Kris's wanted Caleb since the moment he first met him, wanted to be dominated by his massive bulk and his jet black eyes. But Caleb's been keeping too many secrets to stick around the small mining town for long and he's gotten too close to Kris for his own safety. Kris has one night, one chance, to get Caleb to stay, but will telling him he loves him be enough to get him to stay or is Kris just in for one night of rough fun and a lifetime of heartbreak?
The story just started with no build up and no back story. And when an author uses "DARK" the story should be dark. Has a lot of potential but needs work.
2.5 stars I enjoyed this short story more than I have others over read by the same author. It's very short but hot and I was slightly disappointed when it ended so abruptly as I wanted to know more.
It needs some serious editing though. Spelling and grammar errors are abundant throughout, including my personal favourite, the animal deer being spelt dear....twice.
Wow! This book definitely started with massive gusto. It was hot, erotic, and highly passionate. Caleb was a wolf shifter who somehow just wanted to leave, however, all his lover wanted from him was to hear that Caleb loved him. I was getting frustrated with Caleb because it was taking him forever to tell him what he felt. I do wish that this was longer since I found it rather entertaining with it's intensity. I don't really know the whole story, but this part was great, except the end. That poor guy, I could almost feel his emptiness throughout the story, which is naturally because it was written so well. I'd really like to shake Caleb, and then read more. :)
Very much as advertised, rough and dark. It's so short, just the sex scene, that you really have to read the blurb to be fully aware of what's going on. It's extremely hot and poignantly emotional. The shifter aspect is there but it could have been left out completely and not made much of an impact on the story. I wanted more when I finished but this was really just a sexy and poignant vignette. A good sample of Hoppa's writing style without the menage, BDSM slant of some of his works.
Although this is a very short story, I found it interesting but I felt there was something missing. Personally I feel this book would have great potential if it had more details in and/or was written as a novelette. The story covers Caleb a wolf shifter that is leaving and Kris who has his eyes on him. What you will find in this story is drama, a bit of intrigue, lust, emotional feelings and a erotic scene. This story does not end with a HEA
This book starts off mid story, why I'm not sure. There is no real plot and the characters have no definition. What there is is a hot steamed scene. If that's all you want out of a book the have at it.
Kris has wanted Caleb since he laid eyes on him. Now that Caleb is about to move on, he has to tell him how he feels about him. So the night that Caleb is about to leave Kris meets him in the woods and tell him the truth and want to know if he feels the same way about him. But will Caleb open up to him or will he leave?
This was a very quick read. The book was okay. I really didn't like the way it ended. I have a few more books by this author to read to see if I will pick up any more books by this author. I kind of recommend this book to others if you are into m/m werewolf stories.
This was either free or really cheap on Amazon a while ago and sat in my TBR list for ages. I wasn't expecting anything other than sex considering how short this is but it didn't work for me at all. I was actually more interested in the backstory than the sex which is why I gave it 2 stars. There were also lots of spelling errors and the animal deer was spelled, dear. Twice. I think when you are only dealing with 14 pages someone should pick that up before its published.
