Still Reading so this review is going to be a work in progress:
A Damned Deed - Michele Bardsley - 3 Stars Don't have much to say about this one. It wasn't bad just not great. It was an okay read and part of a book that I am reading. I liked Athena just wasn't something I would have read had it not been part of the book. 4 absolutely intriguing stars. For the most part every book in this series was at least 3 or 4 stars. Met and fell in love with some new authors and thought that this Big book was definitely worth the time it took to read it!
The BBW and the Beast - Sylvia Frost - 4 stars A Hell of a Modern Day Beauty and the Beast -- Well I guess that is what you would call it. I actually loved Bel and the story I thought that it was cute and I also thought Samson was a good beast. I did think it was a little beauty and the beast. And the title. Laughing hard.
Forbidden - Elle Thorne - 4 stars Okay give me a white tiger anyday. Really cute and a darn good book. I feel like I have read another book with a similar subject but for the life of me I have no idea what it was. I will probably go back and read the next books in this series because it was well worth it.
The Witch Who Cried Wolf - Sarah Mäkelä - 4 Stars Okay I love a good shifter story and I love a good book about a "semi-Forbidden" romance. I actually loved the characters and the book and will definitely be reading the rest of the books in this series. Great read and I really think that the author has a knack for telling a story! Good Read and glad to have this as a part of this bigger book!
Ardent - Alexia Purdy - 2 Stars Wasn't much to this read. It actually lasted longer than it needed to because it was redundant and really did not hold my attention. I did like the concept just not the book.
Black in White - J.C. Andrijeski - 4 Stars Another book within a book and another pretty damn good read. Quentin Black is my damn hero and I loved him. THe only problem I had was a I trust him but I don't type of read. You either do or you don't dammit! Neat story!.
Taken by the Beast - Rebecca Hamilton - 5 Stars. Hell Yeah! Best book in this big book so far. I absolutely loved Charisse and thought that she was a hell of a woman. I didn't like the whole I am going to pretend to like this one because he is the good guy kind of thing but I think she handled everything well. Great Read and I will be purchasing the rest of the series as soon as I finish this big book. Super Impressed with this series.
Witch Hunter - Steffanie Holmes - 4 Stars Who hunts witches? When the man who does is hot and gives you immediate sex! Maybe with a potion maybe without. Pretty decent read and I actually liked the characters. I will probably read the rest but I would have liked to know more about the witch portion of the book.
Creature of Habit: Book One - Angel Lawson - 4 Stars. This one really caught my attention and held it throughout the entire read. Pretty good read and the characters kept you wanting more. I am starting to believe in paranormal romance again because it does have a plot and this one kept me intrigued from start to finish.
The Witches of Dark Root - April Aasheim - 3.5 Stars So I really liked this one but the only problem was it dragged on a little too long. I loved Maggie and I loved the story. I just felt like there was a lot of build-up to the main event and then POOF! I loved the build up (when it wasn't dragging but didn't really like the FLOP at the end. Overall pretty decent read though!
Inkubus - Katie de Long - 1 Star Honestly so far in the book this was the most difficult to read. I don't like the idea of some weird spirit like person impregnating unsuspecting women. I thought it was a little difficult to get into and I honestly thought it was kind of out of place in this book.
Hounded - Tasha Black - 4 stars I love me a good girl bad guy story and I think he did but don't know if he didn't kind of book. Good quick read and Tasha Black has a knack for telling a story and keeping you interested from beginning to end.
One Night With a Vampire - Rozlyn Sparks - 5 stars Daphne is the best! When her best friends (or worst enemies so she thinks for a moment) take her to The House of Pleasure where she meets Connor a Vampire Sex Slave she is petrified, pissed off and just a little uncomfortable for like a minute. She then turns her fears to fantasies! I love me some Connor and Daphne and even her drunk friends.
Beast - Kim Faulks - 3 stars Well I felt we had a little Beauty and the Beast Retelling here. While I love the Beauty and Beast story I think sometimes it is a little strange when authors write a comparable story but then I wish it was the real thing. I liked the story just thought it was a little boring.
In the Moonlight - Rainy Kaye - 2 stars I guess there is another book in this series but I was lost the entire book. I liked the characters but just never could get connected to the story and found myself wanting to skim instead of read. I guess there is something inside of this read. I just could not figure it out!
Just a Little Nudge - Jesi Lea Ryan - 4 stars Hell of a story and I love the Nudge! I think Jesi Lea Ryan did a great job with a story few would understand. I think it was pretty darn neat and loved Marley and I think I fell in love with her within the first page. I was actually scared for her for a few seconds but right after I thought she was pretty damn amazing. Great story!
