks about it enough, then says that isn’t what she wants. Okay. So she tells her mother she wants a family again, someone to help her with her kids, yet when Eli hints at forever she runs a mile because she isn’t ready. Except that’s what she tells everyone she wants!
These things really annoyed me because there was so much about Brynn I wanted to like. She’s a great mom, her business is brilliant and I had so much raging sympathy for her when her own mother kept lecturing her, but because of the way she treats Eli and her general indecisiveness I just couldn’t like her. If these things were caused by memories of her husband, fine, but they’re not. In fact after the first chapter or so, her husband barely gets a look in. Brynn’s irritating qualities are just Brynn, and her inability to even talk to Eli about his insecurities without being nasty pushed her firmly out of any likeable category for me.
Because Eli is adorable. He’s a great dad, he’s sexy, his ex is evil and he’s so sweet in the way that he supports Brynn – which she clearly doesn’t deserve. Yeah, okay, he does go a little over-the-top alpha towards the end, but he has his reasons and if he and Brynn had been able to talk it out maybe she would have paid more attention. If they’d talked about his issues earlier then there wouldn’t even have been a book, because he’s clearly perfect for Brynn. Even she knows that. He and their collective children were the saving graces for me. They’re all great, with plenty of their own flaws, but they’re forgiveable ones and just made them better characters. I wish Brynn had either seen it sooner, or her physical relationship with Eli had started much later on in the book.
Overall, this one just didn’t quite deliver on its promise. It did leave me curious about the rest of the series, though. Especially where co-worker Penny is concerned.
(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)
When a book grabs you from the first memorable line. You know you are going to end up loving the book and that is exactly what happened when I read Size Matters. Trust me read it and see.
I was beyond excited to get my hands on this book and I was definitely not disappointed. To be honest, I have read it twice and loved it both times. Stephanie Haefner has proven again why she’s a favourite new author.
If you read the hilarious Try Me On for Size you will be familiar with the heroine Brynn in this book. If not DO SO NOW!!!! Size Matters is a story of two people, widower Brynn and divorcee Eli trying to navigate the tricky waters of dating again. Plus dating again with kids. It’s difficult enough putting yourself back out there let alone with built in baggage. Their story is fun, flirty, sexy, heart-warming, cringe worthy and grin inducing all at once.
Poor Brynn, mother of three needs a good man delivered orgasm. Is that really too much to ask for? Apparently the universe thinks so. She’s ready to start to date again, has found a really nice guy in Eli but every time they get close to sealing the deal something happens.
Officer Eli, has it bad for Brynn. But can’t seem to stop putting his foot in his mouth. Then he does the unthinkable and admits to being below the average below the belt. While in bed…. With Brynn. Can you say awkward????
Their story doesn’t end there. Come on, it’s a romance novel! It just becomes more complicated and funny. They say the path to true love never runs smoothly. That applies here times ten.
Add in some family drama coming from both sides, a fashion show for Brynn’s shop, a creep or three and some tween angst and you get a laugh out loud, cringe at times fun read that will have you hooked from the first page to the very last where you end it with a “OH YES!”
This is the second outing for the babes at Sassy N Classy and keep an eye out for a third with Penny’s book. While it can be read as a stand-alone do not deprive yourself of Try Me on For Size. I can’t get enough of this authors writing. Curl up and read this in one sitting you will not be sorry you did.
First I would like to thank NetGalley, Pocket Starr and Stephanie Haefner for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Stephanie Haefner is a local author from my hometown of Buffalo, NY. I have been a fan of her writing since A Bitch Named Karma. When I saw Size Matters on NetGalley I just knew I had to read it. I was so glad that I did.
This book takes off where the Try Me on for Size left off. As a reader not having read that book it can be read as a stand alone. However, I suggest reading the first book to get a better feel for the characters.
Bryn was a favorite character of mine. I loved how she distressed by curling up with a hot romance book and a glass of wine. The romance in her books was the most she was getting lately. She had an itch that needed to be scratched from a male companion. Her husband Johnny left her a widow 2 years ago. She was raising her three kids alone with the help from her Mother. However, she was not very supportive of Bryn wanting to find a mate. Her Mom worried about exposing her Grandkids to these gentlemen if they were not going to stay around long term. I could understand how her Mom felt to a point. However, It had been 2 years and she was ready to move on with her life.
