DINDI has defeated her enemies, the Bone Whistler and Lady Death—for now. But they are only in retreat, not destroyed. She knows they will regain their strength all too soon. And they will be looking for her. She won’t be strong enough to face them again until she claims her right as Vaedi. Until then, she must continue to hide her true identity. Dindi has a new ally in the White Lady, but also a new unexpected enemy, who doesn’t believe that Dindi is the true Vaedi, and has vowed to unmask her. But the biggest danger to her is falling in love again with the man who has broken her heart before…Kavio.

KAVIO remembers nothing of who he is or how he lost his memories. He accompanies Dindi to the heart of Faearth, the Rainbow Labyrinth tribehold, where all the most powerful dancers in the land are gathering to compete. The man and woman with the strongest magic will become the new War Chief and Vaedi—the leaders of the tribe—and also husband and wife. Kavio vows to be Dindi’s partner in the contest, even though he knows she cares nothing for him personally. He’s not even sure he can trust her. Unfortunately, he is falling in love with her….

Tara Maya has lived in Africa, Europe and Asia. She's pounded sorghum with mortar and pestle in a little clay village where the jungle meets the desert, meditated in a Buddhist monastery in the Himalayas and sailed the Volga river to a secret city that was once the heart of the Soviet space program. This first-hand experience, as well as research into the strange and piquant histories of lost civilizations, inspires her writing. Her terrible housekeeping, however, is entirely the fault of pixies.

The entire series has been from dozens of different perspectives and it takes a genius to be able to do that. This is the first book of this series that I felt like Kavio and Dindi's story was getting shorted because of the multiple perspectives. But I understand this book was a bit of a struggle to get out and I'm glad she had the dedication to go back and do it as best as it could be done. It feels like they keep putting off the extremely important Vaedi Vooma to make room for some details I wasn't very interested in. I found myself glancing quickly though several points of view just to see if there's something important so I can get back to the good stuff and then being disappointed because there's not enough of the good stuff. It's probably really good stuff that I'm skimming over just because I want to get to the awesome stuff. I am already anticipating the next book, though!

This series just gets better and better and I can't wait to see what will happen next!!!

The story of The Mask just drew me in from the beginning. It had been awhile since I had read book 6 and wasn't sure if I would remember or get lost in the storyline and characters which is quite complex but like an old friend I fell right into the book without any problems. The catchup was seamlessly woven into the story without being repetitive and the story flowed. I again fell in love with Dinde and Kavio/ Umbrial. The supporting characters are so well written and just come alive on the pages. The scenes are vivid and I can easily visualize them. I can see the passion and the hurt and pride, betrayal, torn and conflicted loyalties. I recommend this series for teens and up. If you love a good book to curl up with than you have found 7 and more on the way.

I have read all the earlier books in this series. This book was great it followed along with the storyline. We ran into almost all of the previous characters. The twists and turns kept me wanting to read more I can't wait till the next book comes out.. The mask is so magical and so violent it kept me guessing the whole way through. Just when I thought it would go one way. It would take a totally different direction. I can't wait to see what's next for Kavio and Dindi. Plus Kemla the terrible vane bully. Mask is a great read. Romantic adventurous sexy and totally gory at times. Take some time and escape to the magical and dangerous world of faearth, it'll be worth it.

The Unfinished Song continues it's saga without losing any steam. Dindi continues to struggle as the underdog, trying to save the Aelfae while also being persecuted by almost everyone she meets. She has allies but can she truly trust any of them? As she dons masks to fool those around her without revealing her intentions, Dindi will be pushed to the limit. Everyone in this universe has a secret agenda, even those closest to her who vow to protect and support her.
The author continues to write a gripping series; my only qualm is that it's just so long to wait between installments. I do appreciate that the author writes recaps into her books; those are absolutely crucial with long waits.

I devoured the book in three days! Well, two really, but it felt like longer (which for me is great!)... I cried and laughed. It always happens when I read Dindi's story. The Unfinished Series is amazing! Tara Maya never ceases to impress with her picturesque, detailed descriptions. She transports me to a different world every time I read her books... and no matter how many times I read them! Loved it!

As usual Tara writes a very interesting tale that keeps you coming back, Dindi and Kavio's story is an elaborate one that seems to have fated twists. As another reader has said, it seems Tara is putting off the all important Vaedi Vooma as long as possible. I personally think she's stretching the story out as I've forgotten most of the first 4 books in the series already...let's wait to see when and what Book 8 holds.

I have to read the others This was a good book as well. I am going to have to get her other books and read up. You can tell the author took her time developing this story with care. just from this book alone, just great. Dindi makes a great heroine.

I received an ARC version of this book in exchange for an honest review.

They just keep me on the edge of my seat!

Somewhat factual but full of magic and awe. This is an amazing story and I cannot wait to read the rest of Tara's books.