Heart of Stone - Amy Lee Burgess - 3 stars I want to be a Gargoyle! I loved Dee and I liked her story. Thought the author did a great job with telling a story. Why only 3 stars ?? It was missing something just can't put my finger on it but it was still a pretty decent read!
Fire - L.B. Gilbert - 5 stars OMG! I am going to read every story in this series. Why because The Elementals Kick Ass and are pretty damn amazing! Fire was a hell of a story with a great plot and some kick ass characters. I love the Elements but I think this book kicked ass. It was a GREAT read and I recommend it to everyone!
Wolf's Desire - Amber Ella Monroe and Ambrielle Kirk - 4 stars I am a sucker for Wolf shifting stories! Kiera and Aiden were amazing characters and the story kept me interested the entire time. It was pretty amazing and a good read. Kiera was pretty darn awesome and I love the "widow" story and thought that it was great finding out the mystery of the characters. I think the authors did a great job telling a story of shifters!
Jaguar at the Portal - Aimee Easterling - 2 stars Last book in a HUGE book and it was the one I wanted to race to finish. I did not like it and I did not like the characters. I thought it was boring and just finished it so that I could say Happily Ever After was finished. Not the best ending to such a huge story!
Angel Grace (Saving Grace) - J.E. Taylor - 4 stars This book was an absolute mind fuck! Seriously I thought it was great and it made me flip out on more than one occasion. I loved the characters and I thought it was an absolute great mind fuck that kept me intrigued from start to finish.
This books are fantastic! One of my favorite books. This bundles are a great way too try new authors that you haven't read yet. I definitely enjoy this. I love reading paranormal romance.
The Witch Who Cried Wolf - 1 star: I found the heroine very (very, very) irritating A Damned Deed - 2 stars The BBW and the Beast - 1 star or less Black in White - 3.5+ stars Witch Hunter - 2+ stars Taken by the Beast - 2 stars Forbidden - 2 stars Ardent - 2 stars Wolf's Desire - 3 stars Heart of Stone - 5 stars. a beautiful story. Creature of Habit - 1 star because my brain is melting One Night with a Vampire - 2 stars Hounded - 3 stars Beast - 1 star, the back and forth was confusing Inkubus - 2 stars The Witches of Dark Root - 1 star Just a Little Nudge - 4 stars In the Moonlight - 3 stars. the premise sucks, but the story is amazing Fire - 3 stars Saving Grace - 4.5 stars Jaguar at the Portal - 4 stars
this is for Fire- The Elementals by LL Gilbert - . I didn't know anything about the elementals so this book was a very good start for me as it went in great depth through the characters and description explaining what each girl as we meet them represented. All through the story you are able to keep track and not being lost in it. I would definitely read more. I have read a few from the other authors and would highly recommend this read. The Witch Who Cried Wolf by Sarah Makela - I really like this story, how it unfolded and you were able to understand how each character built up, I can't wait to read the rest of the series now.
I've read a few of the books in this box set, and my favorite so far has been Just a Little Nudge, which was quite a fast, fun book. I was hooked nearly from the first page --- how can you not want to know about a stripper who can mentally nudge her clients to hand out twenties instead of ones? The romance was spot on, the external drama intriguing, and the world-building light but perfectly envisioned. Plus, the book (although the first in a series) read just fine as a standalone. I'm looking forward to trying out the rest of the offerings!
I was given this box set in exchange for fair and honest reviews. For the price of 99c it must be the bargain of the year for paranormal readers . There are some of the best indie writers on here with a full months of fabulous reading. With authors like Rainy Kaye ,Connor Cressley and Rebecca Hamilton this is a storming box set and to miss out for 99c is a tragedy .
I really enjoyed most of the stories, with only a few not to my taste. These were full length novels as opposed to short stories. Several were part of a series and felt incomplete without reading the rest. Some did not in fact end happily.
The witches of dark root I enjoyed this one enough to buy the sequels. I did think the story needlessly complex. I skimmed or skipped the frequent flashbacks because a. They were in italic which is difficult to read, b. They interrupted the flow of the narrative, and c. The book was long enough without them. There were a number of typos. Twice "it's," which usually has an incorrect apostrophe, was actually missing one here. Hefty trash bags was not capitalized, so it made no sense. Punctuation was often but not always outside quotes. If you're going to do it wrong, at least be consistent. Then was used for than. Choked was spelled choched. Anymore was used for any more. Ipod was used for iPod. Track lighting was spelled tract. A word was in the wrong order "...the three of us eating straight gravy out of his pot...."