Eli drove me absolutely nuts with his insecurities. Men, do not stop a woman in the middle of having foreplay to mention he is not well endowed. That just ruins the mood and turns us off all together. Plus, that boy needed some lessons big time going downtown (if you know what I mean).
Loved reading all the creepy responses Bryn got from her online dating profile. I personally have gone that route and know from first hand experience how bad online dating can be. However, it cracks me up reading about someone else’s bad experience. Makes you wonder where the decent and normal guys are.
My heart totally went out to Penny. She wanted nothing more to be a Mom and have a family. Unfortunately she and her husband were having a very hard time conceiving. It was very stressful both of them.
I really enjoyed this book on many different levels.
This is a book filled with awkwardness. Bryn and Eli have many awkward moments together--some really, really awkward moments--and for much of the book, I thought Eli too passive of a character and Bryn too self-involved and aggressive. Neither were bad characters, but neither were they great characters, and yet, I found myself unable to stop reading about them. I wanted to know what happened between them, which made this a very strange but admittedly likable read for me.
Bryn starts out the book unable to stop thinking of her deceased husband, so much so it interferes with what she has going on with Eli. Then when Eli makes things awkward for them, Bryn backs off and decides they are better off as friends. Yet, even as she dates these other men, she can't stop thinking about Eli, but neither can she allow herself to be with Eli. That is, until Eli steps up and makes it clear just how much he does want Bryn. After that, I was all about Eli. He more than proved he was a good man, with a good heart, and that he's exactly the kind of guy Bryn and her kids need.
As I said, this was a strange read for me. I only meant to read a couple of chapters before bed, but somehow, I wound up staying up past my bedtime to finish the story. I just could not stop reading, no matter how much I tried. So, all in all, this book was a good read, with good characters, and a good storyline.
If you love a book that makes you laugh then this is a fun one to pick up. Full of the crazy life and times of a single mom who runs a business and is sex deprived after her husband died 2 yrs prior. This is a part of a series and features Bryn.
I did not read the first book and really did not know there was one as this is a great stand alone. It is a lighthearted read and I enjoyed most of the storyline. The beginning and the end are great but there are some parts of the middle where Bryn becomes a bit too desperate and comes off almost trampy as she could not decided who she wanted to date. Even her GF questions her actions at one point. Plus she was really judgmental in one important part that screwed with her mind... No Spoilers! However she rights herself after some embarrassing moments and listens to her heart finally and the last 1/4 of the book was perfect. I loved Eli! He is a sweetheart and you will fall for him too!
While this had some hot scenes, overall it is a fun romance that will keep you entertained. Crazy online dating with some creepy guys, stalkers and some alpha male action too. I really would have like to see more interaction with Eli and Bryn but the HEA was nice.
This was a quick and easy read. The story was cute. Bryn is a single mother, she lost her husband a few years prior and is ready to get back out there. Eli is a single father, he and his wife divorced years prior. Both Bryn and Eli have issues they are trying to move past. This story is about them over coming their insecurities and trying to move forward.
I was not expecting some of the little twists that came up with Joel and Troy, even the one with Penny. Although I wouldn't mind reading a book about Penny and what will change in her life now.
This book was somewhat frustrating, and very hard for me to get into. I tried to encourage myself to push through to the end, but I just couldn't do it. Unfortunately, I had to give it a DNF rating.
Rating: 1/5 Recommend: No Audience: Adult Status: R Chemistry/Intensity: +/- Conflict/Drama: Yes Other: DNF
Size matters was a fun summer read. Between the kids and all the dating follies Eli and Bryn are trying hard to make their relationship work. I liked the beginning and the end of the book but found the middle a bit much. The push and pull between the characters was getting daunting.
Despite all their issues the pair was able to work together to find their HEA.
It started out cute then fell a little flat with all the people she was trying to date and looking for the perfect sex when that guy was there all a long. Instead of that part the author should have made them grow as a couple and learn about it and work through their issues.
This was a fun book to read. It was a change from my normal genre. It actually made me sad for him that his ex-wife had emasculated him that way, but it just goes to show, we all carry baggage, whether we want to or not.