Inkubus Too boring for me.
Beast Too boring for me.
Hounded I enjoyed this pornography frequently interrupted by a mystery. I liked the characters the rare times they weren't having sex, and I liked the story. I noticed a couple errors. A plural name improperly had an apostrophe. Punctuation was wrongly outside quotes.
One night with a Vampire I quickly lost interest in this story. I did notice that too was used for to.
Creature of habit I liked this enough to buy the sequels. It does end without a resolution though. Punctuation was sometimes but not always outside quotes. If you're going to do it wrong, at least be consistent. The number six was incorrectly written with a numeral, not spelled out. Is this a book or a grocery list? I believe sprung was use in the wrong tense "...and they sprung to life." Hardwood (floor) was incorrectly written as a plural.
Heart of stone This was the most moving story in the collection. The main character undergoes an emotional transformation, and learns to be happy. There is one tragic event that you just know is going to happen, and it hangs over much of the book. I disagreed with the author about the resolution of the conflict. If I were writing the story, it would have had a happier outcome. There is an extra word and a capital letter with which I disagreed: "She said, 'How strange that she would be chosen as to witness too.'"
Wolf's Desire I liked what was there, but it ended without full resolution. I'm not sure i want to invest the time to continue the series. There is an incorrect question mark. "I don't know where the threats are coming from exactly?"
Ardent This was a good paranormal action romance. A few key scenes seem to have been omitted though. One character has a secret, and later another character knows some or all of it too. When and how did they happen? A plural name improperly had an apostrophe. Shined was used for shone.
Forbidden The reader jumps into a story already in progress. There is a lot of unexplained background and presumably further adventures in this universe. What we do see is beautiful though. Punctuation is incorrectly written outside quotes. Weirdest is spelled wrong. An infinitive was split. One scene had me confused. The woman invites her parents along, but is annoyed when another character invites them too.
Taken by the beast This is quite complex, but the love triangle is too easily resolved. The ending teases a sequel. Trial is spelled wrong, Instead of "suit yourself" or something, the author has "see it yourself." It didn't make any sense. A was used for as, and lied for lay or laid.
Witch Hunter This story did not have a happy ending (presumably that comes in a sequel which i will not be reading). There were some gruesome sex scenes not to my taste (I'm not a fan of BDSM). No errors that I noticed.
Black in white I loved this story. The characters are all intriguing. I have the sequels on my wish list. No errors that I recall.
The BBW & The beast A wonderful, complete story marred by several errors. A past event is said to have taken place either seven or twelve years earlier. Her is used for she "...a tradition her and Cynthia had picked up in NY...." There's a misplaced comma "Oh for a time, when she was too naive to recognize the signs." Brought was used for bought. A character was said to be "not so much as glancing at her," yet later it says "his gaze hadn't moved from hers the entire length of the conversation." Millennia is spelled millennials. Was is used for were "She knew none of the visions was true...." There's an extra word in one phrase "...turn and stumble toward away."
A Damned Deed Exciting story with a kick-ass heroine and a happy ending. No errors that I noticed.
The witch who cried wolf A cute story with no errors that I noticed.
Just a little nudge No supernaturals, just a couple psychics and a drug gang. Not interesting enough for me to finish. I did notice a missing word in a sentence ("...waiting for him lead me to Nico...") and a period that should have been a comma ("If you just give me a couch for tonight. I'll be out of your hair in the morning.").
In the Moonlight Merely a supplemental chapter to a series I haven't read. Didn't bother with this one.
Fire: the elementals book One Not interesting to me
Saving Grace Not interesting to me
Jaguar at the portal I should have liked this shifter action romance, but it was just too wordy. I gave up after a few chapters. Update: I went back and read 'Jaguar." It was enjoyable but much too wordy. There was a childish Mayan god, a woman descended from priestesses, and a shady jaguar shifter. There was romance, violence, adventure, and family drama. Typos: "no rescue was eminent," "without meaning too," and "go out with the boys',"
This one took me a while to read because there are so many amazing stories, some of them I cried while some of them made me laugh, each author has talent and can get you lost in their books....while I personally don't like a book that leaves you hanging and a couple of them do, almost all of them made me want to buy the next part of their stories and continue reading
I chose to read and review this book this one is an awesome boxset of such great books I enjoyed reading each one is well written nice characters I am a fan of some of the authors while the others are new to me and enjoyed the interactions between characters such great work I so recommend it
For me this set didn't live up to its promise. I expected lots of shifter romances. That's not what I got. There were lots of mysteries, lots of witches, and lots of first-person. None of which I expected in a set titled Happily Ever Alpha. Managed to read three out of 21 and none were better than three stars.
Yeah the set has a bunch of books but the stories are mediocre and predictable. Plus how many remakes of beauty and the beast does the world really need? The whole boxset is just the first book in a bunch of different series written by various authors. I could not force myself to read the last few books.
I loved reading every story! Shifters, vampire's, elementals and many more. I will definitely be continuing most of the series started in this collection
Takes quite awhile to get through so not a quick read. If you are looking for new to you authors and series then this is a great way to find them. You get numerous authors and several different types of paranormal characters.
This was a collection of a lot of really good books. I liked every one of them. I would recommend them to everyone that likes to read about the alpha male and females.
I love these sets for discovering new authors and reading stories from some of my favorites. There are some really good authors and stories included which make it more than worth the very small cost.
I am going to review two of them in depth.
Witch Hunter by Steffanie Holmes
Ada and her aunts are witches and under a curse that require one of them to have sex with a man every seven days or they all lose their powers. Her aunts have been responsible for feeding the curse but now it is Ada's turn. The community is being ravaged by the plaque so she turns to a spell for help in locating a lover. Ulrich responds to her call. They have an intense sexual encounter that neither can easily forget. They don't expect to run into each other again.
Ulrich has been sent to the town to find and punish the witch causing all the illnesses. The town believes that witchcraft is the cause of all their losses. He has no idea that there are real witches in the town much less that Ada is one. Ada is terrified of the witch hunter and the stories she has heard about their techniques for getting confessions. A nasty encounter leads to an accusation and others she thought were her friends join in the talk. Ulrich has to balance his own dark desires as well as his desire to protect Ada.
It is a haunting story and this part ends on quite a cliffhanger. Ulrich is a complicated man and has major issues due to his childhood. His father is more of a monster than a man and delights in causing women pain while Ulrich likes pleasure with his pain. He thinks he has a way out but his involvement with Ada may jeopardize everything. There are a lot of characters you really despise for their weaknesses and their jealousies. They are so quick to turn on Ada who has been nothing but kind and helpful and saved many with her herbs. I can't wait to see where the story goes next. It has been one surprise after another.
The Witch Who Cried Wolf by Sarah Makela
t is a good story with characters that are easy to love. Mia is one confused witch. She has been hiding her powers from family and friends and working with a mentor who owns a store that sells the items she needs for her spells. She is in a reluctant relationship which she plans to end after the holidays as he is getting more and more annoying. Her heart is already taken by her brother's best friend, Ethan. Ethan is home on leave and has been hiding his feelings for Mia for a few reasons. He is surprised when she picks him up at the airport. There is an incident after they meet again that places them both at risk. They both realize werewolves are real and can be very dangerous. I am very interested in finding out what happens next for them.
Sarah Makela - The Witch Who Cried Wolf: Mia probably wishes a thousand times she had not went into her friends shop that day. If she had not mad that stop her, her family, and the man she loved would not of been in danger.
Mia had lived with a secret. One only her best friend knew and that was because they both had the same secret. Only difference is Jessa did not hide it as much as Mia did. Mia had special powers. That was something she hid from her parents and brother.
Jessa had volunteered Mia to do a healing potion for Mr. Sexy. The only thing Mr Sexy said was that it was for a friend that had lead poisoning. If only Mia would of know she was making it for a werewolf she would have not add an ingredient that would poison a werewolf.
Next thing Mia knows is she is at the airport doing her brother a favor by picking up Ethan, her brother’s best friend. A man that Mia was in love with. Now here they were being attached by a werewolf. She would of never wanted to drag Ethan in this mess. Let him know about her secret, put his life in danger, and cause him to be changed into a werewolf. Now to complicate things even more Mia is using a healing salve that she forgot she had spilt some love potion in. Will the love potion work and Ethan fall madly in love with her? Will Mia put the healing salve on Ethan in time to keep him from turning into a werewolf? Can Ethan find it in his heart to ever forgive Mia? Will Ethan be able to keep Mia safe from the werewolf that is hunting and threaten her?
There is a lot going on in this book. I love how Sarah brought 2 supernaturals together. This was a very awesome read.
Aimee Easterling - Jaguar at the Portal: Ixchel who is a vet has been hiding from her 5 brothers. She had turned them in and sent them to prison. She fears for the revenge that they might want to take against her. She is having to always keep her guard up.
Finn who is a jaguar shifter longs to find others of his kind. He did not know when he stolen the statue the trouble that it would cause. The god Taz that is stuck in the statue is not kind. He wants revenge. Taz is willing to use his power to make Finn do what he wants.
Ixchel and Finn have some decisions to make. Ixchel needs to make up her mine is she wants to become a priestess for the jaguar god Ixxie and Finn needs to decide if he is going to let the wind god Tax control him. Finn is in love with Ixchel which is hard since he has been lonely for so long.
I received this book for an honest review. It was a good book.
Most of these stories were 4 stars. I picked several of the stories to review here.
Something Like This by Eileen Cruz Coleman **** this story grabs you This story was a roller coaster of negative life experiences interlaced with wonderful loving people. Jadie's thinking and actions left me frustrated at times to the point of having to take a break from the story. But I stayed with it, and I have to say it was worth it.
The Billionaire Cowboy's Speech by Margo Bond Collins **** A short but sweet read Leta & Tor are both dealing with anguish when they meet. Tor is a billionaire recovering from an accident and Leta has negative feelings about rich men due to a recent breakup.... Their story is sweet as they fall in love, but not without some mis-steps!
Risking it All by Rosie Cortes **** A quick read Alex is an archeologist and James a developer. They meet when bones are unearthed in the excavations of a development. They're on opposite sides, but somehow it all works out. A quick, feel good story.
Disclosure: I received an advance reader copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
Gargoyle shifters have a big challenge facing them -- live as a human among humans to serve and protect them by eradicating the truly evil members of the species, but never be able to form meaningful relationships with humans because only the evil ones are attracted to the gargoyle's hidden nature; normal, non-evil humans unconsciously sense and shun it. Unless, of course, you happen to run into your gargoyle soulmate, who will spend whatever is left of gargoyle-kind's thousand-year lifespan with you. The world's a big place and gargoyle shifters aren't prolific...what are the odds?
That's Deanna's thought when handsome sculptor Brendan O'Malley tries to convince her they're mates. He's the only one who senses it, and Deanna's own blindness to this instinctive gargoyle recognition particularly bothers her because she has been accused of “emotional backwardness” by her fellow gargoyle shifters for preferring her gargoyle form to her human one and being the last of her brood to fledge (gargoyle shifters are only meant to shift into their nonhuman form for the purpose of consuming the auras of evil people).
I loved watching Dee and Brendan’s relationship develop, full of offbeat chemistry, close encounters of the steamy, carnal kind, and fraught with misunderstandings both hilarious and poignant. Those misunderstandings take on a whole new significance when Deanna is summoned back to Stone Mountain, the fortress of gargoyle-kind, to witness a trial, and forced by the Elders to question whether her “emotional backwardness” is a sign of a much deeper and more sinister problem that eventually puts her life with Brendan into heartwrenching jeopardy. Not only did it twist up my heartstrings, but it had me on the edge of my seat, gnawing my knuckles until the end. Ms. Burgess never fails to make me deeply invested in her characters and engrossed in watching their fates unfold!
For now, this will have to be the short short review, as I am late for work.
I have read four of the storys, so far-and have read other books by a half dozen of the other authors-and alla re very good to great.
Black in White JC Andrijeski Miri (1/2 Seer) and Black (young Seer, and I guess he doesn't like Quentin lol) in and out of scrapes. Excellent mystery SF/Romance.
The Witches of Dark Root April Aasheim All of the sisters, and others, really feel and act like real people. May not sound like much, but I find this to be quite rare. Also suspenseful, that would be easy to see happening in one's own life. Love these, including the other books in the Dark Root series.
Beast Kim Faulks Wow, just wow. Intense, dark as hell (so to speak), yet with an uplifting feel, which is strange since not exactly what I would call a HEA.
Just a Little Nudge Jesi Lea Ryan (no relation) Again, someone with a paranormal talent, and how they deal with it, like in April Aasheim's books. And happier than Arcadia's series.
I really need to get going and will update this as I read more, and have time!
If you like paranormal, this is a great way to meet new authors or enjoy new stories from authors you already like. I have read more than 1/2 so far, some I really liked and some were just ok.
The stories vary in length, some being about 5-7 chapters and some even as much as about 35+ chapters. Giving you a great quick read with one of the short one or a great longer, full novel with the others.
A Damned Deed was really quick and sexy and danger, it was a good quick read.
Taken by the bEast was pretty good. It kept my interest and was full of suspense and a touch of sexy! I like that the heroine was a full figured woman, not a skinny twig. Lol! And even though the description says no cliffhangers, this story does have more in the series, which I already went and got the next book, Sleeping with the Beast and I'm looking forward to the continuation of the story. I guess technically it could be read as a standalone, but for me, my curiosity has me wanting the next story.
Overall, this is a pretty good collection and I look forward to finding other books by some of the authors in this collection.
This is such a phenomenal book,I was stunned when I got to the end because the pages flew by at an unnatural speed. The lives of the Ryan boys are far from normal and that is one of the many things that makes this story an exceptional read. In this series we pick up a few years after the last Steve Williams novel "Saving Face" left off. Now the boys are men and even more impressive than they were as teens.J.E. Taylor is an author that knows how to weave an interesting tale,as an avid reader I feel that a good book should catch your attention from page one, this book does that in spades.I love the supernatural aspects of this book as well as the superb writing ,plus two of my favourite characters from J.E's "Night Hawk series " is in this ( Damian and Naomi).I liken this book to potato chips, you truly can not have just one. Now I am off to the next book because I simply cannot rest until I have finished these delightful tales. In case my review wasn't clear enough,I Highly Recommend This Book!!!
What a fabulous deal!!! To see all these awesome Indies in one set was a no-brainer to one-click :D And as always, any book by Tasha Black is an automatic add to my TBR list & a quick one-click as long as I have the money ;) I haven't had a chance to read all these stories yet, but some of them I had previously been fortunate to receive an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review :D Since I absolutely loved "Hounded" by Tasha Black, I had even purchased my own copy to keep before, as I have now done on this amazing set! Wonderful entertaining stories that will keep readers engaged for hours not wanting to stop or put it down, like what always happens to me ;) So one-click your own copy now, but make sure you have plenty of time set aside!! Please Don't forget to thank authors by leaving an honest review, even if you haven't finished all the stories in this boxed set, you can always come back & add to and update :D
I try not to pick up to many boxed sets but some I just cannot help myself with and this is one of them!!! There are so many great authors in this one, I had been wanting one in the collection for some time by Kim Faulks (Beast) so for the price to get so many more it's quite a deal!!!
Kim Faulks: Beast is a edgy telling of The Beauty and the Beast fairy tale, I'm a sucker for new twists on old tales!!! This one is a page turner, the re-telling of a modern time. The twists and turns pull you in right from the start and hold you all the way through with suspense! I was left wanting more, it was so good! When you read this one I suggest getting the next in the series, Gretel is as good if not better!!!
Hounded Hounded is a new paranormal romance book by Tasha Black. In this book we meet Dulcie Alette, a real estate agent who has a sweet tooth and also happens to be an empath. Van Blanco is a sexy shifter who is trying to turn his life around. The attraction between the two is undeniable. But when a puzzling murder occurs, Dulcie must solve this murder before Van is held responsible. This is a fun and enjoyable read. The characters are appealing and engaging. The author does a splendid job in describing Woodland Creek and its residents. I do hope that Tasha Black has other installments planned for this series.
1st story I read was The BBW and the Beast by Sylvia Frost. I loved it. Cute version of a fairytale classic. I like the way the characters have some resemblance to the original characters in Beauty and the Beast. Bel and Sampson have a very explosive chemistry. Nice read....4 stars!!!
The other stand out story in this set is Wolf's Desire by Ambrielle Kirk. I loved getting to discover more about the Caedmon Wolves. Keira and Aiden are so hot and sexy. The story was so steamy and vivid. The storyline and characters were very well written.
This is for Heart of Stone by Amy Lee Burgess, part of this box set. I have to say this is one of the most original concepts I've read in a long time. Miss Burgess was able to turn the fantasy of gargoyles into a fabulous story, inventive of these new characters. I loved Deanna - from her bike messenger attitude to her constant struggle to accept her human side. And what's not to love about Brendan, so supportive, such a gentleman - he immediately had my heart. There's so much to enjoy in this story, and best of all, so new and refreshing.
there are quite a few leading ladies here providing us with awesome books! elle thorn? to die for tasha black? hounded was just awesome kim faulks? her beast is something else. her adaptation of this tale is dark and gritty and not for every one.
all the others are just as good as these ladies. this is a perfect box to introduce you to a lot of awesome and gifted writers
